《Spirit Of The Forest (Dropped)》Chapter 11: Criminal Hero

Den’s POV
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”
Something could be seen falling from the sky. On closer inspection you could make out the figure of a person.
Boom!
The person landed on the ground creating a crater about ten feet in diameter and about two feet deep. The figure extricated itself from the newly created floor art. Then started to curse at thin air. The figure was of course Den. The reason he was cursing? It was the because of a certain box that made its appearance.
Teleportation Successful… Player has been teleported to entrance of City Of Gaia
Den was cursing with increased vehemence.
“Fuck. Shitty system. You trying to kill me!?”
As if the system was listening another box appeared as if to mock him.
Negative… Falling from such a height is unable to kill player...
“Unab… Unable to kill me?! What did you do?! Drop me from a height where it would drop my health to 1?!”
Affirmative… Player will now go into a unconscious state to recover… Chance of dying while unconscious: 11.4%
“Wait a-”
Den was about to start protesting, but it was at that time the system forced him to faint. Right before blacking out he thought.
If I find the god who created this system I swear I will hit them. Be damned my soul I just want one good punch to the god’s face.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Argh”
Den stirred while groaning. He felt something odd. Like the inability to move his arms or legs freely. He tried straining his arms, all that came out from his efforts was a clinking sound. Den opened his eyes and looked around. First thing to notice. He was in a walled room with a leaky roof. The only light came from something above him that he couldn’t see. Turning his head Den checked to see what was stopping his arm movements. It was manacles. Large metal cylinders that attached him to a wall. He checked his leg and found that they were tied up with metal chains.

So I wake up to find myself locked to a wall in a empty and musty room. So two options are the most viable. One I’m in a kinky sex dungeon or two I’m in a jail cell.
It was then that Den heard footsteps approaching. He focused back onto the door. With a clanking sound someone walked in. The light was too dim to make out the face, but from the figure he could tell it was a female figure.
Ok… I wasn’t being serious about the kinky sex dungeon, but I might have to rethink that.
Den’s mind was starting to wander and right at the moment he felt a pain in his stomach. The figure had kicked him.
“Owww”
“You're lucky that’s all you're getting you bastard”
The voice had a cold connotation to it. It was dripping with anger as if Den had just killed the one person she respected. Then as if forgetting the words she said earlier the girl raised her foot again and kicked him again, this time even harder. Den coughed out a mouthful of blood then looked up at the figure.
“Why?”,Den asked while having a pained look on his face.
“Why!? You ask why!? You murdered the one of the only nobles that actually treated commoners like people!”
“Murdered? What? I haven’t even been awake long enough here to actually meet anyone let alone murder a noble!”,Den protested.
“Then how do you explain your clothes and dagger with the Earl Zeon’s blood on it.”
“My clothes? Dagger?”, Den looked down at his body. Instead of the clothes that he wore from his original world he saw a one piece cloak like thing on himself,”What! These aren’t my clothes!”
“Yes? And the dagger with blood isn’t yours either?”,the girl said with a voice dripping with sarcasm.
She isn’t going to believe me. What to do. Could this actually get worse.
Den was thinking this before hearing even more footsteps coming from the still open door. Another person walked in. The silhouette looked male. And it was confirmed when a gruff voice spoke some words that sent chills down Den’s spine.

“We are going to execute this man for killing a noble.”
“What! No! I’m innocent I tell you!”
Den started struggling to get out of the chains. The man strided forward two steps before kneeling down a slugging Den in the chest. Den felt the air leaving him as he went limp.
Dammit! I need to get out, but how?
It was then when a blue box popped up.

Den debated quickly between the options then thought to himself.
I’m not taking my chances even if I become a criminal I can redeem myself as the hero someday. I choose option 1!
Player must speak the option they wish aloud.
Really? Ugh. Fine I’ll be able to escape soon after anyway.
“I choose option one”,Den rasped while trying to take in more air into his lungs.
“What are you mumbling about!”
The man kicked Den in the chest. Den felt the air he was getting back leaving his lungs again. The man raised his leg to kick Den again, but more footsteps were heard. Another figure ran in. Den’s vision turned blurry from the consistent kicks couldn’t focus on the figure, but it seemed to be whispering something to the silhouette of the man before running out of the room again. The man ran after him shortly after. He was now alone with the girl once more.
Choice 1 has been chosen teleporting player to new location.
Den felt himself float a bit before landing hard on his back. This time the system just teleported him to a new location. All around him were trees with thick foliage all around. A new box appeared.
Player has entered Mother’s Tree Dungeon(Beginning Layer)
“Well not the best place to be, but anywhere is better than that jail cell”,Den said outloud.
“You would think that wouldn’t you”
Den froze. Not because of the voice, but rather because of the feeling of something sharp on the back of his neck.
Oh no! The system didn’t do what I think it did.
“Move forward to that tree in front of you”,the cold voice sounded again.
Den complied while walking slowly towards the tree directly in front of him. Stopping only when he reached the trunk. He then felt something behind him, the thing shot at a inhuman speed instantly wrapping him up and making him hug the trunk of the tree.
“Flip him over”
The thing which Den found to be a white ribbon seemed to obey the girl’s command and changed his position from tree hugging to target dummy.
The light streaming from the trees finally revealed the girl’s face. She had black hair with obsidian black eyes which emanated hatred. Her lips showed her displeasure. Even with the anger however Den could see she was a beauty, but less on the girl’s face, more on the dagger pointed at Den’s chest which Den could feel several painful points on already.
“I might as well kill you right here. Trying to escape is enough grounds to execute you here and now. I’m glad, I’ll be able to kill you with my own hands. The person who dared kill the only one that ever cared about the common class.”
And with a raised hand took a stab at Den’s chest.

Myth of The World's Trees
And Simon answered their call with a single statement that nobody understood "Et super mos absit hoc hodie!" "Yah!" "WWWaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" "AAAlllllaaaaallllaaaaallllaaaa!" "EeEEellllleeeeeelllllleeeeeeuuuuuuu!" I, too, yelled a battle cry at the top of my lungs. I had no idea what Simon had just spouted but from Camilla's giggling, I could guess that Simon thought that spouting nonsense was his way of getting out of the earlier predicament. "I forbid death upon this day," Camilla said. "What?" I answered a bit at a loss. "Ancient Latin," she replied smugly, "He said 'I forbid death upon this day'." I laughed aloud "Then he is gonna be really disappointed in everyone here," Camilla did not reply and instead took a deep breath. I did the same, zoning out everything in my surroundings. The environment became a world of electrical pulses traveling across several networks. I perceived the world through my lightning and sped my heartbeat to inhuman levels. I was present now, at this moment, at this point in time. I could feel the electrifying air saturating my lungs, the electrified ground vibrating at the rhythm of the approaching enemy. Then I took a step forward, everyone followed in tandem. Camilla the first, and then the others. Then I took a second step, and this time everyone followed simultaneously. Third step… Fourth step… Fifth step… Then light jogging… Speeding up… Running … Running faster…. Then suddenly, everyone disappeared into motes of light particles that re-constructed itself hundreds of feet above the horde, dozens of miles away from our initial position. We were literally 'diving' into battle.-------------------------------------------------------------------Despite a rough childhood in the slums, Omari had everything a guy could want - a loving girlfriend, an understanding sister, a wonderful teacher, and his dream job.
