Prologue Part 1
Year 20XX
Somewhere in Afghanistan
1:39 am
You can still see the city lights even from the distance of a thousand miles, dyeing the sky in a burning red, similar to the description of hell. The Insurgents continue the final struggle with the US Marines as their troops wither away from the assassinations of their leaders.
The air is filled with the stench of their fallen brothers and enemy’s, blood of both party are spilled, the same color of crimson red, same figure of a human in the body of corpses.
As the morning rises, ruins are left from its city as well as the few remaining forces they had left from that air raid. The soldiers of the US Marine Forces are now eliminating the remaining resistance and if everything goes according to plan, in the next two months the place would be free from any resistance.
In a certain area, seven Marines are on top of the highest vantage point of a building eliminating any hostile units that come in their view. Amongst these seven Marines, four are the snipers and one of those snipers is renowned to be their Genius Sniper.
*BANG*
*BANG*
*BANG*
“Ooh, that’s amazing speed.. What did you kill this time?”
“A suicide bomber driving towards our boys.”
*BOOM*
“Oi oi… That’s a… Show me that video that you recorded.”
Taking a peak at the recording, the target was a few more clicks away from the previous shot distance. Plus ordinary snipers wouldn’t even be able to see at that distance more or less then shooting from that distance.
“Jesus…. We have seen a Legend. Sgt. Wendell just created a legend. He killed a bomber driving at 60mph at the distance of 5 km.”
“Don’t make it so exaggerated, it’s just a lucky shot. Nothing more.”
“Heh, just a lucky shot… You just created a miracle and you say that it was just a fucking lucky shot!!”
Sargent Chris Wendell, was a soldier that had amazing eye sight. His sight was said to be half of the eye sight of Superman’s. Not just his eye’s were amazing even his achievements were said to be great as well, getting numerous awards and achievements.

He completed the course for the Ranger, SEAL, and Green Beret, he is also part of the Special Forces. Outside of his Military duty, and he had previously participated in the Olympic games for Marksmanship.
“Yeah, more like I had a feeling that it wouldn’t miss… Something like that….”
“Can I ask you a question?”
“Ask away…”
“Did any one ever tell you, that you are a Good person?”
“Huh? Where did that came from?”
“Just shut up and answer already!!”
“Alright alright, jeez… Yeah, a couple of times. So tell me why you asked me that question?”
“*SIGH* Just forget about it–”
“Captain! Come look at this…”
The Captain was interrupted and was asked to look at the direction where he pointed, as well as Srgt. Wendell looked through his scope. What they saw in the distance was, soldiers and vehicles retreating in all directions away from the center.
“What do you make of this?”
“I don’t know, usually they would retreat back in a distance if a bomb was detected… But not this far from the building.”
What he heard next was not something to be pleased about. In fact, it almost took all the color from his body as he turned white.
[All Units be advised, we received a report of a Miniature Nuclear Bomb activated and will detonated in approximately 14 minutes and 9 seconds. Retreat away from the distance of a thousand miles from the center, HELI EVACS are advised. I repeat, we–]
“This is just, F*CK! Sanders, deploy a smoke signal! We’re retreating!!”
The same time he ordered this the city erupted in many sirens and all the resistance that were hiding suddenly came out to eliminate or block the retreating allied US Marines.
“F*ck, how long till our ride gets here?”
“Five minutes.”
“Alright, everyone! Weapons are hot, take down as many as you can till our ride gets here. We need to get our boys off those hot zones.”
Everyone on the roof immediately fired at the enemy as their allies retreated Shells were raining down from their guns and empty magazines were being thrown away as they waited for a long minute. Some of the enemies found themselves running to the building where they are positioned, charging up from the stairs.

Upon the arrival of their ride, some of their allies had already escaped and the resistance had just come up the stairs and began firing at them. The heli was equipped with a M134 Minigun, so they were immediately dealt with and proceed with the evacuation.
The booges on the ground began firing at them but it was futile due to the thickness of the plating on the heli and they were able to somehow evacuate away from the area.
Gaining distance, they looked at each other before they burst into laughter, after all they somehow were able to escape the blast and it would end this tug of war.
“Hey Cap… after this fight, what are your plans? Would you be continuing your career as a Marine?”
“Hmm… Haven’t thought about it.. You Chris, what’s your plan after this?”
“Well, after this I plan to work as an instructor for the new ‘sweepers’… If it doesn’t work well, then I’ll just return back to Japan and live in the woods hunting game.”
“Ooh… So in the end you will be returning home? Well I think, we should keep ourselves in touch then.”
“Yeah, i think so too. So what are your plans Jimmy?”
“Well I’ll be proposing to my girlfriend and live in New Jersey, I would take up a hobby to kill some time… Maybe play those pinball machines or one of those Survival games.”
“Then let us all keep in touch, after five years let’s have a reunion of our squad. Of course, drinks on me!”
They all had a cheerful chat, even the pilots and its crew couldn’t resist joining in. But on their cheerful chat, a stinger rocket was fired towards the heli, the pilot noticed it coming towards them. But it was already too late, it hit the engine and the stabilizer was damaged causing the heli to turn around and around before crashing.
…
….
…..
*02 minutes and 17 seconds left before detonation*
“Argh… Sh*t, my head hurts!”
The first to recover was Chris, noticing the pain in his lower back and found that his left leg was twisted so badly while his other leg was pierced through by a piece of scrap metal. Two rib bones were broken and his right arm was broken.
He scanned the area to find Jimmy and his teammates were already dead, some of those who were fortunate could only groan or scream in pain. He tried to crawl out of the heli with only his sprained left hand. Arriving at the end of the heli, he fell down to the ground to find his best friend, Captain Dmitri Solomon, pierced through his left lung by a metal rod.
“Oi, don’t die on me now. I still haven’t paid that hundred grand you lent me…” He shouted as he suppressed his friends bleeding chest.
“Ahaha… *COUGH*… It’s no use, we’re *COUGH* already too close to deaths doors…”
“What are you talking about, we could still make it out alive..”
“You know *COUGH* *COUGH*… my son will be five this year… I still *COUGH* haven’t thought about his *COUGH* present..”
“We’ll think about it once we make it back…”
“Hey, Chris where are you? *COUGH* I can’t see you…”
I grabbed a hold of his right hand tightly, ignoring the pain on both of my arms and said to him: “I’m here, stay with me.. Dmitri, come on Dmitri… Answer me, damn it!!”
Even how loud or strong he shook his body, the light in his eyes have already faded. What’s left of his friends are cold corpses, soon he too would follow.
Suddenly from a distance, a second sun had appeared. Using his hand to block out the blinding light, but he could still see it brightly while his bones were projecting through his skin.
Then, everything went white-

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
