《Of Life and Light》Chapter 52

Nox scampered away from his mother's room the moment he awoke, as he desired not only for something to fill his belly, but to find his father to finish telling the story. One that he found of great interest, despite holding elements which should not be told to children such as himself and his friends. These were, by the by, illegal to be shared with children beneath the ages specified under the Laws of Terra within the worlds under the rule of the Terran Pantheon.
However, as they were all within the Castle of Perpetual Midnight, such rules and laws could not be used against those within. For such was under the direct control of the God King, of whom created such Laws, Rules, and Guidelines, but was not under any obligations to carry out such a thing. Therefore, he did not mind them until he was outside of his home, whereas all others must continue to follow that which he had long ago created.
The hybrid child, on the other hand, cared little about such laws. For he was a child, and was allowed to remain as such until his body and mind became of age where he would no long be required to act as such. And at this time? He only wanted to hear the rest of the story.
"Papa," his voice mewed in a loud manner, one which reverberated throughout the castle's halls. This was done so, by the by, as he continued to dash towards the dining room. Or rather, towards the direction his nose was taking him. For the smells of something delicious was being cooked, and although he rarely paid heed to such a thing normally, he found himself being ever drawn towards it.
Yes. This led him to the dining room where he found their table being laden out with foods one would have when breaking their fast after a long rest. "Uu," Nox's eyes widened greatly at the sight, his tails wiggling whilst a few strands of saliva dripped from his small maw.
However, the moment he stepped into the room, his body was lifted high into the air where a pair of large mounds beneath a white robe greeted his backside. Of which caused his to stiffen up until he looked up and into the face of a white furred Kitsune with a pair of sparkling endarkened eyes full of amusement. "Hello Nox," the female smiled softly at the child, who was then subjected to a light petting of his head as she gave him a gentle squeeze.

"Hi Miss S," came his muffled reply against her robe, his tails swaying ever so slightly. For she was called The Mother by those who did not truly know her, or Sakura to those who did. This was so, as she led a not-so-secret society of Kitsune, Fox-kin, and Fox Beastfolk who were trained as Ninjas.
As to the purpose? "For training," she would smile at their inquiry, and would speak nothing more of such a topic. Therefore, most tended to leave her be.
The reason why she appeared within the Midnight Castle was to drop off her twin children, Maya and Mia. This, as well as to bother the Ageless who was reported to be within the halls was what called her away from her mountainous home upon the world of Konaku. For she was in love with the God King, but could do nothing beyond doing her best to tempt him away from his wife, Sarah.
Unfortunately for herself, he would not leave her side, as he was of a rare breed that only desired one wife during his lifetime, and would not step into the bed of another. Therefore, all she was able to perform was a teasing show that would promise him everything he desired in a female, but as previously stated, it would all be for naught.
In any case, Nox was lifted over to a section of the room where a small clothed table sat with four cushions around it. Whereupon his eyes were greeted by his two friends, Maya and Mia who waved up at his person. Of whom also pounced onto his body once he was placed upon the pillow next to Mia, and she did hug his body whilst nuzzling his neck. Yes. Maya did join in on the little pile of fur, and the three would spend much of their time exchanging their scents with one another before settling back down at the table.
Whereupon their little tails wiggled greatly as small platters of meats, vegetables, and sweet fruits were placed before their persons by the same Elven chefs who were tasked with creating such dishes. Here, the trio thanked their persons as they dove into the foods as a ravenous animal would. For though they were intelligent, the children still held the same animal instincts as what is represented by their appearances. Therefore, as any animal would, they tore through the foods until only a few smears were left, but those were lapped up as they sniffed around for more to consume.

Yes. The trio were given more until they each leaned back with content smiles upon their lips, and patted their bellies. Whereas Sakura simply chuckled silently as she also ate what the kitchen gave up to her. Of which was soon discarded, as Sarah and the Ageless stepped into the room with their arms linked to one another.
The pair themselves wore the same outfits as one would normally view them with. Such as the Goddess with her ever changing dress, and the crimson vest and trousers upon the endarkened fur of the God King. However, what was most peculiar, to the Mother's eyes at least, was the fact that the Kitsune male's features held a glimmer of contempt for the female upon his arm, but such a gaze quickly evaporated once they fell upon her own person.
Of whom then shivered from such a sight, as the gaze of he who was their King always caused her immortal heart to flutter with strong feelings for him. Unfortunately, his wife knew of her romanticisms for her husband, and frowned greatly every time she was present.
"Morning Ageless," called out the Mother, who then waved from her seat along the right side of the dining room's table. However, though her gaze for the male was warm and inviting, for the other it was cold. One which caused the air temperature around her person to drop as she spoke aloud, "Sarah," with her eyes drooping ever so slightly, but filled with even more contempt than what was previously viewed.
"Sakura," replied the Goddess, who also caused the air to drop around her person. So much so, frost was quick to form upon her husband's arm.
"Enough," growled the God King as the entirety of the room shook from the rumbling of his voice.
Yes. The pair did cease in their antics of hatred for one another, but by snapping to attention and saluting his person whilst barking, "Yes! Sir!" Afterwards, they did fall into a fit of giggles whilst he sighed and shook his head slowly. For although the pair desired himself, only the Mother was too late when he desired a female to become his wife. Therefore, the Mother resented her person for such a venture, and only somewhat accepted such a thing even after all this time.
"Papa," cried out Nox upon noting his father and mother in the doorway, "Mama," and bounded towards their persons with glee. Whereupon the pair did scoop him up into their arms in order to embrace his body close to theirs, and to kiss and nuzzle his head.
"Papa," he mewed softly as his mother kisses the top of his muzzle, "Story."
"Hmm," hummed his father slowly, then peered down as he noted Mia and Maya making their way towards their persons. Whereupon he did reach down and scooped them into his arms with Nox being in between Mia and Maya, much to their delight. "Very well, but first we must regale the twins of what had occurred from wherever we had left off with them, before resuming the story at hand. Understand?"
"Yay," crowed the hybrid child, whilst the twins turned their heads upwards with some confusion.
"What kind of story?" inquired Mia, whose ears twitched and extended to her sides whilst her eyes widened. Maya, upon viewing such an antic from her sister, decided to mimic the action, but also added a puppy-eyed gaze into the mix.
For which the God King did sigh as he brought the trio up closer to his muzzle. Whereupon they were each subjected to a nuzzling of their necks, much to their delight. "Do you remember the story that was told to you three and Anasi before each of you returned to your homes?" Yes. The pair did remember, but only after Nox reminded them with what had occurred, "Yes, but it has now pressed onwards due to Nox's enjoyment of what I have imparted upon his ears."
Unfortunately, his own speech confused the twins greatly. That is until Nox chimed in with, "I like the story, and we kept going." Afterwards, he did beam up at his father as though expecting praise for breaking down the words he had spoken. Of which he was given, but as a pat on the head.
"Um, Ageless," called out the Mother, of whom gave a look of worry, "Is what you're going to tell them going to give Maya and Mia nightmares?"
To which he gave her a somewhat incredulous look before speaking once more, "With Nox here with them, I hardly believe anything I say will frighten their little hearts. Nor will Command allow such a thing."

Exuperius [DISCONTINUED]
Terravest. The northernmost continent of the world known by many names of legend, but is most commonly reffered to as Athora, has, for eons, served as the land of exiles. Human criminals, dark elves, grayskinned orcs and dwarves that preffer mining with machinery over the traditional pickaxe alike, have come to call this half-frozen hellhole their home. It is a land of great strife, calamity and crisis, where one legendary tale ends only to begin the next, heroes fall down and villains find themselves thrown into lava. Around seventy years ago, a legendary figure appeared out of seemingly nowhere and conquered three human nations, forming a kingdom worthy enough of being called a small empire. However, at the eve of his heirs ascension, the legend breathed his last, leaving this same bloated, chaotic realm without the pillar that kept it together. Already, the carrion nobility, still spiteful for being denied their "rightful" place below the sun, rise up and gather at the court, each eager to consolidate their own power in these troubled times. Tempers flare, power is exercised without restraint and no one expects the hedonistic prince to succeed at keeping the realm together. Alas, as is often the case with such tales, not everything seems to be as it might at first appear and the vain lords of the realm may yet come to regret their carrion will. --- The Content Warnings are there for a good reason. ---

I was Reborn as the Villainess but I will become a Great Sage
Nova Allandis, formerly known as Suna Lee, remembers her previous life and realizes her current life is as the villainess in a fantasy novel she once read. However, as Suna, she was the laziest person with no motivation, possibly attributed to the fact that she didn't go into a major that was her strongest suit. Now that she has a high affinity towards magic and wishes to go into it, will she be able to change her lazy self for the better, or will she go back to being lazy like the villainess in the novel? Can she become a Great Sage and live life happily this time? Note: This is not a "revenge of the villainess" novel, but rather a "rise to fame" novel. A/N: This is just an experimental novel and criticisms are much appreciated, but I'm extremely defensive of my own work and characters. If you are here to put down a novel, please remember, first of all, you are not paying anything to read this, and second of all, authors are humans too.
