《Spirit Of The Forest (Dropped)》Chapter 6: Glade Of Peace

Tana’s POV
Tana was watching from behind a tree, rather cliche, but she didn’t have anywhere else to stay out of sight. The boy started to stir after a while. He opened his eyes and groaned clutching his head as if in pain. His adorable face was contorted in great discomfort. Tana wanted to come out of hiding and cuddle the child, but she had to stay hidden.
The boy seems to recover somewhat and started wandering off in a direction. Tana slowly followed him staying far enough to not be noticed while staying close enough to see the boy. The boy continued on his trek, after two hours of continuous walking the boy seemed to stop. Then he vanished from view as a tree blocked Tana’s sight. She didn’t see the boy come back into view.
Tana sensed something wrong so utilized her speed to rush towards the tree. What she saw was empty space. The boy had vanished.
Awww great! He’s gone and I’m lost.
Tana was about to despair when she heard shouts.
“Princess? Princess are you here?”,yelled a young male voice.
Tana recognized the voice. It was one of the royal guards.
“I’m here!”,she shouted.
“Princess!”,a royal guard in his late twenties yelled as he ran from a distance away.
The guard reached Tana with a smile on his face as if relieved then said.
“I’m glad you're safe Princess. After you vanished with the assassin, we started sweeping the area to try to find you. Teleportation magic usually can’t get to far so we tried our luck by spreading out.”
“What!?”,said Tana thoroughly confused,”but I wasn’t nearby at all. I was following the assassin for almost two hours.”
“Two hours? But Princess from the time you were gone until the time I found you hasn’t even been ten minutes!”
“Impossible!”.Tana replied.
It was definitely two hours, unless… the boy used magic to make my perception of time speed up? No that can’t be right.

“Princess I would suggest we get back to the other guards. Are we going to continue on into dungeon?”
The guards words snapped Tana out of her thoughts and she thought for a moment before replying.
“Yes, we should head back. Also I’m calling off the dungeon dive, I need to report this occurrence to father.”
Tana and the guard started running. After five minutes they were in the clearing where they had their battle against the mushroom horde and murder deer. Surprisingly the deer was still dead on the ground while no mushroom bodies were in sight.
The dungeon must have absorbed the corpses, but why not the deer’s corpse then? Strange things are occurring here. I’ll need to report all of this to father.
“We are heading back because of the circumstances. I need to report to father about this attack anyway.”,Tana ordered.
“Yes, Princess, and what of the assassin? DId you kill him?”,a guard asked.
“No”,replied Tana shaking her head,”he vanished.”
“Then we should place a bounty? We must bring that assassin to justice!”
“No!”,Tana said almost shouting. Everyone looked towards her in confusion.
:I mean, no I will talk with my father and we will figure out a plan of action. For now let us head back.”
“Yes Princess, we obey!”,all the guards shouted in unison. Scaring off some birds that were in the nearby trees.
The guards then turned and started the long trek out of the forest. Tana looked towards the tree that the boy vanished from.
Boy I owe you for bringing me back here, but next time I will find you and get some answers when I do.
Evan’s POV
So what happened to Evan after he vanished from behind the tree? He used teleport again which knocked him out for an even longer duration because of the teleport he had used earlier. Of course Evan wouldn’t have needed to take such measures if the Princess wasn’t following him. He had to take great pains to lead her back to where her guards were.

After waking up from another round of teleportation, Evan started heading for the beginning layer of the forest. He then moved towards a specific tree and walked straight through it.
Beyond the tree was a large glade with paintings everywhere along with a bed in the center of it all. With the sounds of birds singing and sweet smelling flowers growing throughout. The place would have felt like a garden of eden to anyone who entered it.
See, living for over a hundred years would bore any individual. So aside from mastering weapons Evan has taken a great interest in art. He got so good in fact that his paintings started gaining beneficial effects such as increasing the regeneration of mana and calming the mind. Evan even began calling the place the Glade Of Peace because of its peaceful atmosphere and ability to ward off any monsters from interrupting the peace.
Evan then walked towards the bed he had created. Even though Evan didn’t really need sleep as a spirit of the dungeon he still liked the feeling of sleep. Before he could reach the bed however his foot bumped into a square object. It was a book. The hero’s book to be exact. It was the thing that Mirana kept imitating so Evan stole it, hiding the story away in embarrassment.
The book was a story about how a hero saved a princess from a curse and their antics as they traveled across the continent to vanquish the demon king. Really cliche stuff, but the story was popular with the kids, so of course it would be the gift to give to Mirana.
Even though mother isn’t a kid she still acts like one sometimes. I can’t really blame that human for giving it to her. Heck, at least he made our lives more interesting. Pity that he's gone.
Evan smiled to himself a bit and picked up the book before continuing to walk towards the bed. He then fell onto the bed it's fluffy mattress and soft blankets enveloping him before he sank into sleep.
