Chapter 13: Hated Name
When class ended, Xiao Lao Shi walks out of the classroom. The students could hear the loud screams coming out of Zhang Jian’s mouth as he was getting chewed out by Xiao Lao Shi.
The screams grew silent, and Zhang Jian walks back into the classroom. But he looks like a worn-out rag. Before Lu Chen can say anything, Zhang Jian spawls onto the table. It was like his body doesn’t have any bones left inside of him.
“You ok?” Lu Chen didn’t know what else to say but check if Zhang Jian’s soul was still inside his body.
Zhang Jian turned his head at Lu Chen and gave him a look that says; you betray me.
“It’s not my fault.” Lu Chen raises his hand, trying to play innocent.
Tears start to form under Zhang Jian’s eyes. He looks like a puppy being abandoned onto the streets.
Lu Chen couldn’t stand Zhang Jian’s puppy dog face as he sighs in defeat, “Alright, alright. I’ll buy you lunch, how bout that?” He knew what his best friend wants.
When he heard the offer, Zhang Jian’s expression made a 180 turn and made a bright smile, “My best brother Chen, let’s get some barbecue today.”
Lu Chen rolls his eyes at how cunning his friend was, and both began to walk out of the classroom. As they walked in the hallway, most of the students were staring at Lu Chen and Zhang Jian. Lu Chen could hear one of the whispers coming from them.
“To think mophead Lu would still be here after what happen yesterday.”
"He dares to court our goddess even though he looks like that. Mophead doesn't know his place."
“He’s so shameless that I can’t even describe what he is.”

Three students are talking to each other about Lu Chen and trying to do it secretly. But the duo can hear everything they say.
Zhang Jian heard what they were saying about his best friend, and veins start to bulge on his head. He shouts at them, “Why don’t you guys say it to our faces, you bunch of assholes!”
The three students start to shiver as they never expect Zhang Jian to hear them. Just as Zhang Jian was about to punch one of them in the face, Lu Chen stops him,
“Let it go, Zhang Jian. They’re not worth it.” Lu Chen finishes saying his peace and continues to walk out of school.
“If I ever hear you guys talk about my brother like that again, I’m going to grind you two into a paste, got it?” Zhang Jian cracks his fist right in front of the three students showing them that he will actually grind them into mush. The three students immediately nod their heads like a wind-up toy.
Knowing that he already put fear into them, Zhang Jian quickly chases after Lu Chen.
…
“Brother Chen, why didn’t you beat those guys up like you usually do?” Whenever anybody had taken back to Lu Chen, the man would do the most sinister thing to them. But Zhang Jian couldn’t understand why Lu Chen was backing down now.
“You even let them call you that hated name,” Zhang Jian knew Lu Chen detest the name mophead Lu. It was like the forbidden word for him, once said Lu Chen would end the person’s soul for saying it.
“Why should I even care about what they’re saying about me,” Lu Chen said with indifference.

MERTICORE
Meet Ian. Ian is an IT consultant who accepted a supposedly impossible job for an incredible amount of money. However, he quickly learns why his colleagues avoided that gig like the plague. Ian now hates his job, and wants to be fired to get severance pay. However, things don’t go as planned when he downloads MERTICORE, a mysterious program that popped out of nowhere. After that, the life of Ian has changed drastically. Gone are the days of drinking bad coffee while staring at a screen. His days are now filled with magic, fighting weird creatures and even weirder people. Let’s not even mention the comrades he collects along the way, which are more often than not worse than the (numerous) enemies he makes as he bumbles through alternate dimensions. There’s also a disturbing number of laundromats for some reason. Release Schedule: One or two long(2.5k+ words) chapters per week, maybe more depending on real life.

The Harrowbird's Crown
(Formerly: Tales of a Harrowed House) Synopsis: This is the tale of an exiled royal family who, after their bloody reunion on the island of Providence, return to a war-torn homeland where once more, powerful forces pit sibling against sibling in a bid for the crown — and once more, the magical streets of Auctor echo their infamous motto: “Fire will Reign as Harrowbirds Soar!” From his humble beginnings as a shoemaker’s son, his year spent as a daringly brazen orphan caught between rivaling Houses and a mad ghost, and his fight for the crown after his return to Auctor, Corbyn faces a coming-of-age story unlike any before him as he discovers magic and birthright are two things he never knew he had. From the intimate narrative of a childhood that was never her own, her year spent struggling to find the person she is rather than the person her family needs her to be, the secrets she hides, and the truths she finds, Halle discovers herself on the fabled island of Providence as her House collapses around her, bids to enter a legendary school of magic in her homeland of Auctor, and fights for a crown she never knew she wanted. A high-action, character-focused story written with a poet’s styling, The Harrowbird’s Crown is a tale that will transport readers into the conflict and conquest of a royal family back on the rise. General Information: This story is more traditionally plotted. While the beginning may seem to start out slowly, when shit hits the fan: the action is constant, the mysteries are satisfying, and the character development is rewarding. Chapters are usually between 2.5-3.5 thousand words (though some, like the first and second chapters, can run up to 5k words). When it’s long it means that the chapter will just have that much content in it. There’s Action, Mystery, Fantasy, Comedy, and some Psychological undertakings. Romance hasn’t come up yet, but it may in future chapters. I try to have chapters out every Sunday at 7:00 CST Book One: The Ghost of Providence
