《Nameless System V 1.00.008》Chapter 1.4

A knock came quietly first and then it became louder. "Dew! wake up you lazy ass! we're lacking one member!" a voice came from the other side, but I didn't reply. The man on the other side was furious now, he pounded on the door and demanded to be let in.
Waking up could be really harsh, especially after I was chasing bandits and crafting poisons for the whole night. Slowly but surely, I pushed myself out of bed, dragging my feet on top of the cold brown wooden floor and walked toward the door.
I opened the door and what welcomed me was a black, dreadlocks hair hanged over a round, friendly face. A mustache and goatee elegantly complimented his nose. "Pass."
"Cmon, we can't do a matchmaking with 4 persons."
"...I have another business, oh right Dopinder, can I borrow your camera?"
"For what?"
"Wildlife photography."
"New hobby? dang, you're a weird person." Said Dopinder, he went back to his apartment and handed me his camera.
"Thanks dude, I'll treat you next time."
"Don't mind it, just don't break it and are you sure you do not want to play?"
"Nah, sorry dude gotta catch a plane."
"Fine... wait?! a plane?!"
*****
From the window of the plane the wing engine was semi illuminated, the lower half shining around the rim, the upper half several shades darker. As the plane dipped the line between shadow and light moved, and all the while I listened to the hum of the rotors while checking my preparation.

By the time I arrived at my home, a brown chest was laying on the floor. It contained two books, one for concoction the other for poison along with 10 glass bottles and some ingredients each labeled with a description. Though I didn't want to drink the concoction. Cat's Sight ingredient was a piece of cat eye, Monkey's Jump ingredient was a monkey bone. As for the poisons, I didn't have the necessary ingredient so the best I could make were liquid pesticides and Verstikking Cigarettes.
As for my preparation, Tracking would be used for chasing the wolf and Detect Poisons would be used to protect me from natural hazard.
“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Alaska. Local time is 11 AM and the temperature is 12-degree celsius. For your safety and comfort, please remain seated with your seat belt fastened until the Captain turns off the Fasten Seat Belt sign."
As soon as I arrived, I bought a coat and asked the local to take me to the Unimak Island in the Aleutians, at least according to Wikipedia most of the wolf could be found at this location.
3 hours later
"......Fuck that information! forget about the wolf, I can't even find its track!!"
A long coat of crimson velvet covered my body, I'd been spending all of my time complaining about the cold, and coughing from time to time.

"Shit, and he will pick me up in two hours *sigh* at least I have some good photos."
Trying to cheer myself, I spent the time by taking photos. *Sigh* What am I even doing in here. Right when I was about to give up and walked back to the meeting point.
"Wooof!"
"Eh?"
Slowly I turned my body, a wolf stood on top of the hill, its fur was thin and it clung to its frame like a windbreaker in a gale. Even from several yards away I could count its ribs. Its movements were faltering as if each step pained it and its head was sunk low to the ground.
I stayed still while holding my breath. Slowly I grabbed three cards from my pocket. "Razor Paper." I was ready to throw the cards at anytime, everything was in slow motion and once again it barked.
"Wooof!! Woof! Woof!"
.... I didn't feel any sign of hostility coming from the wolf. Its hazel eyes that should be scanning opportunities to eat was full of serenity. It wagged its tail and walked in a circle.
.....
I felt like a jerk trying to kill something because of money and then a stupid idea came into my head. I put the cards back onto the sleeve. Slowly I approached the wolf, its body bore fresh wounds, droplets of blood tarnished the ground. Hesitantly I reached out a hand for it to sniff but it ran for a few meters, stopped and looking at me again.
Does it want me to follow?
I moved closer to it, it continued to run and stopped again. We did this for a dozen of times, Even though It limbs were uncoordinated and it stumbled onto the ground a few times it constantly kept moving like a machine, while I huff and puff to only follow it.
"Ah..."
After crossing many plains and hills finally I understood what the wolf meant. As in some picture of a massacre, many of wolves corpses laying at the ground. Some were full of holes with a pool blood stained the earth beneath them, while others died with only a small scratch.
"...Detect Poisons." Faint green aura illuminating some wolves body, including the one I followed. A foam could be seen from some of the wolves mouths.
"Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof!" It stopped moving and Its bark became quicker and louder. Nearby of its legs were corpses of wolf cubs, it sniffed through the mountain of corpses. Is it thinking I can save them?
Though the wolf was destroying my thought. It bit one of the corpses and dragged it outside. A cub, with fur as white as snow stained with blood. Its front right leg was gone and the cub faintly opened its eyes.
"Oh?! you're still alive?!" Amazement didn't quite cover of what I felt. I felt like someone just took a spark of wonder and poured it onto me.
"Woof!"
The wolf, its mother I assumed, put the cub down next to me and reached out onto hand and sniffed it. Then slowly with she rested her grey head on her paws. Her hazel eyes kept looking at me as if she wanted to say something. This fine animal with no concept of death was ready for her long sleep.
"....Razor Paper."

Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.
