《Nameless System V 1.00.008》Chapter 1.5

A small bar located on a village near the island, the walls were made of some wood, so old and poor that it was surprising how it still standing and yet the liveness was amazing. People came and sat on small wooden chairs, gathered around at circular tables and laughing like there was no tomorrow.
As for me, since I didn't know anyone, my cigarette burned on the glass ashtray that seemed contrast with the table wooden surface, in front of me there was a glass of amber liquid and the golden glow of the glass-like cubes. Wrapping my fingers around the glass I took a sip. A sour and vile taste slipped into my mouth along with the keen burn on my tongue and throat. Leisurely I spent my night staring at the moose's head that neatly arranged on the wall.
Though nothing lasted forever, the buzzer of my phone went off like an annoyed rattlesnake. I scooped it up and read the message.
Christmas: Dude! Where the fuck are you?! The bar needs help!! 😠
Ah, crap I forget about the bar.
Dew: Sorry, I'm in Alaska right now.
Christmas: Alaska?! What Alaska?! What are you doing in Alaska?!
Dew: Vacation.
"Mr. Dew Everest, can we speak for a moment?" Two men wearing light brown cowboy hats with their brown uniforms complemented with a handled radio, a star-shaped badge and gun neatly sat on their holster suddenly sat in front of me.
Dew: BRB
As I slipped my phone back into my pocket. "Ah, yes." I replied.
"Sorry to bother you. I am Woody and this is my partner Hudson. We're here to ask you about that massacre detail." Said Woody, he spoke with a gravelly voice, might be in his seventies with his white spade beard hanging around from his chin.
"So, none of the wolves were skinned and the hunter also used poison. Is that true?" Without waiting for my confirmation Hudson spoke. He had the usual height but without the bulk, thin if I must say.

"Leaving aside the poison, It is weird indeed, to think all of the wolves gathered at the same spot. Did you see something else kid?" Said Woody.
"Eh..." As I sucked the smoke deep into my lungs trying to remember this afternoon incident. "Sorry, I can't recall anything."
"Now I know you're an outsider, but this shit is important, try harder to remember it. " Said Hudson.
Woody cleared his throat, his gravelly voice could be heard as if trying to calm his partner. "Take it easy Hudson, now kiddo anything is fine, did you see any other person? other animal track?"
"Oh! now that you mention it, I didn't see another animal like at all."
"How about a person? did you see anyone? maybe heard a gunshot?"
"Eh... No sir."
"So you're alone by the time that happens?" Said Hudson. Throughout the whole conversation, he never turned his eyes away from my face.
"Yes."
Not even a second passed after I answered him, Hudson turned his face to Woody. Woody nodded and put his hat down, showing his thick gray hair, close-cropped, on his wrinkle face.
"Excuse us, but may we check your room?" Said Woody.
"Eh..?"
*****
A backpack consisted of three pairs of clothes, a bottle of transparent green and brown liquid, two decks of trump card, two boxes of cigarette, a spraying can, laptop, camera, two books, passport, and charging cable. It seemed they were suspecting me for this incident.
"What is this?" Said Hudson in a suspicious tone when he picked up the transparent green liquid.
It was Cat's Eye but there was no way I said that to him. "Just my brewery." He gave the Cat's Eye to Woody. Woody looked at the glass bottle, shook it a few times, opened the cork cover and sniffed it. "Yes, this smell like alcohol."

"So... Am I in trouble?" Anxiously I asked.
"No, pardon our intrusion kiddo. Hudson, let's leave we will not find anything in here."
"Wait a minute sir, You! what kind of cigarette is this?"
Calling all units. A 126 at 248 Main. Back-up needed.
Before I was able to answer, a crackling static voice echoed from their radio. "Hudson, that's our call." Said Woody, he was the one that firstly left, in silence, Hudson followed him from behind. "Oh, about that cub, what are you gonna do with him?"
"Eh? what do you mean by that?"
"Well, after he healed the best we can do is returning him back to his habitat. It's fine if you are wanted to take him in though."
"Oh, is that even legal?"
"Legal or not it depends on the money you spent, I can help you with this matter if you want it."
"....I'll try to think about it, I mean he isn't my responsibility right?"
"You have a point, alright excuse us."
So saying, the pairs of officer closed the door and left me alone. After putting my things back I edited some photos and uploaded it on social media.
#Vacation #TGIF and upload. While resting my head against the shabby pillow I browsed the Nameless app, unsure of what I was going to do.
Oh... I never try PP to Status function, am I? though if this is a video game won't it better to raise status point after I made up my mind for my build? Speaking of which, what should I do for tomorrow? The quest is done and next quest is capturing a killer huh? *Sigh* This thing is getting harder, where should I find a killer?!
...Right, let's check the request.
>Request.
>Request Near Me.
>Result (Zero).
Eh, no result. Let's see the other request... Assassination, Bodyguard mission, Capturing a Liger. Damn, nothing easy. Oh? Collecting Wolf Pelts.
>Request.
>Gathering Request.

The most challenging MMO ever created—that’s how they advertised it. Taglines like, “Not your granddaddy’s game,” and, “Only for the hardest of the hardcore,” had gamers going crazy. Set in a gothic, Lovecraftian world, with fully realized A.I. NPCS, gamers were desperate to get their hands on the new game and dive in, and Clay was one of them. It was going to be tough, but he was ready for it. What he wasn’t ready for, was countless players having their minds hijacked and being transformed into mindless, hostile creatures filled with nothing but hate who killed anyone on sight. They called them the Bloodless. Clay’s best and only friend, Rey, moved across the country she was twelve, but they kept in touch online, playing countless games together, and when Blood Seekers was released, they were both ready to step up to the plate and face the new challenge together. But now, Rey has been taken by the plague, her mind held hostage as one of the Bloodless. A mysterious black monolith has appeared at the center of the highest level zone in the game, a place no one has even come close to. Some say it will provide us with answers. Others say it will only lead to more questions. Who’s behind all this? Why are people’s minds being taken? Will we ever get to bring them back? How many more will be lost if we stay logged in? Nothing is certain, but if there’s any chance that reaching the monolith will bring Rey back back, then Clay will do everything he can to reach it. This is Book 1 in a new series from Stephen Roark!
