“… she is my sister” «Vlad»

“Oi, oi… Are you serious? Don’t you think that she just maybe coincidentally resembles her?” «Vayne»

“Well, maybe you are right, but the level of her resemblance is really frightening to be a mere coincidence.” «Vlad»

“Then, what should we do? I could see that this would only be awkward for the both of you when she found out… why don’t not just tell her now to prevent any complications.” «Vayne»

“No, that would only turn worse let me take care of this later.” «Vlad»

“Alright… You’re her brother.” «Vayne»

“Now that everyone is present, let’s continue where we left off. This is my two precious girls, Eliza and Erica.” «Nounin»

Nounin gestured at the twin while introducing them.

“Hi, I’m Eliza. Hope we get along well.” «Eliza»

“… Erica, nice to meet you…” «Erica»

Eliza let out a cheerful smile, while Erica gave out a small smile.

Seeing this, Arthur reply with a smile and said.

“Arthur, hope we get along as well.” «Arthur»

“I’m Setsuka, sorry for the inconvenience and I’m looking forward on our stay, Eliza-san and Erica-san.” «Setsuka»

Setsuka said so as she gave them a small bow. The two seeing this somewhat showed a curious expression of what she was doing, but still took it as a greeting.

Nounin nodded seeing this and continued the introduction. Vayne as if signaled, stood up from his seat.

“Now, this person here is Vayne. He’ll be the one who’ll be relaying my orders. Also he’ll be supervising the two of you of the rules inside the house and also the one who’d decide of what sort of punishment for any misconduct.” «Nounin»

Vayne, listening to his speech, growled silently in his heart with the troublesome job that was pushed on to him.

“Please look after us, Vayne-san.” «Setsuka»

“Yes, please look after us, ‘Boss’” «Arthur»

“… Yeah, let’s get along well, Setsuka… and Arthur” «Vayne»

What Arthur said to Vayne got him irritated but he somehow hold it in while he make his reply to the in a slightly, unnoticeable irritation. He made a glance towards Nounin but his gaze was evaded skillfully.

After exchanging greetings, Nounin had the three of them to tell what they had experience in the academy after dinner, starting from their first day.

Vayne and Erica had unconsciously backed off at the same time and force the narration to Eliza, who weren’t happy about it was forced to her and it took a very long hour to narrate everything.

Yet, she didn’t even bother making the story shorter, instead made it more exciting as it took longer causing Setsuka to be excited and desired to go to academy along with them.

After the long hours, they finally finished telling everything that had happened and they mean everything. Nounin only listened to them narrate the story from the beginning, he’d showed different sort of expression from being surprised, happy, dumbstruck, furious, and worried.

At the end of all, he was just glad that they are now safe from harm. He doesn’t had the heart to force the girls from going to Ghuizheal Academy because if he tried telling, they would surely hate him so he could only pray that something like this would never happened again.

After seeing how late it is, Nounin had everyone go to their quarters to rest for the day. Vayne had notice Nounin’s intention so he was the last person to leave and followed everyone as they walk through the corridors just to disappear before the turn.

On Nounin’s Study, he stood by the window looking afar when someone knocked before coming in and went ahead to sit at the sofa facing towards the fireplace. That person is Vayne, who disappeared from the group just to rendezvous with Nounin.

“I know you had a lot of questions, so you may go ahead.” «Nounin»

“Why did you appoint them to be part of the Branch?” «Vayne»

Just as Nounin offered Vayne to speak first, he immediately went and asked ahead without a hint of hesitation.

Nounin just walks towards a certain corner and began preparing something, then he came towards Vayne holding two cups and offering it to him.

Vayne took the cup and examine the content of the cup. It was an herbal tea, good for a calm mind. After taking the cup of tea from him, he went and sat close to him, also facing towards the fireplace.

“How is it?” Nounin asked as he sips from the tea, Vayne sip a small amount from the tea and tasted it a bit bitter.

“Bitter…” he replied with a bitter expression. Nounin could only wryly smile at him.

“I see…” «Nounin»

Placing the cup and the stand beside them and face towards him, looking carefully on his face.

“Why did you do it?” Vayne inquire Nounin once more, but this time he answered him.

“A person, whom I don’t even recognize, requested me a favor… he gave me a keycard of a hotel and a piece of paper with the writen address of the hotel. But, before he disappears he told me to take the child there in. He never said whom he is or even why I should do it, but neither the less I somehow accepted the request and went to the hotel.” Nounin pauses for a bit to have a sip of the tea before continuing.

“After arriving to the room, what I first saw is a girl sleeping on the bed, vulnerably open. Bewildered, what brought me back was a boy sitting leisurely on the sofa as if waiting for someone. I ask him if they were the one who I should take in and he answered me with a yes, then he began telling me their circumstance.” Nounin leaned back to his chair and stared upward.

“What I found out is that the girl, Setsuka, seems to be an otherworlder that got suddenly transported to this world. At first I couldn’t even believe it myself, but as soon as the girl woke up, I then completely believed her after hearing her part of the story. The world of her is similar to ours but more advance in technology and magic there are only a stage shows.” «Nounin»

Vayne, listening to his explanation was completely taken a back. His facial expression reveals how shocking the story is.

Heck, he didn’t even expect that his sister would be crossover to this world. He could even imagine how frighten she might had been, suddenly being thrown into an unknown world with no one she could rely on.

He could only feel sympathy for her. Yet, something came up to him.

“Then, why did you have to have them be part of the branch family if you were only asked to take them in.” He asked Nounin with a doubted look.

“You’re right. It was originally to them in as our special guest. But, Arthur suggested a better idea where the girl would benefit better if she became a part of a family. When he suggested about it, what I suddenly comes in mind is you.” He pointed at him.

“Me?” Vayne explaim

“Yes. It’s because of you, I had accepted his suggestion and had them be part of the branch family.” Nounin smiled warmly towards Vayne.

Nounin had a good intention of his action after listening to the story, although Vayne is having a complicated feeling, it’s whether he should be mad at Arthur’s slyness or be thankful because of his suggestion, even though if it’s had a hidden intention.

Although Vayne tried to hide his expression a bit of it were shown and Nounin noticing it interpret it as displeasure, he could only ask Vayne to give them a chance.

Vayne notice his misunderstanding, but excluding Setsuka, he had to give Arthur a chance. But for all he cares, he knows that if he put him into one word what comes in mind would be “Riddle”. If he tries to decipher him, it would only cause him a lot of headaches.

After finishing their talk personally, Nounin expression suddenly change and started a different subject.

“Vayne, report of what happen on the incident of the kidnapping.” «Nounin»

“Yes.” Vayne response as he began reporting all that he saw and experience.

Not just what happened, he also shared to him about the information that he “encounter” while on that island, about the mysterious assailant. He also tried to inquire something that might had interest this assailant, but Nounin acted as if doesn’t know anything that person might interest in.

Vayne knew that this something is very much confidential for normal person to know of or hold of.

So he could only conceded and continue with his reports.

After finishing his complete summary report, he looks carefully at Nounin’s face as his eyes were close as he thinks about the report. And when he opens it, he already had a resolute on his eyes.

“Vayne, remove any hostile that you may encounter as you protect the girls indistinctive as possible. Have Arthur as your back-up if you find the situation unfavorable for you. I will arrange some of the trusted guards to be personally trained by you for the limit of your stay here.” «Nounin»

“I will obey the commands of the head.” He said so as he gave a bow before leaving the room.

After he arrived back to his room, what he found waiting inside is two people, one is lying on his bed while the other is reading through his notes.

“Why are the both of you doing on my room, touching my stuffs?” «Vayne»

The two people he is talking to is Arthur, who’s invading his privacy and reading the notes that he wrote.

“Well, I had something to talk to you about…” Arthur said while still skimming through his note concentrated.

Vayne went towards him and took back his notes and place it back to his study table. Yet, Arthur still took it and went away further from him, avoiding any attempt for the book to be taken back.

Soon he gave up and look towards the person he has been ignoring. That person is Setsuka, who fell asleep on his bed from waiting.

While staring at her, Arthur spoke up while still reading through his notes.

“What do you think about her? I know that you already knew her from Nounin.” «Arthur»

“Well, for one I could say pitiful… to be suddenly be thrown into an unknown place where the common sense is different from theirs. I could only imagine how frighten she might been.” Vayne answered in a low voice but still audible for Arthur to hear.

“Arthur, tell me how she got transported to this world… even if I heard it from Nounin, I still couldn’t get myself to believe it.” «Vayne»

“Sure… better yet, why not let herself tell the story.” «Arthur»

Without waiting for his reply, Arthur walk close the bed then rolled the pieces of notes and hit her in the side making her wake up. The strength that he used weren’t very strong but enough for her to start waking up.

Groaning a little, she looks around the room half-asleep and stopped towards Vayne then mutters something that shocks him before rubbing her eyes.

“Onii-chan…” «Setsuka»
