Chapter 7: School Part 1
All of the supplies and educational materials are top-tier state of the art and are well kept. But this comes at a price as well. Almost all of the students that go there have a wealthy background. And Lu Chen was one of these students.
When Lu Chen walks into the classroom, he glances around. He was able to remember most of the faces that were there. Some he remembers, others not so much.
But one thing for sure, he felt uncomfortable. Why is everybody looking at me? Almost everybody in the classroom was staring at Lu Chen or murmuring to each other while slightly pointing at him.
What did I do this time? Lu Chen had a wry smile on his face as he realizes he must have done something yesterday. Thinking of all of the things Lu Chen had done in the past, he couldn't think of it. There were too many choices to choose that made his head hurt.
And of all things, it was something that he had done for Liu Fei Fei. The amounts were endless.
Some of his actions were mundane, like making lunch for her. Or trying to ask her out to the movies. Then there were some extreme cases; where he presented 520 roses in a heart or giving her a one million yuan necklace.
Come on, please don’t be the extreme ones. Lu Chen remembers the large cases, and he couldn’t imagine how he had such confidence to do it in front of the whole school.
As Lu Chen continues to think about what he did, an arm wraps around his shoulders, and said energetically, “Hey, brother Lu, how you're doing after what happened yesterday.”
Lu Chen knew that energetic voice as he turns around. The student was standing at 1.8 meters tall. He had a handsome and daring face that gave off a playful and mischievous vibe.

Just as Lu Chen was about to say anything, the boy interrupts him, “ Well, who would be fine after being publicly executed like that.” He sighs and continues to try to cheer up Lu Chen, ‘ Don’t worry, we’ll party all night long to make your sorrows go away.”
“Zhang Jian, I’m fine. You don’t need to worry about me.” Lu Chen said lightly.
Zhang Jian had been Lu Chen's best friend since the start of high school. He was the only person that could stand Lu Chen’s arrogant attitude. The two had been inseparable until Lu Chen and Liu Fei Fei got married.
Liu Fei Fei insisted that Zhang Jian was a loser and that he break ties with him. And that was what Lu Chen did, not caring that he lost his best friend.
Seeing that his friend was alright, Zhang Jian sighs in relief. But he was impressed by Lu Chen’s fortitude, “ Damn brother Chen, how are you not phased being executed like that.”
“What happened yesterday?” Lu Chen still couldn’t figure out what he did yesterday; there were too many to chose from what he remembers.
Zhang Jian gave his best friend a weird look, and he immediately claps his hand as he knew the reason why “ Oh, I get it. The damage from what happened caused you to go into denial, right?
“...”
Lu Chen had forgotten the type of personality that Zhang Jian had. Despite being a great friend to Lu Chen, he was the type that had no filter and jokes around too much with Lu Chen.
Annoyed, Lu Chen wanted Zhang Jian to get to the main point, “Zhang Jian, are you going to tell me or not? Imma just asks others then.”

“You really don't remember what happened yesterday?” Zhang Jian wants to double-check if he actually doesn’t know.
Lu Chen turns around, ready to go ask other people. But Zhang Jian stops him. He said, “ Ok, ok, I’ll tell you. I thought you were joking but damn, how could you forget about Liu Fei Fei dumping the lunch box on top of your head.”

Scorched - The Winter Winds (LitRPG)
Frank Ebner once wanted to save the world. Let the second one be better than the first. On Earth he was a student of... well it hardly matters anymore. It was dying, and he and the rest of his fellows and friends studying how to stave off the end graduated just in time to be told it was too late. That there was not enough time, funds, will, to stop it anymore. That the governments and the worthies of the world had moved from trying to stop it, to surviving the oncoming apocalypse, while blaming each other. That was a world Frank wanted nothing to do with. One riven by wars for places in the Archologies going up, and between them and the dying world they were leaving behind. So when a strange voice offered him a way out, to a world unmarred by the poison killing his? Frank took it. The voyage changed him, made him fit his new world, one of stats and magic. It came with perks, for in passing through their Heavens, they'd been exposed to Divinity, and taken some of the Celestial within them. Heroes now, but there are heroes, and there are Heroes. The nobility of the Empire care only for those who carry blessed bloodlines, and their time to adapt and train up for the new world is limited. Patrons are scarce among those like Frank, with only the base Hero perks, and magic studies expensive and lengthy. Often requiring heavy Oaths to gain the necessary aid to wield mana as a mage. Frank found another way. It nearly cost him his life. Now on the run and burned by the very magic he sought and craved, he is a pilgrim traveling to the The Eternal Tree, font of Perseverance. Frank hopes Ir-karlak will grant him some way to recover from the fires that scorched him. Without snuffing out the embers those fires lit within, for he has learned to harness them and he would not give up magic for the world. *** In the last 21 days, as I update this, I've managed about 18-19 updates. So Scorched should update most days, muse willing. She's fickle, sometimes. Not every day, but most. If there's an update for the day, it will be at 7PM, GMT+2. *[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Actually completed it. :) *

I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room
The universe is a very strange place. It will take even stranger heroes to save it."Absurd. Existential. Ridiculous. Tragic. Comic. The antiheroes of "I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room" are a kind of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern with space packs, inadvertently colliding with their destinies against a starry background of witty wordplay. With a vision as sprawling and limitless as the loveably goofy universe in which it's set, Browning's wit, wisdom and heart are always at play, combining to form a wonderfully panoramic and very silly heroes' journey that visits every trope of its overlapping genres and draws moustaches on all of them."- Marcel St. Pierre, author of "Vengeful Hank" and "Cliché and Wind Go Hitchhiking".(Sci-fi /Dark Humour/Absurd) *Completed!
