《The Alien's Retaliation》[Chapter 37 – Terror of the universe reborn –Part 5]

Xeno's tendrils had been rapidly unwrapped from his forearms, and as he enhanced them with his deep purple energy, an intense barrage of thick hard fibers was approached the group of goblin.
The group of twelve small and green creatures, prepared a shallow defensive formation in the little window of time they had.
Their team composition was quite simple. The front row was composed of five shield and dagger wielders, in the middle there were the four 'mages' equipped with a single sword. In the back there were three archers with simple wooden bows, whom had yet to shoot a single arrow. Probably seeing the Alien's reaction speed they didn't want to waste their limited arrows.
However they had greatly underestimated the deadly tendrils of the Azoth.
Flashing with all kind of colours, these pointed extremities directly pierced through the slightly enhanced wooden shields of the goblins in the front. Having analysed their external skin, Xeno had noticed it to be a frail defence, it couldn't be compared to the hard leather of the beasts he killed in the hunting grounds.
Thus he directly aimed for their vitals, impaling two of them directly through their skulls, directly sending their bodies limp.
The other three had their lungs or viscera pierced and where wriggling and shrieking in pain. Blood started to quickly accumulate on to the ground, further diminishing the morale of the remaining goblins.
Yet Xeno didn't relax one bit, he exploited the shocked state of this enemies, striking down with his enhanced, blue glowing, tail.
One of the magic wielding goblins got horizontally halved in half, completely separating the torso from his lower self.
At the same time he lunged forward with his powerful jaw, savoring the warm metallic taste of blood coming from the green neck of the goblin.
Then, suddenly his senses warned him of the combined efforts of the other two remaining melee goblins and the three archers, as they had already nocked arrows to their bows.
To promptly defend himself, Xeno heavily channeled purple energy onto his forearms, making them bulging with rainbow colored veins. At the same time he changed the shape of the tips of his tendrils that were still inside of the goblin corpses. Then he muttered his strength and rapidly threw them at his enemies, as the disc shaped tips held onto the dead flesh, the five bodies shielded Xeno from the incoming attacks.

Back into his quadrupedal position, he had already coiled his tendrils back and lunged directly toward the three archers.
The first one who was about to pull out another arrow from its back, ended up quickly decapitated by Xeno's sharp tail. The next archer however received a more painful death, as the alien corroded and crushed its head with both his acid saliva and teeth.
The remaining three enemies had been quickly eliminated soon after from either Xeno's tendrils or his pitch dark claws.
[First part of the proof of strength has been completed. New enemies will appear in the next seconds, please wait…]
Hearing the robotic and monotonous voice that have been doing all of the announcements of the trial, Xeno was not as surprised. In fact it had not been that hard to kill this bunch of creatures, he had only spent some stamina and received a few scratches. Thus he expected the next round to exploit his now relatively tired state.
He voraciously started to eat the still warm carcasses of his preys, waiting for the next enemies to arrive.
Soon enough, another team of six presented itself before him. This time though, he could not be but momentarily shocked. Humans.
If not for their primitive appearance, Xeno would have needed a lot more time to recollect himself. In truth, this species composed the very foundation of the Union that held the control of planet Siri-0rF. Humans were extremely dangerous, as they heavily modified their bodies through advanced technology and gained powerful abilities.
However, normal humans where on the contrary extremely weak. The two categories where quiet easy to distinguish, as the first one described them as cyborgs.
This group surely did not possess cybernetic implants. Still, Xeno sensed the presence of tier three tools through their ranks, he could not underestimate them.
Quickly crouching into his quadrupedal stance, he started to rush toward their flank.
The head of human team formation was composed of two tanks wielding a big oval gray metallic shield each, which covered vertically their whole bodies. Their middle row presented two lancers, both of them firmly held a two meters long lance, which had a solid blue energetic blade. Similar to the one Xeno had seen using from the trio he fought near the portal leading to the dungeon.

The last pair was composed of two women, one was undoubtedly a gunner, as she was carrying a long rifle between her arms. Her other female comrade had just a long and strange wooden cane, probably a mage of some sort.
Physically speaking they seemed all quite bulky and muscled, in particular the tanks in the front. The two females facial feature didn't seem particularly beautiful, yet their bodies were fit and toned.
Focusing his senses he heard them vehemently engaging in a heated conversation, pointing at him. Not really caring what they had to say, Xeno, who was still running toward their left flank, decided that it was time to take action.
Trough his nano-heart new energy started to flow into his body, before reaching his claws and hind legs, propelling him forward.
Seeing the alien suddenly gaining speed and almost becoming a blur, the humans sought protection behind the huge shields of their tanks.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
However to their surprise they impact that such a big monster should have provoked by clashing against the shields didn't arrive. In fact Xeno did not intend to attack in such a direct manner, as he could sense the two lancers ready two lunge forward once he impacted against the tanks.
Thus he made a double leap, the first with his legs and the second one through his tendrils that collided with the two big aegis.
Suddenly the group had found the menacing alien about a meter from their now exposed flank.
Exploiting such moment of shock, Xeno perforated the upper torso of the nearest lancer with his tail and with his jaw and claws made a quick work of one of the tanks.
Soon after he perceived a strong energy signature rising up behind his back. It was the gunner, who having just seen the death of two of her comrades was desperately crying and cursing at the Alien.
However Xeno neither understood what she was saying, nor he cared about it. As he accumulated deep purple energy into his vocal cords he suddenly unleashed a powerful screech.
KIIIEEEEEK!
Thus momentarily stunning the woman, then like a hungry beast following their prey, he lounged at her, filling her body with holes through his tendrils and savoring her eyes and brain with his jaw.
Blinded by rage, the last lancer charged at the macabre monster which was eating his friend alive. Indeed, if he had pondered the situation a bit instead, maybe he could have easily understood a few fundamental points. Firstly, Xeno was no stupid beast who acted based on its instincts, and he demonstrated it in his first assault. Furthermore, his fighting style clearly stated him possessing keen senses. The fact that he could locate multiple enemies at the same time suggested that even if without eyes or ears, the Alien must possess such things. Furthermore Xeno did not have all of his limbs occupied, his tail was just as free to kill the enraged and foolish man.
The fight had degenerated rather quickly from then on, as its two last members died soon after. Yet the woman with the scepter demonstrated her final move to be worthy of attention. Xeno had nimbly dodged part of it, however he had been partly hit by such a big thunderbolt that had been generated out of pure energy.
Tired out and presenting a single internal injury, Xeno had accomplished the second part of the 'proof of strength'.
