《Of Life and Light》Chapter 31 [Sarah]

Sarah sat across from her son at a long wooden table of polished oak on the ground floor of the Library. There, she watched with a slight smile as he slid from one end to the next with widened eyes and his tails wiggling in every direction. Yes. She was the cause of this new form of play for him, but it only served as a distraction from the revelations she had learned from reading the Story of her husband.
To which she sighed slowly, stretching out the upper half of her body across the unnaturally cooled surface of the wood with a sigh. Upon lifting her head, however, she noted Nox was staring at her with perked ears as he sat within a few centimetres from her face. "Mama?" he mewed softly, his head cocking towards his right shoulder.
This led to her pulling him close to her bosom, where he closed his eyes with a, "Yay," and did his best to hug her as tight as he could whilst his tails continued to wiggle in every direction.
"Mama?" his voice was muffled as Sarah stood up slowly, taking them to a brown hued spherical item which stood still near the table they had occupied. Of which was of one and a half metres in diametre and gave off a sort of bead like texture when one sits upon it. Yes. There was even the sound of such beads softly grating against one another as she sat herself upon it, slowly sinking into it. However, such a thing only conformed about her body, creating an indenture of her shape whilst remaining comfortably upon it.
As to what it was called? Well, such a thing was referred to as a "Bean Bag Chair", even though it was not a chair nor contained any beans.
"Story, Mama," mewed the child once more whilst he snuggled up against her abdomen. Afterwards, he did peer up at her person with upturn eyes full of his widened pupils. For he had begun to use his deadly "Puppy Eyed Stare" upon her, of which she was the most susceptible to, and gave in almost immediately every time.
Therefore, she simply sighed whilst her eyes closed and nodded several times. Of which elicited a, "Yay!" from Nox, who leapt from her lap to bother one of the nearby Librarians. This, in turn, caused the Goddess to become curious as to why he would do such a thing, then noted within a few moments that the creature was bringing another tired and yellowed book towards her person. Whereas the child danced around it with great glee before hopping back onto her lap as the book was handed over to her.

Once she received it, however, a sudden, but brief and sharp pain resounded throughout her skull. To which she gripped her head whilst hissing softly, but it was gone almost before she even began the hiss. "Mama?" Nox's eyes widened as he stared up at her person from his position on her lap.
"I'm okay, Nox," she pat his head a few times, which caused him to giggle at the attention whilst she felt the nine tails on her son's backside try to wiggle against her abdomen. "So? Shall we continue the story?" This was inquired, as an odd light flared into being behind her eyes, of which neither she nor her son were aware of.
However, before she was to continue on with the story at hand, her brow furrowed whilst she read the words upon the pages to herself. This would lead to a long stretch of silence, as Nox frowned and yowled a loud, "MAMA!"
Startled, Sarah's body jumped a few centimetres within her seat, then peered down where she spotted the child puffing up his cheeks as he glared up at her. "Sorry, Nox," she murmured softly, scratching the top of his head slowly. Of which calmed him down enough to remove the glare, but it turned into a pout.
"Story, Mama," his left paw pat against the page she had been reading, his pout growing larger.
"This part of the story is too dark for you, Nox," her son's eyes widened, knowing full well that such words meant she would not continue on with where his father had left off. Which led to his eyes to tear up greatly, threatening to spill over as his nose scrunched up whilst he sniffed loudly.
Yes. She noted such a thing, and how could she not. For it meant that he would soon openly cry, summoning the Chosen, the Living Armour, and her husband. Of whom would be sorely disappointed in her, which caused her to grow fearful, but she didn't understand why.
Therefore, she sought to quickly remedy such a sight with, "No, no, no, no. It's okay Nox," This was spoken as she held him close, her ears flat against her head as she wiped his eyes free of any tears whilst they rocked side to side, "Just because it's too dark doesn't mean I can't summarise it for you, then continue onwards with the story."

"Really?" asked a small voice which was followed up by another sharp sniff.
"Yes really," her voice, still containing frantic excitement, calmed down the child's worries, but he still had a pout upon his lips.
"Now, what is written here states that your Father and Brutus fell upon a camp full of Humans, and beat them to the point of them not recovering. Afterwards, your uncle Melephas was found, and taken in as an... apprentice?" Her eyes drifted back down to the page and found the entry, whereupon she did speak with a, "Huh. So he did take him on as one."
"Mama?" Nox's eyes widened, revealing unto her a pair of misty-eyed orbs full of curiosity. However, they still held a few traces of tears which were beginning to form once again.
Therefore, the Goddess quickly hugged her child close to her bosom and kissed his head whilst continuing with, "Well, after the three came together, the rest of the Humans still alive were cut down and used as some sort of fodder for Brutus's spells. In that they became the Undead, and were forced to march, attack, and kill any Human they come across. This would continue onward until they reached the Humans' main continent, and swiftly went about killing everything and anything there.
"Though there were also quite a few million Beastfolk, they were also beaten down," Nox's eyes widened at this, then turned to face the pages full of the unknown, "Yep, but your Father was eventually beaten."
"Papa lost?" The hybrid turned to her quickly, as she believed she saw an odd fire behind his widened gaze. One that reminded her the first time she saw the Ageless enter into a rage that was simply called "The Madness".
"Yes," her right clawed hand rubbed the top of his head quickly, which the other giggled softly, "but he wasn't sent anywhere bad. Only that he was ejected from the world, along with Brutus and Melephas, due to their siding with the Undead."
"How?"
"How?" the child nodded emphatically, desiring to know how such a thing was possible. Especially if his father was a great and powerful being, "Well, the God who controlled the world pushed him and the other two out and into the Hub of Azzarath."
"Muu," was the only reply she received from the smaller, but she did spy his little paws clenching themselves into fists whilst they shook with a little anger. Of whom then received his neck scratched by the Goddess as she turned a few pages towards the events which occurred afterwards.

"So," grinned Melephas as he brushed himself off. His garb had changed from his normal attire of an endarkened robe to that of one of leathers made of skinned Humans. Of which he did not know of until a sennight ago when he spied a few stretched faces hidden amongst the leggings near his crotch. There he made a few sexual comments which will not be spoken of, and had them traded for other a pair of linen trousers.
"What's next? 'Cause after being shoved out like that, I doubt we could go back."
Brutus, whose body held the illusion of an Elf shrugged at his person. Whereas Karastak, whose guise was of a Human once more, pointed towards the exit of the Hub, "We shall return home, for a time, then return to our journey to find a new home for our ever growing people."
"Why?" asked the Human, whose hands were behind his head as the trio walked slowly towards the exit, "Do you have a wife or something that you have to check in and make sure-" He didn't speak further, as his body was sent flying towards the exit and over the heads of some very shocked individuals who scrambled to make sure they didn't get his by the body.
Brutus was the one who lashed out, by the way, and shook with his fist still in the air as though he had struck something solid. Of which was then drawn back, his eyes glowing a bright crimson as he shouted, "That was uncalled for you stupid, bloody-"
A hand fell upon his right shoulder, which stopped the Lich from speaking onwards. "Come," spoke aloud Karastak with a neutral voice, "Let us return home swiftly. I am eager to see what Rojaahn can make of what we had found."
"Yes, my Lord God."

My House of Horrors
The hearse with the weird odor slowed to a stop before the entrance. The sound of pebbles could be heard bouncing on the ceiling. There were footsteps coming from the corridor, and there seemed to be someone sawing next door. The door knob to the room rattled slightly, and the faucet in the bathroom kept dripping even though it had been screwed shut. There was a rubber ball that rolled on its own underneath the bed. Wet footsteps started to surface one after another on the floor. At 3 am, Chen Ge held a cleaver in his hand as he hid beside the room heater. The call he was trying to make was finally answered. “Landlord, is this what you meant by ‘the house can be a little crowded at night’‽”

Living the Great Sage Life with my Fairies and Lovers in a New World
*Currently on hiatus* *This is a slow burn harem story. The beginning is fairly light, with suggestive content picking up in later chapters. All characters participating in explicit content are 18 years of age, or older. Said explicit content has been toned down and euphemized to meet site regulations, check this story out on other platforms for the uncut version.* An American IT with a passion for magic and fantasy died on his 39th birthday as a virgin due to a stab to the gut while protecting a coworker of his. He might as well died a 'Wizard' that needed one more year to become a 'Sage.' Then, like in recent isekais, he was reincarnated in a new world as Soar Osmis with memories of his past life intact. This new magical world of Manara is where everyone has a chance to become an aspiring Magician, be blessed with powers by forming contracts with fairies as Chaperone and Companion, and special abilities called 'gifts,' and it just so happened that Soar was given the 'Wizard' gift at birth. Thus, began the mostly slice-of-life harem isekai story of a man reincarnated in a world centering around the very thing he loved: magic, as he trained and used the knowledge from his past life to carve a path to a new one on his own terms while growing as a 'Great Sage.' Some RPG game mechanics applied with a growing OP MC with humans and demi-humans as love interests. Profanity and little gory violence is included, characters in explicit sex scenes are at and above the legal age (MC won't have such scenes until his new body is around that age). Some scenes include yuri (F X F).
