Chapter 70: The Gap

"What?! You've actually done it before?! I was just kidding!" Lu Chen looks at Zhang Jian in pure bafflement at how relentless his friend is for money. But after a few seconds, Lu Chen came to a realization, "Actually, it's not surprising if it's you doing it now that I realize it." He looks back at what Zhang Jian had done during his childhood; selling his naked photos doesn't sound too far off from how he usually acts.

"Hehe, AAt first, I was pretty-" Before Zhang Jian could say how his photos were selling like hotcakes at the beginning, the man wasn't going to give him a chance to explain. Lu Chen had placed his hands over Zhang Jian's mouth, and only mumbles could be heard coming out of Zhang Jian's mouth.

"I don't want to hear the reason why you did it. Knowing you, it's probably something stupid." Lu Chen retorts. Zhang Jian had already done a lot of ridiculous stuff to the point that Lu Chen isn't surprised if he said he sold a nude picture of himself for soda.

"Mmmmmmm!" Zhang Jian was trying to say something, but Lu Chen holds onto his mouth so tightly that mumbles can only be heard from his mouth. And a large amount of spit is going onto Lu Chen's hand.

“What?” Taking his hand of his friend’s mouth, Lu Chen was about to let him speak, but then he notices a large amount of saliva on his hand.

“Eww, disgusting.” Lu Chen starts to wave the excess saliva off his hand, and then he wipes his hand onto Zhang Jian’s clothes to dry it off.

“WHAT THE F*CK MAN!” Zhang Jian never expects that Lu Chen would wipe his own saliva onto his uniform. Before Zhang Jian could scream at Lu Chen, the man had already run away. Zhang Jian didn't need anybody to order him as he follows suit.

“Zhang Jian, chill out! It’s your saliva anyway!“ The moment he saw Zhang Jian chasing him, Lu Chen increases his speed.

“Get back here! If I don’t beat you up today, My name is not Zhang Jian!” Zhang Jian screams.

I don’t care if this was my saliva or not. It’s about the principal, you buttmunch! Zhang Jian increases his speed.

Lu Chen arrives at the classroom first, and when his classmates saw him enter, they greet him.

“Hello, classmate Lu Chen.”

“Good morning, Lu Chen.”

“Brother Chen, good morning.”

Seconds later, Zhang Jian came into the classroom, and the other students greet him as well.

“Good morning, playboy Zhang.”

“Hi, playboy Zhang.”

“What's up, playboy Zhang.”

The only thought Zhang Jian had was to beat Lu Chen up, but all of those thoughts went down the drain. He tears up from the greetings he got.

What’s with the difference in greeting?!

He heard the kind greetings Lu Chen had gotten from the students outside of the hallway. He could sense the longing and blissfulness the girls had for Lu Chen from their voices. Compare to the warm kindhearted greeting Lu Chen was getting, what he got is a soulless greeting using his nickname. But more importantly, only the guys had greeted him. Not a single girl greets him. It was like they hadn't noticed that he came into the room.

Ladies, are you trying to get into his good gracious or something? I know he is handsome, but come on! I'm more good-looking than him! Zhang Jian wants to say it to the entire class, but he couldn't.

After yesterday's incident, the girls in the class gave him the stink eyes. Tho the guys are giving him sympathetic gazes. The only thing Zhang Jian could do now is watch in envy as Lu Chen is being eyed down by all the girls. All that anger that he had now had turned into jealousy.

Lu Chen slightly nodded at them as he said, "Good morning," and walks to his seat. He knew that yesterday’s stunt probably had changed his classmate’s outlook on him. However, he still a sense of awkwardness when talking to them, but he was still able to give a greeting to them out of politeness.
