《Nameless System V 1.00.008》Chapter 1.8

Clouds dominated the morning sky leaving transitory patches of blue. Though they were mostly white there was a hint of greyness, a suggestion that rain might play a part in the day to come.
Each man totaled 12, including me, sat on the edge of the small fishing boat, painted in stripes of blue navy and decorated with yellow stars. Slung about their shoulders were rifles; there were fewer men than weapons on the board. Each face was beam against the frigid wind and harsh wave, as for me.
"Hoek!" A small gagging noise came out of my mouth before the sour scent of puke added to the already sea aroma that lingered. My curiosity wasn't worth at all.
"Seasickness?" Asked Karl. His bald head was covered with a fur hat, amongst others he was the only one that brought a bow; loaded down with scope and gadgetry.
" *Sigh* Sorry, even though I never had seasickness before." I said as my face was facing toward the sea.
"Given the weather conditions, it's only natural that you get seasick, at least you don't totter around."
"Cheer up kiddo, Oh! I brought some medicine, do you want it?" Said Herman, while he handing me a leather bag. He wore a camouflage uniform covered with a green vest that had many pockets.
Oh? this is unexpected, considering it is Herman. The bag was heavier than I'd expected, I took a bottle of water and opened the bag only to find little dull green pineapples. But these were no fruit, it was deadly if that pin got pulled.
"Woahh!" In reflex I threw the bag, hard metallic sound was created when the bag collided with the floor. Grenades scattered from the inside and rolled around the boat.
"Herman! it is forbidden to bring an explosive, how many times do I need to tell you?!" Said Hudson, his face clearly showed unsatisfied expression when he picked up the grenade.
"Let him go Hudson. Maybe we need it." Said Woody.
"Gahaha! you heard the sheriff, so how about your seasickness? Is it gone?" Said Herman. It was true that the seasickness was gone, but I didn't feel happy about it. I could only reply to him with a half-hearted smile.
*****
Right after we landed, we split into three teams, my team consisted of Herman, Karl, Hudson and me checked the wolf location, Woody's team checked the place where Old Billy got attacked, and the last team checked the moose.
Humans were a funny creature though, one moment they were nothing but a stranger to me and the next they talked like I was their old friend, except for one person.

"Hey Dew, have you ever shot a gun before?" Asked Karl.
"I have, though it is 10 years ago and only a handgun."
"Oh? How about a grenade? have you ever threw one?" Asked Herman.
"...No"
"No? Here I teach you how to throw it." Said Herman. He took one grenade out of the bag, pulled the pin and threw it. Wait?! What?!!!
"You fool!! Get down!" Yelled Hudson, he pushed me onto the ground, almost broke Dopinder's camera and curled up right next to me. I lay on the ground, face closed in a grimace, skin was pale and clammy. After few seconds loud sound echoed, a laugh tore through my ear like a great shard of glass.
"Gahahaha!! that is a dummy, what a great reaction!!" Yelled Herman.
"Herman! stop joking around you crazy geezer." Said Hudson.
"C'mon, you're too serious Hudson. but seriously, after the pin is pulled you have four seconds before it exploded, keep that in mind." Said Herman.
Without turning, Hudson continued to walk. We followed from behind, there were no jokes this time. With each step, I watched the land in its random pattern, random and predictable at the same time. Oh, we're almost there I thought. After we walked through a hill, bloodstained land could be seen.
The investigations started, while they were crouching down and looking for an unusual track after I found a track that wasn't a footprint, more like something was slithering on the ground. "Tracking, Detect Poison, Sense Invisibility." While stood still, I felt a little bit dizzy. My vision was like a poorly coded game UI, a white circle created within a certain interval like a sonar; it didn't show anything but I could tell that there was no invisible creature, two bluish lines created on the ground and there was no green aura.
Immediately after I slightly moved my leg, the white circle disappeared, along with the dizziness. Huh... this one sucks I thought. Following the blue track, while repeating used Detect Poisons 8 minutes walking through one small hill, the track ended at the edge of a cliff, it was a short cliff; around 8-9 meter height and the track continued on the water.
"Oh, is it from the sea?" I said while looking at the water, though what surprised the most was that place located near a sea.
"What's from the sea?" A familiar voice, a voice of crazy geezer could be heard behind my back.
"What the?!" I turned back and found the other three behind my back. What? Since when?!

"Stop disturbing our work." Hudson voice came, high pitched and cold. "Seriously, I am the one that responsible if anything happens to you."
"Did something happen? you kept walking while muttering something, though you were possessed." Asked Karl.
"Ah... I think I find something, you see something is slithering back on the field so I followed its track and ended up in here."
"It's true that there was a slither track, but it didn't continue anywhere, what's your basis?"
"Karl, give it a rest. This man is a newbie, heck! he might be doesn't have an idea for that." Said Hudson. Couldn't blame him, they were the expert on this kind of thing, and I couldn't find an excuse about my basis either. Should I say that I am a psychic?
"Maybe, but you said something about the sea right?" Said Herman, he put his hand onto his grenade bag. Wait, don't tell me.
"Wait! Herman stop!!!" Hudson yelled. Though it was too late, Herman already pulled the pin by the time he said this.
"Fire in the hole!!!!" Said Herman. He threw the grenade as hard as he could into the sea, after a few seconds a stream of water climbed the air, followed by his maniac laugh.
"You fucking crazy two teeth geezer!!!! Do you realize what will happen if that thing explodes on the cliff?!!!" Hudson shouting violently, this time I agreed with him.
"What? that thing is exploded on the water so everything is fine right?" Said Herman with a grin on his face.
"Shut your grin off, I will take you to the police station after we're back onto the main island." Said Hudson.
"Erm... are my eyes playing tricks on me or the water turned red?" I said while looking at the reddish water.
"You're right and there was no fish corpse either." Said Karl.
The water was bubbling, washed away the slight traces of blood and what followed was something burst out from the water. Reflexly I and Karl moved away from the cliff.
A mass of tentacles almost as big as an adult arm, covered with circular stingers; twisted in the air at least ten meters long and it kept becoming longer and longer.
"Oh... that is surprising." Said Karl calmly.
"....Huh?!!!! How can you be so calm?!!" I said while pointing toward the dancing tentacles. "Don't you see that thing?!!"
"See what?" Said Hudson when he directed his gaze in line with my finger. "Have you lost your mind? anyway let's get back, Herman prepare yourself."
Huh? Huuuuuh?!! Am i going crazy?! "Detect Poison!! Sense Invisibility!!! Tingling Sense!!!!." In panic mode, I used skills randomly. A white circle spreading, a green miasma floated on the air and a tingling sensation struck me. I knew that from everything that I should have done, something bad is coming from the top and I must not move my body away to the left. I hopped to the right side, hitting Karl on the process. A moment later, all of the tentacles violently stung the ground where I stood just a second ago.
"Wa..? What happened?!" Said both Herman and Hudson in unison.
"Don't you guys see it?!!! Ice Shards!!!" A white bluish circle with a complicated line drawn on it inside formed at the place that I wanted, right on the middle of that dancing tentacles, then a whitish mist created few meters on top of that circle, freezing the air and made eleven ice shards at the size of an adult finger. The ice shards rained onto the white circle, each pierced through the tentacle building a hole in their body.
For each hole that was created, a sudden burst of green miasma exposed to the air only this time it was instantly gone.
At first no-one moved, their brains unable to make sense of the input from their eyes, though their experience made them fast enough to react. Each one of them grasped their weapon and shot the tentacles. As for me, I took a random amount of cards. "Razor Paper!!" Expanded it and tossed it in a fan shape. Little by little the tentacles feel back into the sea.
"Wha...what are those things?!" Asked Karl, his face was almost as pale as a ghost and hands were trembling.
"Kiddo! did you see that thing before we see it?! what is that?!" Asked Herman with a grin like a child that got a Christmas present.
"...Don't ask me."
Suddenly, the water burst out from the sea; humected us in the process. Fear and panic ensued as a pink creature at the size of Boeing 747 plane, with its two black circle eyes, opened its mouth and showed the yellow teeth with its tentacles tongue.
"Those tentacles are only its tongue?!!!" I said when I looked hundred of tentacles wriggling out from its mouth.
"Code 8, Code 8!!! Requesting backup On 113 !!!" Yelled Hudson.

The Werewolf Cheerleader
Being a cheerleader is easier than being a werewolf. Jessica Tumbleleague is a typical teenage girl who loves being a cheerleader at Moondale High. But after an encounter with a werewolf in the woods, Jessica discovers a frightening world she never thought is real. Dangerous magic, deadly fierce spirits, and other malevolent creatures. Now Jessica must fight the forces of darkness to protect her hometown while balancing her supernatural life with her high school life. But can she control the beast within herself? Note: This is a rewrite of the original with the same name. I decided to change the third-person style to first-person because I liked Jessica's voice better. She is funny and very strong. With the story only focusing on her, I can keep the mystery suspenseful and the reader can experience what Jessica is experiencing. It is a typical YA style, but it is fun to write as your main character. There are changes, but the first and second books will be similar to the third-person chapters. Let me know what you think and I hope you will enjoy this new version of the Werewolf Cheerleader. I will post the chapters every Friday in the afternoon. P.S, there is a Werewolf Cheerleader short story published in the Tales of Dungeons, All Hallows book. Titled The Werewolf Cheerleader: Castle and Ghouls. The short is also in first-person, which made me decide to change the book series into first-person. The link is below if you want to check it out. https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B08MCS82R5

The Rocky Shore
This is a LitRPG series. Every story you read here takes place in the same virtual world, with the same rules and limitations. Characters will travel, explore vast and dangerous realms, overcome obstacles, meet one another, enter into conflicts with one another, forge alliances, make horrible mistakes, and occasionally just die. A technological singularity has been achieved, and humanity has been trapped in a virtual world by a super-intelligent, self-improving artificial intelligence. This program is not malicious at all. In fact, it desires nothing except the happiness and fulfillment of every human it has copied into itself. If its decisions seem strange to you, that's only because its reasoning is far beyond ours. It recognizes that humans cannot be happy without enemies to overcome and goals to achieve, as well as the possibility of failure and death. The world it has created may be heaven or hell, depending on the free choices of the people it contains. The non-player characters who live in this realm have no idea that they are part of a vast computer system. They seem real enough, but there is no way to tell if they are truly self-aware. Even the system that created them isn't certain. This is world in which all the things that humans are used to dealing with in the abstract: skills, talents, knowledge, reputation, social status, morality, even love, exist as readable statistics that players can see and interact with objectively. This has many curious and complex effects on how people perceive themselves and the world around them. A few quick notes on the system: -Death is permanent -The system interface can only be accessed at certain locations. -Magic of diverse kinds is available and useful, but is not a good substitute for skills, physicallity, or mental prowess. Non-magical characters are common and competitive. -There is no inventory system. Characters must physically carry everything they wish to have on their person. -Healing is slow and difficult. Magical Healing is all but unheard of. Protagonists: Raymond Garrison- A man in his late twenties who used to work as a forklift operator in Idaho. His path leads him to work as a mercenary, protecting a small community of humans and goblins from the Seelie Fae who wish to exterminate them. Patricia Chandler- A elderly British woman who arrives in this new world with her grandson Kyle and her granddaughter Elizabeth. Never having dealt with rpg game mechanics before, she is in for a rough time, but she is determined to keep her grandkids alive in a world full of danger and evil. Jamil Mesbah- An Egyptian woman who once worked as a technical writer. Her path leads into a vast and hostile forest, where she must master both her magical abilities and her survival skills in order to succeed. Enjoy your travels, friends.
