Chapter 124: I love you

Seeing the number of tears coming out of Kang Shuchun and then remembering her lifeless face as she threw him is a shocking difference. Which one is the real one? To see two drastic sides of Kang Shuchun made Lu Chen confused about which one is the real her. He starts to rub her head, "It's ok, big sis. You didn't mean to kill me. And besides, I gained a new learning experience."

Learning to never underestimate his opponent is something better learning now than later. Lu Chen knows if he learns this lesson too late, it might have caused him to fall.

"But hic, you hic unconscious his sad hic." Kang Shuchun's tears flow down into her mouth. It's making her words sound like mambo jumbo.

Though the tears and hoarse tone is muffling her words, Lu Chen could still make out what the girl is trying to say. Well, the relevant parts. Lu Chen took some tissues and wiped the tears from her eyes. He says, "Big sister, don't worry about it." He begins to smack his chest, "See! I'm fit as a- ugh." If there wasn't a time where Lu Chen shouldn't be playing around, this is the moment. The man wasn't watching his strength as he starts coughing from hitting himself too hard.

"Chen Chen!" Kang Shuchun cries even louder after seeing him cough like that. If Chen Chen is feeling sick, it was because I did that to him. That is the thought going through his mind.

"Big sister, didn't I tell you before? I like a big sister who's smiling more." Lu Chen smiles at her as he continues, "And if you keep crying like this, I can feel the entire day turning so dull and sad."

Kang Shuchun sniffles, and then she begins to chuckle at Lu Chen’s joke, “Mmhmm, you did tell me this. And whenever I cry, you would act like an older brother even though I’m supposed to be the older one.”

Lu Chen hugs her like a little child, “How could I be a little brother when my big sister is always bullied by others.”

When Kang Shuchun was a baby, she was abandoned in front of the Lu Manor. Elder Wu was the person who picked her up, but he couldn’t find any information about who dropped her or who even left her there. The only thing that was left there was her is a pendant with her name engraved on it. Seeing the pitiful baby left there, Elder Wu took her in and adopted her.

Kang Shuchun starts to blush from his words as she asks him, “Chen Chen, when were you so good with your words?” Chen Chen is such a playboy.

“Of course, I have to be good with my words. If I can't, how can I coax my little sister?” Lu Chen jokes. He remembers after Elder Wu had passed away, Kang Shuchun became the next head of the Lu security force. But another valuable information was:

Big sister, you were also my protector. The reason why Lu Chen knew the origins of the protectors was because Kang Shuchun told him. It was one of her last words before she died in his arms. His car was ambushed by numerous assailants one day, and Kang Shuchun paid the price for him to be alive. She became a human shield as she blocked rain gun bullets falling onto him.

Kang Shuchun explains how the protectors were supposed to stop after Lu Chen had become of age. However, she couldn’t live with herself if Lu Chen was injured in any way. So she continued to watch over him even when he became an adult.

The last word that he will ever hear from her was:

“I love you.”

The woman’s heartfelt confession made Lu Chen stunned as this was his first time ever receiving one. He couldn’t respond to her love as she drew her final breath of life in his arms. A smile was on her face as she left the world.

He couldn’t do anything but cry his heart out for his sister. But that crying didn’t last for long. After Kang Shuchun had died, a few weeks later, Lu Chen was killed.
