Chapter 152: A demon arises
One of the thugs uses that opening and smashes the bat right down to the back of Lu Chen's head. The moment the metal bat made contact with his head, a loud dud sound came out. Blood starts to splurt out from his head, covering the entire bat and covering Lu Chen's whole back. Students who have been looking from afar and have been filming the scene screams from the sight of blood. Heck, even the thug looks in shock at how much blood is flowing out.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Gu Qingshan screams. The orders he gave them were to cripple the kid, not kill him! If that blow to the head actually kills Lu Chen, there will be deadly consequences. I can't let this be pinned on me! Throwing his own henchmen under the bus had become his priority now.
Before the thug could think about what he should be doing now;
Smash!
He fell to the ground, headfirst. The person who attacked him is none other than Zhang Jian. And in his hand, Zhang Jian is holding onto a chair. Lu Chen had told him before the situation might get dirty, so he should grab a weapon. Zhang Jian listens to what Lu Chen said, so Zhang Jian rushed into a classroom to grab a chair. He thought he could make it back in time to help Lu Chen, but it had been too late.
He had seen the whole scene with Lu Chen getting hit by the bat. Rage filled his eyes when he slammed the chair.
"Brother Chen, are you ok?" Seeing Lu Chen just stand there with blood leaking over his clothes made him worried.
Yet, there is no response from Lu Chen. He just stood there, aimlessly. If it wasn't for the fact that blood is leaking out of his head, he would look like a statue. Before Zhang Jian could walk up to him and check if he's ok, Lu Chen starts to move. He slowly wobbles towards the thug on the floor. Before the fallen thug could notice Lu Chen, Lu Chen snatches the bat on the ground and aims for the thug's head!

The blood had made the man snap! The only thought going through his mind now is: I cannot let them go. They wanted to cripple him, so he will do the same to them!
Lu Chen had swung the bat at his face without warning. The moment the metal bat came into contact with the guy's head:
Clunk
The sound isn't loud compared to what the thug did to Lu Chen's head. The damage, on the other hand, is deadlier. Blood splatters everywhere; even a tooth went flying into a bush. The thug quickly holds his face as he rolls around.
"Aahhhhh! My face! My face!" The man screams for his dear life as with that one swing, Lu Chen broke the thug's nose. More blood starts to gush out, and Lu Chen looks down on him.
Even though he could hear the thug wailing in pain, Lu Chen just continues to look at him with a blank face, lifeless. The next second, he begins to maul on him with the bat. It's like the agonizing screams right now aren't enough.
If a person tries to kill you, it's natural that you have to kill him in order to survive. This is the thought most people will have if they're in a life and death struggle.
Yet, it isn't the case for Lu Chen. To be honest, there isn't anything going through his mind as he swings the bat.
As Lu Chen continues to swing the bat onto the thug's face, it got to the point where it became automatic. His body kept going without his mind telling him to do it. The other thugs and Zhang Jian had stopped all motion of what they're about to do and stares at Lu Chen. Even the crowd of students is too scared to move a muscle.

A demon.
Lu Chen had turned into a demon in their eyes. He continues to mercilessly smash the bat onto the thug's face to the point people start to fear him. His expression had been dull, as this sight is an everyday occurrence for him. The only sound going through the entire school ground is the metal bat smashing onto the thug's face while he begs Lu Chen to stop.

The Violet Crown
The story follows the perspective of a logical but chaotic fire mage in a fantasy-medieval world that is entirely hostile to mages. The main character confronts memories of his past as the man who sold the world for power, all while facing similar conflicts in the present while facing off against an oppressive Elven kingdom that spans the continent, led by two identical religious leaders gifted with the ability of foresight.

Zen Chardo is just your average highschool student, at least that's what he thinks but in reality he is quietly extraordinary. Its as if he only exists when interacted with, like he has no place in reality and if it was up to him he may well have faded into obscurity if not for those closest to him. Despite the otherworldliness of these embellishments Zen is in fact human and like all humans is drawn to others, it is through these bonds that he makes his mark on the world... or should I say worlds, for this is a story of adventure and magic in another world. A young man's quest to safeguard the future of those he cares about. This is the story of Zen, the Animus Smith.
8 237Ningen no Tenshi
Follow the protagonist, a high school dropout whose real identity was hidden away as a mystery to those around him, but to himself, he was a dead man walking in the world of the living. 8 191"Elves of the Northern Vale" A Tundrawolf Story
As happened many times in the past the Fell Ice once again charged down from the north and attacked the world in its effort to turn it into a frozen ball of ice. Only the White Magic and it's ally the Sun could stand against such a vast enemy. From their home in the Valley of the Sun the great tribe of Elves could only watch as the monumental fight unfolded. As the battle intensified and the valley became threatened the tribe separated back into their four original tribes and each made their way back to their ancestral homes. Within their Vales, behind thick stone walls and under powerful domes of magic, they were protected from the onslaught upon the earth. The Elves watched for thousands upon thousands of turns as the war raged overhead. The Fell Ice against the Sun and the White Magic were locked in a struggle lasting for an age, with neither side claiming victory as the earth was ravaged. In time the Fell Ice retreated, as it had so many times in the past. Beaten, yet not defeated, only biding it's time for the next attack. It returned to its frozen Kingdom at the Top of the World, thus ending this last Age of Ice. This time, as the earth warmed around them, the Elves remained secluded from the world in their hidden Vales. They observed from afar life returning to the lands and took stock of man becoming the dominant ones as their numbers grew and spread. As the Elves watched they felt safe and secure in their Vale strongholds. They had no idea of the danger that was about to befall them. This is a stand-alone sequel to my story "Druids Bane".
8 102The Systems of the Multiverse - A Guide for the Multiversal Traveler
The Systems of the Multiverse have their issues. I, an observer from outside the multiverse have made it into my mission to tell you, the multiversal traveler about those issues and dangers. This is a relatively low effort NaNoWriMo and Writhathon project. I want to test myself if I can manage 55k words in a month, likely updating every single day until the end. This story is told in the form of an in universe book. Well, I say story... While this definetly won't be great, I still hope it will be enjoyable. I do my best to avoid grammar mistakes and spelling issues, but won't promise anything. Corrections are welcome, this is also an excercise to improve my writing from a technical standpoint. Not from a worldbuilding and character standpoint however, for that you need time. Oh, the keyboards (and computers) that the observer destroys are not real and only exists in story to have an excuse to easily end this story at the end of NaNoWriMo. I also personally like reading LitRPG stories, so this isn't meant to hate them. It might come over that way, but many of those issues are simply fun to think about: what would really happen if the world is so, seen through a lease of negativity :-) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
