Chapter 112: The Longing Gazes

When Kang Shuchun is going through her own delusions, Lu Chen arrives at school. However, there's a problem. He missed the first period of class.

As he walks through the hallways, Lu Chen stealthily acts. He crouches down, trying to get into his room as secretly as possible. But what Lu Chen didn't expect is the amount of pressure Lu Chen had on his classmates. Especially the females. Even though Lu Chen isn't there, his female classmates stare at Lu Chen's desk with longing.

How could their prince be absent this early?!

Lu Chen has become the beacon of hope in the class. He's something the females could look forward to seeing every day. But since he wasn't there, half of the students became dull as a rock.

Before the atmosphere could go into no return, the door opens slightly. All of the female students were looking at the door, hoping it was Lu Chen coming in. And it was.

Once the bell rang and spotting no teachers in the room, Lu Chen thought he could casually walk in. But what he got was the entire portion of female students staring him down. It freaked him out.

What in the world? Are all of you girls waiting for me or something? The look he was getting from them was a mix of relief with a hint of blame.

The only person who walked up to him was Zhang Jian. He slaps him on the back as he greets him, "Brother Chen, why are you so late to class?” Before he could get a response from Lu Chen, what he got is:

"Arrrggggggh!" Lu Chen screams in pain as he hunches over, scaring everybody in the room. Even though the bruises doesn't hurt as much when he moves around, touching them is a whole different matter. It felt like a million volts of lightning were lit on his back. Even the slightest touch is enough to make Lu Chen scream from crazy pain.

The gazes of the females turn bloodthirsty from the sight of their adonis being injured. They glare at Zhang Jian, and their eyes are saying, How could you hurt your best friend!

But Zhang Jian wasn't focused on them as he looks at Lu Chen in worry. He had just lightly smacked him like what he usually does.

”I’m fine.” Lu Chen regains his composure as he waves him off. He has some bruises on his arm as well. If Zhang Jian helps him, Lu Chen knows he will be screaming the daylight out of himself.

He gives a gentle smile, trying to display to the class that he is alright. He looks at Zhang Jian and asks him, “Zhang Jian, what did I miss?”

Zhang Jian looks at him as he raises his brows. He wasn't an idiot to not know his friend is in pain. His priority switches as he becomes suspicious. Even if you start listening to class now, it doesn’t mean you will beat me in the contest. He couldn’t believe Lu Chen would actually study seriously. Unless it was due to their bet. He has him his notebook,

“Here, just look at my notes. I have already understood most of today’s lecture.” Zhang Jian didn't mind his best friend having a look at his notes. He knew he was going to win the bet anyway.

But that wasn’t the reason why he went up to Lu Chen. He asks him, “Brother Chen, Are you sure you aren't dating Ye Meixiu?” Zhang Jian needs some clarification of this again.

“Didn’t I tell you already? I don’t see Meixiu as the opposite sex? Why do you keep asking this question?” Lu Chen felt something had happened when he was not here.

“She came to our classroom again and asked where you were at.” Her sudden visit made the class speculations stronger as the two of them are dating. After Zhang Jian found out the two were childhood friends, he jokingly asked if the two were dating. He thought Ye Meixiu would know it was a joke, as Lu Chen has continuously said his stance. But the response he got was completely different from what he expects.

Ye Meixiu’s face started to flush red as she said, “What?! Me and Brother Chen dating? We, we, we, we.” Before she could answer his question, Ye Meixiu ran out of the classroom as ripe as tomato. Her embarrassed expression made many thoughts going through Zhang Jian and his classmate's mind.
