《ASTREA - A Game of Different Realities》Chapter 14

It is currently 11:42 pm and the road is bustling with people who are entering and going out of the city. There was nowhere to sit, so I was left standing alone at the west gate waiting for the meeting time.

Luckily, as soon as I got bored counting how many people passed by, Aria was waving at me for my attention.

"Here, Cherry!"

Aria and her group attracted a lot of eyes when I saw them. It is not because of her shouting, but because their equipment was eye-catching when place in the middle of noobs running around.

Maybe also her beauty, but I am not a judge of that. Although, I admit she was attractive even for a girl like me who I might say a beauty herself. Michelle was quite an outsider among us if we are talking about appearances although she was still fair at our age.

But we do not care about all of these. I just went away with the topic because their current equipment really made them the centre of the stage.

"Wow! You have caught up really quickly. Your shoes are also new. What did you just do alone, and why did you not include us, Cherry?"

"You're the one to talk. Look at both you and Aria. If I do not know you two, I may think that you're a group of professionals try hard gamers. The hell with that sword, it looks scary."

"Hehehe~ It looks cool right. We got it from Living Undead, a boss zombie monster. Luckily, I won the roll for this."

"There were only two of you in the party that uses such weapon anyway."

"Just how far did both of you go. The last time I check, you were still level 5."

"Not that far off. I'm level 7 while Michi is level 6. She is behind because she is stupid."

"Not my fault that you did not follow me to kill the Living Undead."

"We were still planning how to engage it while you just went ahead because you wanted to get his sword that badly."

"Did both of you swap accounts? The Michi Mochi I know should not be this active."

"Right!!! Michi is like a whole different person when we partied. It's like I'm babysitting a child."

"Oy! I hear both of you."

My drowsiness faded away when talking to them. How I miss this friendly exchange even though we have been apart for half a day only. Playing games with them is really a different story. We might continue with this light conversation for hours if not for the thing I remembered.

"What's the stat of your new greatsword, Michelle? I got this axe from a boss and was planning to give it to you, but it looks like you have a better one already."

"Let me look at it… Wow! This is almost in par with my Tomb Stone."

"Aria? Maybe you have plans on changing weapons."

"I'm going to pass up this one. Stabbing people with a sabre is more fun than it seems. I think I'm I won't try new weapons any time soon. But if you don't know what to do with it, how about you sell it in the New World Forums. Items, especially weapons, come and go fast in the market."

"That's my last option, but if neither of you wants this, I will do it after I log out. How about you two? Any plans on sleeping. I feel like both of you can still go for at least two hours of grinding."

"You bet. You're logging out already?"

"Yeah. I'm tired. Sorry if I can't party up today, but I'll make sure I can tomorrow if you don't leave me behind too much in levels. By the way, where's the other member of your group?"

"Looks like they got impatient and left while we were chatting. I don't care anyway since they're only temporary. We can find new ones along the way. But expect I'm going to make sure that you'll have no excuses tomorrow, Cherry."

"Don't worry. See you tomorrow."

"Bye!"

I clicked the logout button and I return to the real world.

It was already midnight and I have yet to post the Steel Axe in the forums. Doing it tomorrow is an option, but with the rate people are levelling up in the game, its value will be significantly lower if I do not sell it now.

Signing in their website through my phone, I quickly made an account to be able to access and post in the market.

There were two options when selling an item. Either you place a buyout price or add an auction timer after setting the initial price. For now, since this axe's value would depreciate like crazy, I'm placing it with a buyout price.

Thankfully, there was no identical item to compete with.

It was a slight problem though to have no identical items in the market because the value of the axe is a question mark. The only way to estimate its value is by comparing the prices of weapons in the same category. After a rundown of lists, my buyout price for it would be 450g or 4500b$.

bitDollars or b$, in short, is the international currency of the internet. Instead of having a different conversion rate for the currency, they have created an easier way to spend and gain money online.

Currently, you can purchase 1 gold for 450b$. However, since the sellers of this gold are from a third party and ETHER has little to no influence at it, this might change quite soon.

There is also limit how much you can buy because there is no supply of gold yet. No one can purchase more than 100g per individual. Creating a fake account and buying on that account is not possible because of how tight the cybersecurity is. Expect that the difference between gold and bitDollars will lessen when players gain more in the future.

"That's a lot of gold for a level 6 weapon an- Oh! Someone has purchased it already. Blessed to the buyer, Richest Asian. Too bad. I wanted it to be gold, but I'm going to take b$ anyway."

Now all of that was finished, it was time to sleep. I made sure to set 5 alarms consecutively to wake me up surely after sleeping so late.
