Chapter 148: What the hell? Why are you guys after me?!

Even though Lu Chen had asked her, he had already pushed Feng Meifeng behind him. It's like he didn't want Feng Meifeng to see the delinquents.

Somewhere inside the school, Gao Jinhai looks at the scene from a distance. He smiles viciously and smugly at how foolish Lu Chen's actions were. But he sighs in relief. Thank god that idiot walked into his own grave. Gao Jinhai had never given any specific information about what Lu Chen looked like to the butler. The general things Gao Jinhai ordered the butler to tell the thugs were: to go find a student named Lu Chen. And the man had a handsome appearance.

That way, it would make it harder for the Lu family to figure out it was him. It forces them to search for a wide range of people. Tho, Gao Jinhai didn't anticipate the thugs would walk away from the target at point-blank range!

Lucky, the heavens are on his side today, as seeing Lu Chen walk towards them made Goa Jinhai sigh in relief.

"Lu Chen, you will pay the price for humiliating me."

When the thugs saw how Lu Chen is shielding Feng Meifeng, all of them begin to laugh. One of them starts to mock him, "Hey, pretty boy! Do you think you're a hero helping out the princess? This isn't a game, you brat."

"Trying to protect the girl with that sissy body of yours? It seems that you have a death wish."

"Go back to your mom and drink some milk before you come back to play with the big boy."

Each one of them had a comment for Lu Chen. And each one worse than the other as the thugs mock Lu Chen. Handsome people like him are people the thugs despise the most.

"You guys shut your mouth this instant!" When Feng Meifeng heard all of them calling out Lu Chen, it made her face flush in red.

"Oh, to think a girl like you likes a wimp like him. You should go out with real men like us." The other thugs begin to laugh harder. Ridiculing Lu Chen seems to be their number one priority.

Feng Meifeng continues to glare daggers at them. Yes, Feng Meifeng knew Lu Chen is of the cowardly sort, but it didn't mean they could talk to him like that. He had stuck out for her when everybody else had left her to rot.

Lu Chen didn't care how they talked about him as he said indifferently to them, "Why have you come to this school?" When Zhang Jian had made him notice the thugs, he could tell they're after somebody. The only way for them to be even allowed in is if somebody had paid the security guards off.

When Gu Qinshan heard Lu Chen's question, he only gives Lu Chen a mocking look. For him to question his group, it seems that he has a death wish. And seeing how Lu Chen is shielding Feng Meifeng, that mocking expression turns to rage. The moment Gu Qinshan had set his eyes on Feng Meifeng, nobody was going to get in his way from obtaining her.

Despite their smug expression from all of the thugs, Duan Cheng had a different look than them. He eyes Lu Chen up and down. Unlike how the others were mocking Lu Chen, Duan Cheng felt Lu Chen isn't somebody to be messed with. He should have backed away like all the other students, yet he chose to challenge us.

Seeing Lu Chen stand there while facing them, only two options came into Duan Cheng's mind. Either Lu Chen has something in mind for them, or he is just a reckless idiot. Duan Cheng thought it might have been the first one. Is he analyzing us? The indifferent look Lu Chen had been glancing slightly at each one of them.

Before Duan Cheng could say anything to Gu Qingshan, another thug blurted arrogantly, "Look here, you brat! My boss and I are here to cripple a kid named Lu Chen. We're going to break his arm and leg. We'll make him beg for mercy." By saying how they'll cripple a kid, the thug thought it would scare the daylights out of Lu Chen and make him flee.

However, instead of fleeing, Lu Chen just stares at them with wide eyes. What the hell? Why are you guys after me?!
