“It should be Jane.” Angus decided.
Patrick nodded. “She is the General, after all.”
“That doesn’t mean that I shoul-”
“You aren’t just our commander, Jane. We all owe you our lives several times over and, if you could do that without John’s… abilities…, imagine what you could do with them?” Angus replied.
Patrick nodded. “She is our saviour, after all.”
“But-” She started.
John interrupted. “Don’t I get a say in this?”
“Even if any of that wasn’t true, you’re the smartest of all of us – if anyone can figure all this ridiculous stuff out, it would be you!”
Patrick nodded. “She is a genius, after all.”
“Could you all please stop ignoring me?”
You guys… Jane smiled. “Alright, but I’ll be giving you my first levels, too.”
John sighed, looking resigned. “Hud? How do we do this?”
The knight’s eyes glazed over, his face blank.
“Do you think he’d notice if I punched him?” Angus questioned innocently.
Jane turned to him. “Of course, he’d notice! Don’t be such a child!” Would he notice?
Looking down, Angus kicked at the ground. “I poked him last time, pretty hard, and he didn’t feel it then!” He mumbled to himself.
I’m curious now… damnit, Angus!
John blinked, coming back to reality. “Set Jane Stone permissions, User.”
Checking level (John Stone)… complete
Deducting 1 level (John Stone)… complete.
Integrating with User… complete
Initiating System… complete
Uhuh… that’s just weird…
And that is rude, Jane Stone.
What? Who are you? Wait, are you like Hud?
Sigh. Yes, I am ‘like’ Hud.
You didn’t sigh, you just said it…
Would you like to choose your growth option now?
Um, sure? But aren’t you just changing the subj-

Jane took a moment to read over the text that had appeared in front of her.
John chose Powered, didn’t he?
He did, yes, but I would not recommend that option. It is quite unreliable! Skilled is a much be-

True Psion (Mutation)
What’s True Psion mean? And mutation? Is that good?
Jane… that’s a fantastic ability! But it’s a mutation…
What?
Sorry, dear…
Jane collapsed to the ground, screaming as she clutched her head.
Mutations hurt, dear.

Summon Imp!
Travel with a newly born demon as he grows and learns in his own world as well as in other worlds as he gets summoned again and again. Usually to die or kill for others in strange and exciting places, but it's never certain what the next one will bring. It has its perks. With each new world comes a new story with new experiences and new lessons. There is always more to see, more to learn and more to know. Maybe, someday, it will all make sense. For now he will just work hard to become stronger, to be useful and, hopefully, survive that way. A coming-of-age story, but different. Things start to slow down to a crawl. Colors blur into one another until my vision is completely white. All I can think is "Shit, not this again!" I hate being summoned. _________________________________ updates once a week until I get more time The idea for this story began in two places. One was the ridiculously rapid pace of gaining power in many novels. Both in games and in novels, I enjoy the struggle of the beginning character, why always the rush? The other was the way many monster or non-human MCs always seem to hurry to become human (again). It always felt like a cheap way to grant the character extra powers without the difficulty of writing a non-standard thought process. Thus I wanted to write the slow(ish) progression of a monster character gaining strength and intelligence, while remaining distinctly non-human. There are no stats, xp or systems, no reincarnated soul or completely formed being to start with - unless I want to make fun of those. While the MC 'evolves', the process takes months if not years to proceed step by little step. Sit down with me and imagine, what would it be like if...

Heart of the Dungeon
A lazy, wingless, blabbermouth of an imp, smearing goat’s blood all over the crystal – that is the unpleasant view this new Heart wakes up to. “I’m your Prime!” the imp says. The Heart reluctantly agrees. In an unknown world, filled with dangers, it needs every help it can get – even if said help is not…optimal. The Heart tries its best to succeed, even after being tricked by shrewd traders and having less than useful minions. Rival races settle in the Dungeon, causing even more headaches. The heroes, as they call themselves, sets their aim on the ‘new and defenseless’ Dungeon. The heroes are always lurking in the shadows – well actually, they are standing in the open, under the sun, hiding nothing – but either way, their evil intentions, no matter how they claim to justify them, only cause needless death. “Am I really that precious? Must you hunt me so fiercely? Why are you doing this to me?” The Heart does not understand their motives. Perhaps its lack of understanding has something to do with the fact the Heart has no physical limits nor material needs. Why take it from someone, when you can simply will it forth? Just pay for it with mana rent! To make things worse, the real dangers are not from above, nor from below, but from within…
