《Kingdom's Gates》Chapter Six

Helping everyone into the wagon that was hurt or a child. Jason gave Alice a hug and told her he be home after getting the girl safely back. She searches his face for hesitation in not coming back and nods to him as she turns and leads the horses, pulling the wagon back to the house. Jason grabs Keith and Sheila they head to the quarry. Not knowing when Keith became someone he could rely on to do a job but glad he did. Although she is young and almost an adult, the girl still has a good head on her even though she is a bit boy crazy. With her new abilities, she will become a force on her own.
Making their way to the quarry as quietly as they can while walking on gravel with cowboy boots. The crunching of boots on the road sound loud as they move off to the side and try to walk in the grass. In the moonlight, the dozers, bucket loaders, and dump trucks are park all over the area. The large equipment lay silently in the dark. The only sound is of sticks being dump that came from over near the gravel pile where that crusher sits. As they made their way from vehicle to vehicle as quietly as possible, they spotted a kobold's shadow that was twice the size of the ones they killed that had tiny wings. The creature was piling brush to make a fire. Gina lays on her back upon the rough ground, nearby, not moving in the dark. They were hoping the girl was still alive.
Nearby are two stone huts Jason has never seen before. They are two stone buildings that are about five feet tall with grass or straw on the roof. Guessing one of the buildings is where the Kingdom orb is at. Giving Keith the signal to use his bow on the guy. Jason pointed to the two buildings for Sheila to cast Flamestrike on the nearest building roof. As the flame roar from the flame strike on one building. Another column appears on the next building. The creature roar in surprise as it heads to the building to put out the flame. It tries to swat at the roof that was aflame. Keith's arrow slams into its back as Jason's crossbow bolt hits the side of the creature as it roars again in pain. Throwing his crossbow down, he grabs the second one out of the storage as the Kobold turns toward him.

"Shit!" Jason saw the creature point his spear at him and charge. Barely evading the spear only to be body check by the beast that bowl him in a matter of seconds. Knocking the crossbow out of his hands while getting burn from the flame that Sheila cast flame strike upon the creature just before it hit him, hoping to save him. Rowing on the ground away from the creature. As it tries to slam its claws into him only to dig into the ground. Keith fires again as his arrow hits the right arm of the Kobold. Scrambling to his feet, Jason pulls the saber and slashes the blade down upon the creature as he tries to get to his feet. The saber cuts deeply into the back and rips more flesh as Jason pulls it out. Getting the blade stuck as he pulls the creature onto his side. Keith steps forward and slams a spear that appears in his hand into its neck. Jason raises his saber, brings it down on the creature's bleeding neck, and cuts deep into it.

[You have gain +100 honor]

Bending over panting, Jason looks at Keith before moving to the girl on the ground. Checking her pulse and seeing that she is alive, he turns to the sound of the roof crashing as both buildings burn. He bent down and looted the kobold leader and received ten silver and a skill book Charge. Looking over at Sheila that was picking up his crossbow and putting the bolt on the ground to arm it.

[Claim Kobold's village.]

The burning kobolds' hut faded away, leaving everything in the dark once again. Jason felt like he had been hit by a train. He lifts Gina into a princess hold fill her back in bloody and full of gravel. He held her as careful as possible, wanting to leave in case something heard the noise or saw the fire. Keith police up the arrows and bolts and store them as they walk back to the gate. It took a half-hour to make it to the lower gate. They stare at Alice's land in the moonlight. The land to the house in the far distance looks flat with maybe an inch or two high grass. The trail to the house is missing, and on both sides of the gate is a four-foot-high one-foot thick rock wall. Replace the barbwire fence around the property that he spent all last summer and fall replacing it. They all stare at the scene and then each other and shake their heads in amazement before crossing into the flat field. Keith locks the gate before following Jason with Sheila in the lead with the crossbow.

'What!' Looking at the flat land all around him, to the left corner of the field. A wall is missing, and a few trees are in the corner. He watches a tree disappear under the moonlight. Jason finally figures out what is going on. The land has lower by several feet and levels out apparently, the Kingdom orb dug up rocks and filling gullies and washout areas. Staring in the distance, he can see that the farmhouse and area around it is higher than the ground around it by fifteen feet or more as the land settles down and flatten out around it. They saw that the cliff above them was at least fifteen feet and became solid rock as they came closer. All three of them stare at the stone wall that rises up and then changes into a wood palisade wall that is slowly forming. From their view, two guard towers were forming at the corners.
Keith mutters, "So how do we enter?"
The image of the land and fort appears in Jason's head, and he points to the side. "We walk that way to the front their an entrance in front of the fort."
"You building a fort?" Both Sheila and Keith blurt out.
Walking away, pretending not to hear and not sure how to explain the kingdom orbs yet.
Holding the girl and feeling that some blood has soaked into his clothes. The blood from the girl's back being damaged from being dragged by the Kobold. She is lucky she was unconscious, or she would be in pain. He knew getting that healing book in Alice's hands would help the girl after they get her clean up. He noticed that everyone needs to become level one to regenerate back their health. Gina is still level zero. It took them fifteen minutes to make it to the front, where he could see the gatehouse forming. Looking at the building, he can see.
[Gategouse 52% completed.]
Stepping thru as they got close to the house, they could see everyone in the barnyard talking. The buildings are disappearing and forming near the walls. Alice and Darla came running as they saw them.
"She is unconscious. I don't know how bad she hurt. The kobold problem is taken care of for now. Alice, I need you to come to the office after you clean her." Jason said while carrying the girl into the house and put her on the couch.
Jason took a shower to clean himself up while in the bathroom. His shirt was a lost cause because it completely covers in blood by the girl. He walks into the office. Staring at the table, seeing in real-time the fort slowly build itself.
