《Of Life and Light》Chapter 15 [Ageless]

Sarah stopped reading as she felt the lips of another upon the top of her head. When she peered up towards this other, she smiled warmly as the visage of the Ageless's Kitsune form was above her. However, just as she was about to address his person, Nox scurried up her body and latched onto the other's chest. "Papa," he cried out, tails wiggling and wagging in all directions, "I missed you."
"I missed you too, Nox," rumbled the God King, which caused the child to giggle happily at the sensation. The other children, especially Maya and Mia, milled around at his feet, awaiting to greet his person.
Of whom were each picked up and greeted, but the twins went a stepped further and hugged his neck with a, "Uncle God," upon their lips. He then chuckled softly at their desires for a hug, and embraced their small forms for a time before setting them back down with his son.
"Sarah," his sigh caught the attention of the Goddess, who turned towards his person with a smile, but flinched when she noted his eyes were staring straight through her. This confused her for a moment, as she was unsure of why her body would choose to do so. For he would never harm or frighten herself, therefore, why was she so startled? Right?
As she contemplated this, she flinched once more, but at his touch. Confused even more, she blinked several times as she was lifted into the air and kissed by her husband. This action appeared to have banished such feelings, as her body was twirled around whilst she focused upon the soft textures of the other's lips pressing against her own.
Whilst this occurred, Nox was currently running around Anasi with a frightened look upon his features. For the twins had decided they wished to try kissing him, but found him to be quite uncooperative. "Come back, Nox," mewed Mia, whose furred cheeks blushed a delicate pink as she and her sister chased him around their friend.
"We just want to try it out," chimed in Maya, who leapt over the Arachne in an effort to grapple the young hybrid. Unfortunately, she bounced off his backside, and flopped to the ground. Within mere moments, she leapt to her front paws and feet, her tails splayed in the air, as she hopped around in place for the hybrid. Whose tail tips were seen disappearing into the castle, as he sought out his escape.

Yes. This led to a great chase between the three, but in the end, he was caught. However, by not many who would think. For Anasi had captured him in his webs, and placed the child upon his back, much to the dismay of the twins. They desired his person for themselves, especially his lips for their own pleasures, and followed him slowly back outside where the Ageless sat alone with the old and yellowed book propped open upon his legs.
"Hmm?" His eyes drifted up from the tired parchment within, and chuckled at the sight of his son tied upon his friend's back. Of whom mewed up at his father with a pitiful expression, then found himself released after being waved at slightly.
"Freedom," he crowed with great joy, then found himself between the twins who desired to kiss him. Yes. They performed thusly whilst he cried out a, "No!"
Soon after such an event was over and done with, the children crawled onto four small sofas. Of which became two, as the twins crawled right back into Nox's when they noticed he was quite alone.
"Are you quite finished?" chuckled the Ageless, as he set aside the book and leaned back comfortably.
"Yes, Papa," mewed Nox, who leaned his head back whilst Maya and Mia rubbed their muzzles against his neck.
"Very well, then let us continue with the story at hand."
*****
The light deposited us upon the surface of Onul'raan with as much fanfare as one would suspect during the late hours of the turn. For the people of this world desired for a saviour to come and deliver them from this great evil. However, their expectations of who it was that was summoned was a little misplaced. As once it was revealed what our forms were, did the murmuring begin, and more than one expressed their disgust for it.
"Humans," came the mutterance of those who were Elf, Orc, and Goliath, "Why are there Humans?" Many more soon came forth, and with it, a desire to slay the Humans before them. However, I and Brutus cared little about this, and instead spoke amongst ourselves whilst pointing in the general direction of the dark clouds which we had seen. For we wished to head in that direction, with or without the consent of the angered crowd before us.
The area in which we had been transported to, by the by, was of a raised platform in the centre of a thriving city full of such races as spoken of. This was raised to ten metres, and was crafted in a circular manner with nearly a dozen red robed individuals of varying sizes before us. These individuals were who desired to slay our persons, but were hesitant to do so. For once their summoned heroes were slain, they would not be allowed to summon another for nearly a cycle hence.

Far below, on the other hand, was a celebration, as they had been told that the summoning was a success. That there was five individuals who had come to destroy the Undead forces, and allow them to return to their peaceful ways. To this, the Humans milled about with uncertainty, whilst myself and Brutus sneered with disgust. We were not there to help them, but to help ourselves to their Undead.
"Thank you for answering our call, Heroes," came an elderly voice which was full of tension. This was revealed to be an old male Elf of many centuries, as noted by the multitude of wrinkles upon his features. This, coupled with the stoop in his back, and the young Orc helping him move, was what denoted his age to be. At least, within my own eyes, at least.
Great revelry soon drifted upwards, catching the ears of those who dared call themselves my "family", which led to them peering over the lip of the platform. "Seems to be a party, is it for us?" Melephas was the one who voiced such an inquiry, but with more of a bored expression upon his features than anything else at that time.
To which the elder nodded several times, "It is, but I'm afraid you are not what we expected. You see, Humans are the... problem in this world. Although you are all Humans, with the exception of that one," his head tilted towards Brutus, who frowned greatly at the other, "we cannot have you walking amongst us."
"You mean to say we shall all die if they found out about us?" grumbled Dashall as robes of red were passed out amongst the group.
"In part, yes," the elder tilted his head towards my person, as I had knocked such an offending object away, "They are the Undead, after all, and I would hate to find out one of my own skewered our world's champions with the belief they were so."
Turning towards my person with a look of pity, he snapped his fingers with a sound which reminded my person of a whip cracking nearby. To which those others in red robes began to chant, positioning themselves around us as spell circles containing a binding spell entrapped our persons. "Ah, but fear not, for I shall make you all appear different, less Human." Now the Elf grinned a malevolent grin, as the spells activated, releasing many arcane chains which leapt from the ground and towards our bodies.
Of which easily snaked around the Humans, causing them to grunt and groan as they were wrapped in such bindings, bearing them to the platform. Brutus, however, allowed them to wrap around his body. Once they did so, they strained to drag him towards the ground, and broke as soon as he stretched his illusory body.
I, on the other hand, refused to let such things touch my own illusory body. For such a thing was a violation, and required swift and precise punishment for those who dared to perform such actions. This warranted their deaths, one that I took great pleasure in exacting.
">," I intoned, howling in the air as a great bolt of chaotic energy, the colour of fresh blood, erupted from my right palm. One that I had made a motion as though I was pushing a great force away from my person.
This leapt away, striking the elder completely through his body, lancing out towards the open air. The others stood with horror as I rounded upon them, Brutus shedding his illusory skin as he drew upon his own unearthly energies. Of which were the dedicated towards the summoning of his own ghostly servants.
They numbered as a dozen, these ghostly Undead, and were of transparent Skeletons that glowed a pale and diseased green. No sound escaped their open maws, as they raised up their rusted swords and shields, slicing, slashing, and stabbing all, but two of the red robed mages. Yes. The Humans who called themselves a part of my family were released, and yes, they were left unharmed.
Whereas the remaining two started shouting something in a language I had not heard before. To which I turned towards Brutus, ordering him to capture one of them alive so that we may better understand their words.
