Chapter 48: Asking Out

"I'm going to ask her out today." A male student said with confidence. He got out of his seat, walking away from his table and towards Ye Meixiu. Noticing the action of this male student, the other males look at him in disgust. Many people have confessed to Ye Meixiu, yet all of them were rejected. They wonder which poor soul is going to profess his love to her and ruin this beautiful scene.

However, when they turn to see who this male was, they immediately look away from him in fear. The guy is slightly handsome with his red hair. But he isn't one of the most handsome guys in the school. If we have to make a comparison, the male student is less good-looking than Zhang Jian. But despite the lack in the looks department, he makes up for it in the materialistic items. Name brand watches, clothes, and bags. These top dollar items that he is wearing would make anybody die in envy.

“Brother Hai, you got this!”

“Yeah, Brother Hai! Go conquer Ye Meixiu!”

Just hearing what those students are saying about conquering Ye Meixiu was enough to make the crowd furious. The two people that were cheering him on are the male student’s lackeys.

Gao Jinhai was a student that is in the same year as Lu Chen. Like Zhang Jian, Gao Jinhai is considered to be one of the top playboys in school. Every week, he would have at least one girl around him, and once he slept with them, he will dump them like they were trash. However, he suffers no consequences as his father is the director of one of the biggest construction firms in S city.

There was this one time that he had gotten one of the students pregnant, yet he had escaped without any harm. He had used his father's money to buy off the girl's family. There was some fight from the family, but his father's influence was too huge for them to do anything. The girl left the school the next day. From everything that Gao Jinhai had done, there were no consequences for it. His father’s money had always bought out the other party or force them.

Even the lackeys who are following him, it wasn't because they want to. It's because of their family's insistence. It was so they could have a better connection with Gao Jinhai’s father.

Gao Jinhai walks up to Ye Meixiu and brings out a bouquet of white roses for her. He asks, "Meixiu, I was wondering if you will give me the honor of going to dinner with you." He gives a sweet smile that could charm any ordinary girl. He even causes her by her given name to make them sound closer. But is Ye Meixiu an ordinary girl tho?

After hearing what he said, Ye Meixiu looks at the flowers first, then looks back at Gao Jinhai, and a smile begins to form,

From that smile, the crowd of boys was beginning to despair as they thought the smile meant she agrees to go out to dinner with the playboy. All of them were praying in their mind that their angel wouldn’t be charmed by his fake smile.

Hehehe, I finally got you now. Gao Jinhai continues with his princely smile, but on the inside, he was already thinking about all the pervert things he would do with Ye Meixiu. Throughout the entire senior year, Gao Jinhai had been trying to get down with at least one of the three great beauties.

Liu Fei Fei was dating Long Shen, and even Gao Jinhai knew getting on Long Shen’s evil side isn't a good idea. And Luo Ai wasn’t some girl to be messed with after what happened to that senior. So the only beauty that was up for grabs was Ye Meixiu. He has been trying every trick that he knows to make her fall for him, but Ye Meixiu didn’t budge until today.

“I’m sorry, classmate Gao. I have a strict curfew, so I cannot accompany you for a meal.” Ye Meixiu gracefully declines his invitation. She already knew what type of personality Gao Jinhai had with women. And she didn’t want to have any association with him at all.
