《Heaven's App》Ch 13: The Weakest Class

Liam stood in front of a huge wooden door at the end of a hallway, together with his 9 other classmates.
He didn't remember a stadium in the school of his original life.
'Now that I think of it, I got lost earlier and just realize that the school became bigger...'
After waking up, Nathan said that they would go to the school's stadium for the match. He couldn't believe it at first but...
"I guess a new world equals improvements..." He mumbled after yawning his tiredness away.
"Hey. Are you really gonna fight? I mean you just woke up."
Liam glanced at Nathan beside him and spoke.
"Yeah, I've been training lately."
"Eh? What lately? You're very much just a weakling yesterday."
Nathan stared at Liam with a look of disbelief... And stupidity.
'Right... I forgot...'
"It's fine though."
Liam glanced back at him and questioned.
"Why?"
"Huh? I think there are more people weaker than you. We're the last class after all."
"Huh...?"
"Aren't you in the section because you're also weak? Even me who have a slightly above-average strength is considered top in our class." Nathan said as he scratched his extremely messy hair.
Liam's eyes twitched as he looked at him.
'Fuck.'
Whether it's the fact that their team was the weakest, or the fact that Nathan kept calling him stupid, he could only cursed inwardly.
Soon after, the large door open and a circular field with a stage in the middle, surrounded by stone benches, came into their sight.
The group of five people, including Liam and Nathan, walked into the side of the stage and on the opposite end, another group appeared.
Liam looked at his surroundings. Over 100+ students were watching them from the sides. They didn't fill the entire stadium but it was still considered many. Some were from their class, while the rest were from the other three classes supporting their classmates.

It seemed like a match between other classes already occurred, making them the second batch of groups to have a battle.
'What even is the battle?'
"Alright, kids. It looks like we're facing off against the 29th class..." Their male teacher spoke lifelessly.
As they heard that, the students besides Liam and Nathan, groaned. They suddenly lost enthusiasm to fight.
"Huh? What does that mean?" Liam, who was not aware of anything happening currently, asked smiling Nathan beside him.
"Hm? It means we lost by default." Nathan replied as he continued to pick his nose.
Liam tilted his head by the sudden exclamation.
"How?"
"They're the strongest out of all the class in today's game."
"Oh... How are the teams distributed?"
"Two rounds of two students fighting another two students and the last is one versus one."
'The matchup is complicated... Well, maybe he made it a bit complicated, but still...'
Basically, from what he heard about his teacher's explanation just now, was about how a team would win.
A team of five would be separated into three groups.
Two students from the two different teams would be matching in the first round, where obviously, whoever defeated an opponent first would immediately win. The second round was the same.
While the winning rule in the third round was the same as the other rounds, it only consists of one student per team, and the winner of the round, if somehow his teammates lost two rounds, would be able to fight and defeat two students from the opposing team to win the match.
And giving up or being seriously damaged was considered defeat.
'Being seriously damaged, huh.'
He slowly walked towards his teacher.
'A simple, but humiliating game.'
"Teacher. I'll be on the last round." Liam said firmly, making around him turned their gaze towards himself.

"What are you talking about? Nathan will be the last round since obviously, he's the strongest out of all of you."
"That's what the other team will think too. They would put the strongest in the last round and Nathan will definitely lose."
His teacher and his classmates heard it and made a helpless expression.
"And since Nathan isn't on the other rounds. Are you 100% sure our team would win?"
Liam paused to let his words to engrave into their minds before he continued.
"That's why put Nathan in the 2nd round then we'll win two rounds."
The teacher sighed and spoke.
"You mean one round, right? What does it change, we will still lose."
Liam scratched his cheek.
'Oh, right. They barely know me and my prowess.'
"Uh... At least, we won't have to face complete humiliation."
As his classmates heard that, their complexion suddenly brightened. Even the teacher made a faint smile.
"Oh, right. Maybe a miracle will happen and you'll become really strong... Like how you suddenly became smart today." Nathan said with his straight face.
Liam frowned as he looked at him, while the teacher and his teammates laughed.
"Alright, I don't know how you thought of this but, let's do as you planned." The teacher said.
Liam smiled.
"Yes."
Several minutes later.
Liam kept watching from the side as the matches went by.
In the first round, his team lost.
It started from the opponents activating their Sprint skill and immediately rushed started attacking them with punches and kicks.
The two students from the opposing team pressured one of Liam's teammates in the ring and eventually the other one admitted defeat.
Liam wasn't surprised at the result since they already expected it.
But in the second round...
"What... What the hell did you do, Nathan...?"
Liam asked Nathan who have bruises on his face.
"Well, the enemy said to me to come to him and I did come to him, but I didn't know they were smart enough to do a double attack," Nathan replied without a slight change of expression.
"It... It was obviously a trap and you didn't even realize it...?" Liam frowned.
He also have this expression which clearly told, "So who's the stupid one now, huh?"
"Well, I guess I'll be the one to end this..."
The teacher behind them sighed before he spoke.
"Yeah. Just surrender when 10 seconds passed. It's a little bit better than hurting yourself."
"Right..." Liam smiled faintly.
'I should win this for them...'
Ding!
Liam grabbed the phone from his pocket.
