Chapter 17
In the field where the weather condition is hard and loud, visibility and communication were greatly been hindered by the weather.
Vayne's team is currently located at the tree bridge, where they had just finished crossing the bridge.
Right now they are now about head around the building, meeting up the group of their opponent, the Vhecule Alliance.
From the plan that he layout, he carefully told the plan and instruction for them to follow.
The plan is to ambush them from their rear side where they most likely defenseless from a surprise attack, and pushing them towards the building to singlely reduce their fighting strength.
Then he would begin the psychological warfare towards his unsuspected opponents, trapping them inside from having them go anywhere outside the facility. Barraging them in different sides as he snipe them one after another.
The loud rain and the noise of the trees make a great cover for them as they progress to them, he separated himself from the girls and went to a higher ground where both the building and the ambush point is visible.
Just as he finally found a perfect spot he lied on the ground then made few adjustments to his position and checked if the girls are still in range on his radio.
"This is Archer, I'm in position. What is your situation?" «Vayne»
["Archer? Well nevermind... Vhecule Alliance are one tough cookie, they had themselves some tough armor and heavy weapons. They are just passing through the ambush point, and radio range seems to hits it limits. Eliza having a hard time contacting you. Should we begin the plan?"] «Erica»
Vayne seems to had realize that he was very much excited right now and reliving Vlad's past mission, where he is supporting as sniper exactly like their situation there in.
Dismissing the thought of it, he looked at their position using a binocular and spotted another problem in his equipment.
—It doesn't have a marking feature.
A marking device is attached to a binocular where the scout marks an individual that passed the data to their teammates to see their exact position.

They would be highlighted in thin red glow that could be seen pass a wall, or seen on their radar as red dot while their team are colored in green dot.
Though the mark would disappear in a passing 10 minutes, it is usually use in a ambush, assassination, or infiltration related mission where they assign a target to a support team.
So not having this feature really put them in a hard position and instead of regretting it now, he focused himself on the match.
"Wait for my go. When I give the signal, fire at the closes target next to you as they make their retreat." «Vayne»
As he says those, he aimed at the head of the closes threat to the girls. And—

—Back to the challenged team, it seems that the Leader left the group and stopped at a high ground where he had a great view. It is a surprise that they gave up on defending, instead took the initiative to attack!" «Commentator»
"Well it's a good strategy for one. If they tried to be defensive on their condition, they would mostly likely to loss—no they would surely loss. So by taking the initiative and using a surprise attack as their advantage they may have a chance to win, depending on their reaction.
If they panicked and retreat to the building to hide, they are in a position where they are force to not move out of the building. This where they will begin the Psychological attack." «Instructor Fujiwara»
"Psychological attack?" «Commentator»
"Let me explain it to you, everyone know about Mental and Physical, right? Well Physical attack to a person would receive a physical damage, even with elemental magic can still deal physical damage to a person's body.
So if there's an attack that can deal physically, then there is an attack that could deal mentally." «Technical Hermine»
"This where the Psychological attack come in, right?" «Commentator»
"Correct, Psy- in Psychological means mind. So dealing from an attack from a psychological attack can't be easily withstand with a weak mind, those who had a strong mind can't be say that they are immune to the attack.

If they put their guard down, they would be easily affected by a psychological attack.
Because if they were to hide themselves on the building exactly like this, they would feel anxious or stressed because they don't know where they might attack. And peeking out from the wall is also worst decision because they might get taken out. Pressuring them very much so they could make an awful mistake.
And even if to say they don't have any losses from the ambush, the anxiousness from the member at the rear would rise because they, who had outnumbered them, are forced to retreat." «Instructor Fujiwara»
"Won't they just use the spotlight from the building to light up the surrounding? It easier for them to use it to find them through the forest after all. The light would eliminate the dim visibility of the storm." «Commentator»
"Yes, they could also use that. The light from the spotlights is strong enough the almost light up the forest because it is on the higher ground.
But there is a problem, the cable connecting to the power box is located at the side of the building outside, cutting it would cut off the supply that going through the building." «Technical Hermine»
"So they still had the advantage over the Vhecule Alliance. But don't they have a good member with them?" «Commentator»
"Oh, you mean Hime*... She indeed a strong member of the Vhecule Alliance, ranking up from an ordinary Member to a Vice Leader is a surprising achievement. It's may be their hope for this match, but I would still bet it all that Vayne's team would win. Why? Because I know… " «Instructor Fujiwara»
"Instructor Fujiwara really believed in the challenged team this much is really surprising. You were right about the match being this interesting. East vs West, Ace vs Ace. Which team would win? Would it be the Vhecule Alliance? or the black horse? We would see in just a few moments!!" «Commentator»

As the audiences are starting to heat up from the match. Somewhere on the island, seven individuals had secretly infiltrated the school ground wearing a full equipment of the battle suits. Faces were completely hidden because of the dark tainted visor, hiding their identities.
They are much larger than those of the regular players with their suits on. If they were compared to, they are most likely look exactly like a Juggernaut and the regular players look like a Marine from Earth.
“Sir, look like they still haven’t notice us.”
“Good, let’s go just as plan. Team A, siege control of the control room while Team B and C will escort me to retrieve the target when the match ended. Failure is not an option.”
The one who gave the order is worn a different suit from the seven of them, his suit had the same battle suit but his head piece is different compared to them, showing that he is the leader amongst the group.

Somewhere on the island, Arsur is watching somewhere hidden but yet completely able to observe everything is happening on the island, as if he was god himself watching from the sky.
Observing both the match and the infiltrators movements, his face showed an amusing expression as he about to see something even more amazing as he ever seen.
“Now, show me… show me even more amazing! Vayne Aethersell, you are a very interesting existence that I have ever seen.
NOW SHOW ME MORE INTERESTING SHOW, A SHOW THAT I WON’T EVER BE BORED!!”
Hime - it is a name in Japan, meaning Princess. Were-beast uses the same language pattern exactly like the Japanese.

Paladin
When the first derelict alien spacecraft fell to Earth, humanity took what was found in it and propelled themselves to new heights. In their new Golden Age, humanity developed technology that they had only dreamed about. The following years saw hundreds more ships crash into the planet, spurring even greater technological leaps. An unassuming spacecraft, one of the dozens that fell yearly, descended on Siberia in 2021. The world took no particular notice of it. However, this one contained something beyond the miraculous technology that had made humans so prosperous. Three years later, in a top-secret underground facility in eastern Colorado, the automated construction of an army of Paladin Mobile Infantry Suits was underway. With this new, state-of-the-art weaponry, the military would turn the tide against the alien incursion that was consuming the planet. Humanity fell before that could happen. Sam was an engineer responsible for overseeing the facility. Now alone, he lives in utter boredom and near insanity, his only company the base’s pseudo AI and an army of empty Paladins. With the world gone to hell around him, and the things that caused it still living above, he decides that he is much better off staying exactly where he is. Unfortunately for him, that is no longer an option. This is the first novel I've written. The first fifteen or so chapters are going to be a little slower. I want there to be time to get to know the characters before they start blowing stuff up. Also, though the MC will be strong relative to the world, he won't be OP, and won't win every fight. Not every fight will be physical either. Currently, I'm aiming for something like 5 fairly short chapters a week, after the introduction part is done, but we'll see how that goes. Thanks for reading, and please let me know if I've made mistakes!
