《Ghost World Academia》4-Missiing Memories-II

“Alicia Arkwet, who is she?” Jau-Unfurn who sat in her class quietly couldn’t help but just think about the whole situation over and over again. She avoided that question from Ryuga but she just was not ready for even Ryuga of all people to forget about such a huge matter just like that.

She was expecting more from Ryuga. Hence, her expectations were crushed and that led her to sadness.

Jau-Unfurn just said one single thing and ended her thoughts with it,

“Humans, I shouldn’t have taken any help from a human...”

Ryuga walked with Dakai to their classroom. On their way, they converse with each other.

“So, Ryuga what did you do at the Printing Press? Did you find something related to the case of Illuminati there?”

Dakai asked Ryuga since both of them did go visit the Arkwet’s Printing Press.

“Not really. But I don’t know why I feel like I am missing something important.”

Ryuga says. Even he is unsure about what that something important is.

“Are you?” Dakai asks Ryuga. “I don’t know...But I feel like it is quite an important thing.”

Ryuga walks into the classroom with Dakai.

As Ryuga walked into the classroom with Dakai, he felt a strange chill go up his spine. The strange chill came when a girl passed him. She was about the same height as him and wore the same school uniform, a black shirt, red tie, white blazer and the only difference was that Ryuga wore white pants and the girl wore a white skirt.

Dakai being the delinquent he is always kept his blazer open without a tie but Ryuga kept it open because he felt really hot inside that blazer and he wore a tie. On the other end, the girl that passed him was well-dressed in that manner. Even her tie was properly knotted, unlike Ryuga whose tie seemed like it was knotted in an emergency.

The girl also had huge assets. Her hair was specifically quite long yet it didn’t felt like she was a witch or anything like that. In fact, she looked like a pampered princess. She sat on the 3rd bench of the middle bench. Means she sits 2 sits behind Dakai.

“Hey Dakai, you know something about that girl who is sitting in your bench column?” Ryuga asks Kirio. He specifically pointed at that girl.

“I dunna man, that weirdo who sits behind me might know something. His name was Clayton something. The only thing I know is that he is a demon. He might know something about that lady over there.” Kirio states to Ryuga. Ryuga nods in response to Ryuga’s answer.

“Mister Aragi and Mister Dakai, tell me, tell me why you two are blocking the door?” A familiar mature female voice asks them. Ryuga and Kirio both turn around and look at their teacher Freda standing behind them. “Sorry about that Miss, we were just admiring the beauty of this class.” Kirio looks to be quite nervous.

“Is that so? I clearly heard you two talking about some lady now, was I wrong?” Kirio looked quite surprised by the fact that Freda knew about their conversation.

Ryuga looked at Kirio and asked him, “What’s so surprising about that? Elves have special hearing capabilities. Even though it’s not as good as the Kitsunes or Inuzus, it still is quite good.

For example, if you are in trouble she can come to you even from a long distance.” Ryuga shares his knowledge with the other worlders. This draws everyone's attention in class. “What else do you know about us Elves, Mister Aragi?” Freda asks Ryuga.

“Let’s see, I know that your battle instincts are supposed to be the best in the world. That’s the reason why most of the Elves can defend themselves from everyone else even if their mana capacity isn’t that great. They have great battle instincts which help them assess the situation and fight back.” Ryuga shares more knowledge.

“Anything else?” Kirio asks Ryuga. “Oh yeah, one more thing, an Elf’s ears never fall numb even when they die. The only time they fall numb is when they are hor-“

Freda shuts Ryuga’s mouth before he could complete his sentence. She was clearly using magic and blushing, “That’s too much information, Mister Aragi. So let’s not talk about that.” Freda says. Ryuga nods.

She releases Ryuga from her binding spell and Ryuga is able to speak again. “Damn...That was something.” Ryuga says. “Anyways, Mister Dakai, Mister Aragi, please take your seats.” Freda says. Both make their way to their seats.

“I had one more question for you, Mister Aragi. How do you know so much about us Elves?” Freda asks Ryuga. “As a horny middle-schooler, I had fantasies about Elves and Kitsunes, so I used to read a lot about them in our middle-school library.” Ryuga raised his hand explained.

Everyone looks surprised by Ryuga’s answer. “I understand...” Freda says and then coughs.

“Anyways, let’s talk about magic today. Of course, everyone has limiters but did you know that limiters and magic are two different things. The limiter is something you would call your body’s true nature and potential while magic is something that uses that nature and potential. Every one of you has mana flowing within your body. I am pretty sure you all know that. You might also know that mana capacity is what you call the amount of mana your body can store.

So, let me tell you some new information. Information that is unavailable to humans. In our world, there are 7 Classes of Magic just like hero-tiers. Those classes are Beginner and Novice magic which anyone without any limiter can use with a little effort.

Class Apprentice and Basic magic which only ones who have broken their second limiter and known their natures can use.

Class Veteran magic which can be used once you break through your third limiter.

Master Magic, breaking through the fourth limiter helps you use it.

Finally, Grand-Master Magic, It’s as you guessed, the fifth limiter needs to be broken before you use that Grand-Master Class Magic.

You can also use this magic if you have a massive mana capacity but that's very rare.”

During the explanation, a student raises their hand. That student is a human as well just like Kirio and Ryuga. There is a huge difference between him and Kirio and Ryuga though. That student is much more disciplined and well-mannered. Not to mention, he has a very nerdy straight hairstyle which makes anyone who looks at him think he is a straight-up nerd.

Other than that, he does have a well-built body. He isn’t in anyways weak. He has to not be weak if he was to enter the Ghost World Academy. In fact, in the whole class when it comes to body, Ryuga has the scrawniest body out of everyone.

“Yes, Mister Sashimi, what is it that you wish to ask me?” Freda asks the nerdy student to ask his question to her. The nerdy student asks the question as soon as he stands and bows in front of the teacher.

“What happens if we try to use level 3 or 4 magic even though we haven’t broken through the 1st Limiter?” The nerdy student asks. “Please have a seat, Mister Sashimi.” Freda orders and the nerdy student sits.

“Now, if you haven’t broken through your first limiter, you shouldn’t even be here. It just means you will be a burden to everyone else. Secondly, Mister Sashimi, if you try to use magic that is greater than your mana capacity.

Your body will explode, your blood vessels, veins and every single thing inside your body will slowly start to explode and once your body explodes, you might die and if you survive, you will never be able to use magic ever again. That’s the harsh truth about that.” Freda explains the demerits of using magic that is higher than your mana capacity.

Ryuga raises his hand this time. It surprises Freda. “What is it, Mister Aragi?” Freda asks Ryuga. Ryuga doesn’t get up but he looks right into Freda’s eyes.

“I am someone who has not even broken through the first limiter.” The door to the classroom opens as Ryuga is speaking, “So does that mean that I don’t deserve to be here?” Ryuga asks Freda.

Everyone looks to be quite surprised by Ryuga’s comment and the most surprised was the person who had just entered the class. Freda ignores Ryuga’s comment and looks at the person who has entered the class.

“Oh, it’s you Miss Revons. Didn’t you say that you had school so you couldn’t come?” Freda asks Mayumi. “I bunked it. It was quite boring.” Mayumi says. She takes her steps into the class and stands next to Freda.

“Dude...Isn’t she like your ex?! This must be quite awkward.” Kirio says to Ryuga but at this time Ryuga couldn’t pay attention to what Kirio was saying. All he could do was think that for some reason, Ryuga hated Mayumi.

He knew that it wasn’t because Mayumi broke up with her but it was some other reason. That reason that sowed the seed of hatred within Ryuga’s heart for Mayumi was very particular. He just couldn’t put a finger on it.

Everything seemed calm. Freda was introducing Mayumi, she said that Mayumi was here for just some inspection and there is nothing else to it but soon, Ryuga muttered some words from his mouth that the whole class heard, “Alicia...Arkwet...”

This sudden spurt of words surprised Mayumi and Freda but not only that, Gordon who heard that was also surprised.

Gordon was informed by Jau-Unfurn that Ryuga had forgotten everything about Alicia but this sudden development even surprised Gordon. Ryuga said it again and this time he was even more clear, “Alicia Arkwet.” He said it again, “Alicia Arkwet.” And again, “Alicia Arkwet.”

Ryuga thought over and over again that why he kept on remembering that name but he just couldn’t remember why it was that he remembered that name.

Both Freda and Mayumi looked at each other’s faces. They were clearly shocked and they were sweating from the fact that they are hearing that name from Ryuga’s own mouth over and over again. “Oi Aragi, are you alright?”

Suddenly, Kirio stopped Ryuga’s train of thought, “Oh...Yeah, I am fine. I am alright.” Ryuga says with a nervous smile. Ryuga couldn’t stop thinking though. That name just popped up in his head over and over again.

At this point, Ryuga thought that he has found something but it just feels weird why he can’t remember that certain name. He can’t understand why that name is so important. He doesn’t understand why he cares so much about that name.

Without wasting any time, Freda asks Ryuga the question, “Where have you heard the name?” Ryuga was totally confused by that question.

It was as if he didn’t know how to answer that question. In reply to Freda, Ryuga could only say, “I don’t know, I just thought of that name as soon as I saw Miss Revons enter our class.”

Looking at Mayumi who is walking towards Ryuga, Kirio quickly whispers to Ryuga, “Oi Aragi, your ex is coming your way.” Kirio says. “I know...” Ryuga says as he looks at Mayumi who has stopped right in front of him. “Miss Revons huh?” Mayumi gives Ryuga a scary smile.

“Come with me, I have questions for you.” Mayumi says to Ryuga. Ryuga sighs. “Fine.” Ryuga knew that he had no choice or else he would face Mayumi’s wrath. “Good luck dude...” Kirio gives Ryuga a vote of confidence. Ryuga gets up and walks out with Mayumi.

Mayumi and Ryuga stand in front of each other, “Yesterday you stop my fight with that Ogre. Now you take the name of the traitorous Ogre as you know her. Tell me, how do you even know about the Ogre? We haven’t leaked the information that the traitor’s name was Alicia Arkwet. So how do you know about that person?” Ryuga was just straight-up confused by Mayumi’s question.

It was as if he knew yet he didn’t know what was happening. His mind was jumbled in two pieces, almost trying to figure out what is true and what isn’t.

Mayumi sighs and stops midday before Ryuga breaks down, “Alright, you don’t need to tell me. Just tell me, how is your head?” Mayumi asks Ryuga while breaking her own eye contact with him. Ryuga sighs, “My head is fine...”

Ryuga soothes his own head with his injured left hand. “Huh? How did you injure your left hand, idiot?!” Mayumi quickly looks at Ryuga’s injured hand. Mayumi was acting but Ryuga looked like he didn't know what was happening.

“Umm...I don’t know...I think that it’s an important injury but I don’t remember how I got it.” Ryuga says. “Enough with your jokes! I know that I was rude to you and we broke up but that doesn’t mean that you can do whatever you want. You are injuring yourself over and over again, like seriously, what the hell is wrong with you, idiot?!” Mayumi gets right into Ryuga’s face. Mayumi and Ryuga being close to each other made them remember their moments together.

Just then, Ryuga felt a menacing touch on his shoulder that is worse than death. Ryuga slowly turned around with a nervous face. “Hi...Jau-Unfurn.” Jau-Unfurn stood there silently, smiling as if she was ready to kill off Ryuga in an instant. Mayumi quickly backs off.

“Ryuga, why are you with Mayumi?” Jau-Unfurn quickly questions Ryuga. “I was the one who invited him to have a chat. After all, he seems to know your sister Alicia Arkwet. That’s really surprising.” Mayumi was speaking but Jau-Unfurn looked surprised by the face Ryuga remembered Alicia.

“Your sister? Is Alicia Arkwet your sister Jau-Unfurn?” Ryuga asks Jau-Unfurn. Jau-Unfurn nods, “Yeah...She is.” Jau-Unfurn looks sad. It’s because Ryuga knows about her sister and yet he does not. It is a weird situation for everyone including Jau-Unfurn.

“Anyways, I will be going now. I hope you aren’t a part of the Illuminati, Ryuga. That’s all I wanted to say or else I will personally have to come and kill you.” Mayumi walks away from Jau-Unfurn and Ryuga after that comment from her. Ryuga looked at Mayumi and thought, “Didn’t you hate Ghosts?!”

“Ryuga, do you really don’t know anything about Alicia?” Jau-Unfurn asks Ryuga.

“I wish I knew about your sister so that I could help you but honestly, I don’t know anything about your sister. I can only remember that name for whatever reason. I don’t know why, I feel like she is quite an important person.” Ryuga’s answer was very clear but Jau-Unfurn thought that only if there was even a little hope maybe Ryuga might know something about the whole situation.

Unfortunately, that was far from the case. Ryuga really didn’t seem to recall anything.

~GHOST WORLD ACADEMIA~

Ryuga and Kirio walk onto the train leading back to their world together. It seems like Jau-Unfurn and Gordon both had some work to take care of so they didn’t stick together with Ryuga and Kirio after school ended.

“Aragi, that name Alicia Arkwet, why does it sound oddly familiar?” Kirio asks Ryuga. “What do you mean?” Ryuga asks Kirio.

“Back then, when you were muttering that name over and over again. I felt like someone was screaming that name inside my head. It was almost as if that name held some kind of significant importance. I just can’t get why. Why does that name keep popping up in my head over and over again?!” Kirio stared blankly at the dimensional space that they are going through. Ryuga had the same thought as Kirio.

Even he couldn’t put a finger on why that name was important but he knew that it wasn’t a name that he could easily forget.

The train arrives at their station and both Ryuga and Kirio get off, “Alright, I guess I will be heading home.” Kirio says to Ryuga. “Yeah, me too.” Both Kirio and Ryuga say their goodbyes to each other and leave on their way.

Though Ryuga stayed for a few seconds and looked at the train before leaving. He was hoping to see that human girl he saw this morning. “She didn’t come huh? I wonder if she actually is even human...” With that comment, Ryuga walked up the stairs that led outside the underground station.

As soon as Ryuga made it out of the underground station he saw dripping drops of rain falling from the sky. “Tsch! It’s raining.” Ryuga says with that annoyed tone of his and quickly runs to the shade next to the underground station stairs.

Ryuga stands there quietly for quite some time but it looked like the rain won’t stop. “What’s with the rain?!” Ryuga looked really annoyed. After all, he just wanted to get to his house but he didn’t want to get wet in the rain.

Suddenly, Ryuga looked at the road and realized something. “Something is wrong...I have been here for almost 15 minutes. I haven’t seen people nor vehicles no birds or anybody.” Ryuga realized that something is wrong. The only thing he can see is heavy rain. This makes Ryuga concerned about the situation. He isn’t ready for this exact situation.

Soon, a mysterious figure starts walking towards Ryuga and Ryuga notices that mysterious figure walking towards him, “Who are you?” Ryuga asks the mysterious figure. The figure wore a familiar mask and had a familiar body structure. As soon as Ryuga saw that figure, he realized who that person was, “You are...That mysterious person from my dream.”

“Ryuga Aragi, you saved my kindred. I am grateful to you for that but the other one is going to invite death.” The mysterious figure said to Ryuga. “What?! Who are you talking about? I just don’t understand anything.” Ryuga was totally confused by the whole situation.

For Ryuga, this situation was odd. He couldn’t even remember the last dream he had about that person but he knew that the dream was quite important.

The mysterious person realized that something was wrong with Ryuga, “I see, your memory has been erased. You have no idea about what is happening.” Ryuga got even more confused,

“What?! My memory has been erased? What are you talking about? What memory are you talking about?” The mysterious person touches Ryuga’s head.

Suddenly, Ryuga goes into a loop of different memories and his memories come together. He started to remember every single thing that has occurred since he was born and finally, he remembered the main memory that was erased, the memory of him from when he visited Arkwet’s Printing Press.

“Save my little Jau-Unfurn, Ryuga. That is my only request for bringing back your memories.” Those were the parting words from that mysterious figure.

Ryuga woke up with heavy breathing and looked at people gathering around him, “Are you, okay boy?!” Everyone had gathered at the bus stand near the underground station.

It was quite odd to see a high-school student sleeping on a bus bench. “No, I am fine. I just was tired I guess.” Ryuga said as he got up with his bag and headed in the opposite direction from the road that leads to his house.

~GHOST WORLD ACADEMIA~

In front of a huge building named Arkwet Printing Press, Jau-Unfurn looks at a newspaper printed by Arkwet’s Printing Press, “Everyone has forgotten about my sister. It can only be your doing...Ryan Arkwet.”

Jau-Unfurn determined to get to the bottom of all of this has decided that she will break into Arkwet’s Printing Press. Only time will tell, what things await her inside Arkwet’s Printing Press.
