Chapter 06

"WHAT?! YOUR ROOMMATE IS—" «Eliza»

The boy in front of her stood from his seat and used his hand to shut her up. Vayne wasn't fast enough to stop her from making a scene, but at least he stopped her from finishing it.

Right now they are currently in a cafeteria, having a breakfast. People around them stared at the three of them for a few seconds before continuing what they were doing. He sat back to his seat and continued.

"You're so loud! I'm already troubled about it, I don't want other to find out about and start spreading strange rumors..." Vayne scolded her quietly.

"*SIGH* So, what did you do?" «Erica»

"Well, what do you think I should do? I don't have any other choice, she doesn't sleep in our room all the time and she said she and the other technical are too busy that why they sleep on their workshop..." «Vayne»

"And you believed her?" «Erica»

"Vayne, you’re too nice as a person, that's why you get fooled easily. So, what’s her name?" «Eliza»

"Sorry ‘bout that…” «Vayne»

He was hesitant for a bit, but still said her name. –Julia Khallen, an Elf race with a mischievous and go-with-the-flow personality. She is like Erica who’s not good at expressing their emotion. But because he had a friend like Erica, he was able to read what emotion she is showing, even though she mostly had a blank look—or a poker face to say it.

“That’s what I think more or less about her, other than that… I don’t know what she is like.” «Vayne»

“Well, I get most part... but what do you mean about ‘mischievous’?” «Eliza»

When Eliza asked his that, he suddenly remembers what happened when he woke up. His face began to turn red from remembering and he could only look down, not saying anything. This made her even more curious, but Erica stopped her.

—As man, his pride would break if it was ever found out.

After their breakfast, they are right now standing in front of their Combat Instructor. The Twins are also with him along with the other new students. What they are about to do is have a mock battle, a Team Battle.

“Listen up and listen well. My name is Fujiwara Izuna, as you can see, I am a Fox of the Beastman. You are to call me Instructor Fujiwara. I will be guiding you for today’s event.”

She walked towards the console on the wall, inputting some complicated codes and a line of weapons, suits and equipment appeared one by one.

They all stared amazed of all the line of weapons and equipment, from light firearms to heavy firearms. She picked up few of the items needed and the mini-armory disappeared from their sight.

“Today you all would be using this weapon, a Semi-Automatic Rifle (SAR). This weapon had two firing mode, single shot and burst shot. Perfect for you all first timers. Next, you will be wearing these suits.”

Instructor Fujiwara then showed them a Dark Green Suit from her other hand. She laid down the gun and suits on the table, then continued her explanation.

“This is your Initial Power Suit. Right now, you still haven’t received you own, so you will be temporarily be burrowing this. Remember, this are just protective suits not an all-mighty armor. Even with this you could escape death but not it's torments.

So gear up and do some test fire in that area. Once done, you’ll be divided into groups. Because this is your first mock battle, you will be greeted by a pairs of seniors. They will be assigned as your team leader.”

Once she had finished her speech, she left towards to next room leaving them with no equipment to equip. A few minute later, a rack full of SAR weapons and Closet of full set of Power suits rose up from the floor.

They were a bit reluctant at first, but Vayne ignored all of them and went right ahead to pick his. One by one, they began to move towards the line of equipment and some began test firing their guns.

The Rifle SAR is like M16 from earth, so Vayne had no problem figuring out the range, damage, weight, and ammo capacity. To the other’s perspective, he was fanaticizing of holding a gun. But for him, he was analyzing the weapon thoroughly.

He fired a few rounds at first, until he emptied out the whole magazine of 26 rounds at the dummy. He felt that the knockback wasn’t strong like he expected and the firing rate isn’t low to the M16. He noticed a stares from the twins, having a curious look about what he was doing.

“It’s like this—“

He explained briefly to the twin, why he was doing all sorts of things like weighing the weapon, firing alternatively between single and burst. But sadly, they couldn’t gasp his meaning, so he made a small demonstration to them. Again, the other think that he was showing off to the two girls, but some just join in and listened to his lecture.

Unknown to him, some of those who understood him began idolizing him, seeing that he knows quite a lot after a few test shots. Raising some popularity, as well as gaining infamy from the rest of the other.

“Now that everyone geared up, you will now be divided into six groups. Looked at the tag on you right-shoulder to see which group are you in, and then gather up in a single location. Group A will be battling Group E, Group B with Group F, and Group C with Group D. You’ll meet your team leader in the waiting area. Now for the Rules—“

The Rules for the Team Battle, they must annihilate his or her opponent within the time limit of 15 minutes to win the match. If the time limit is reached and both side still had few remaining unit, the winner would be decided on who had the higher points left.

The seniors would only be using a single fire handgun for this match. They aren’t allowed to pick up weapons from either their ‘dead’ comrades or enemy. Instead, they are allowed to use hand-to-hand combat.

Individual players can be removed from the battle if either they receive an injury or give up while in battle. Other than that, they can only leave if one side had declared victors.

They aren’t allowed to shot down their teammates. If then ‘kill’ one of his teammates, him and that person are immediately taken out of the game with any further warning.

Now that the rules are said and done, Vayne noticed that Eliza and Erica are in the same group, and it looked like that their group are the first on the list. He on the other hand, their group would be the last one.

Imagining what sort of match they would make, it’s chaos. Judging with his instincts, Erica would be perfect either a scout or sniper, the same for Eliza, instead being sniper she is perfect as vanguard. With the twins great mobility, they are both suited as recon and support.

Vayne, he could use his knowledge from his previous past life that he inquired from 'him', he is more like a jack-of-all-trades. Although he couldn't do it like 'he' does, he could consider being support himself if he had to.

Before the game start, he said a few thing to Erica and Eliza. Though he mostly explained it properly to Erica, he still did so briefly and conceit from the other.
