Their mental conversation was interrupted by his sister.

“So… I think we’ve found the long-term effects of the Queen’s powers on people in close-proximity…” Jane stated.

Their training in the forest had pushed them all to level five, but they hadn’t been able to increase any more. Hud had explained to John that a user’s level could not be increased pass five, without actual combat experience.

They had been waiting in the throne room, for the hour-long timer to finish - the plan had been to teleport to the City, scout around and search for signs of the Queen, before returning to Delruse within the day. Minutes before the teleport occurred, however, a gaggle of ladies rushed towards them, hurling crumpets.

With a wave of her hand, Jane lifted their attackers into the air, and gently sent them outside, locking the door behind them.

“They used to be some of the terrifyingly cunning minds in the Delruse queendom… now they’re naught more than lunatics.” With a sigh, she spoke up. “At least we can avenge them. How long left?”

John assumed she continued the conversation with her Hud-equivalent.

Hud? How long? It has to be close, it feel’s like we have been sitting her for the entire day!

John got the distinct sense of… cackling.

I’m sorry to say… the System counted that as combat… you’ll have to start the hour over again.

What?! They threw crumpets at us! Crumpets, Hud! How the hell is that fighting?

I don’t make the rules, John. I can’t say that this one isn’t funny as hell though! Crumpets count as an improved weapon! Ha!

Both John and Jane let out an irritated sigh.
