《I am the Deathly Hallow.》Chapter 17. The recipe for success.

Nyx and Fidell cuddled in a corner as Neville and I read through Herbology books in the library. The cat was curled up with her tail and paws over her eyes. Fidell was roosting on her like she is his nest. They found our reading terribly boring. Nyx gently snored but it was still audible in the quiet room.
Unfortunately, most magical effects that don't result in death, cures, or healing were unknown to me. So then for most of Neville's curriculum, I'd have to learn myself in order to teach. Neville was even more proficient at the subject than I'd hoped but it would still take time. So we would have to spend much of our time going forward studying herbs and potions beyond what Snape teaches.
It would be faster if I could give him a motivation so great that it could become a passion." Hey Neville, did you say your father gave you your toad?"
" No, my parents are dead. My great uncle gave me Trevor," Neville replied woefully looking downcast. Asking something I know to be incorrect is not lying. What I knew was hearsay anyway and a good method of finding the truth is asking the same question several times. As long as it's the truth they know then the answer will still be the same.
Not even a flicker of uncertainty in his expression when he thought of his parents. So Neville doesn't know that they live... As death, I'm well aware of their fate. Even I think it is beyond cruel and one of my twin's nastier inventions. Mental illness, cancer, and leprosy are all examples of her cruelty. I know that they live because they didn't die. I know of their mental illness for another reason.
Often a broken mind enters my realm and I cannot take them to the afterlife like that. So I've spent millennia mending the mentally unwell. Time is the most effective thing all around but that we don't have right now. The wizarding community thinks that their condition is incurable but that is not so. Nothing is impossible unless one lacks the knowledge to do so. It is also far harder to fix something than it is to break it in the first place.

With my help, Neville may someday reunite with his parents. in the meantime, I intended to use it as a motivation but Neville is unaware of their true fate. With Alchemy, we could mend the damage done to his parent's brains. The spiritual damage I would handle, and the mental part would be a group effort. I'll have to find another way to motivate him but for now, I will have to settle for hard work on my part.
I genuinely do want to help Neville on this matter. I hate illness and suffering. Why live if you cannot truly live? There is no pain after death and no one belongs stuck in the middle. I am allowed to make such minor changes and plus it will piss off my sister. what did Fate tell me again? "Be aware that fate warps at the presence of a Primordial incarnation when we walk the world. Earth's fate will always try to twist things back on course." The reason I'm here at all is that everything got off course so much that fate was essentially broken without the chosen one. This is why I have to raise the others up to become heroes. So as long as I make sure the dark lord falls then everything should go back to normal. All I need to do is balance those that live and die. I will just claim the life of a death eater for every other life I save and thus balance is maintained.
" Sorry to hear about your parents Neville," I stated.
"That's ok Ben, It happened right after I was born. All I've ever known is my other relatives," Neville replied.
"On that note how is that book your reading?" I asked to change the subject.

"It's great! Have you ever heard of a plant called Gilly Weed?" Neville asked.
"No, what does it do?"
"It makes you grow gills and webbing between your fingers and toes. So you can swim underwater," Neville declared proudly.
"That's pretty useful if we ever need to go into a lake," I said uncertain such a thing would ever be of use.
I noticed Neville's wand on the library table," Did you inherit that wand?"
"Yes, it was my fathers," Neville answered.
No wonder Neville struggles with charms. He is using a wand that inherited instead of won or chosen. A chosen wand is best while an inherited one is the worst. Worse yet is that you cannot truly inherit a wand while the original owner still lives.
Neville will need a new wand and normally I would just craft one for him myself but there's a problem. Like Ron, Neville is a wizard with life and light spectrum magic. Any wand I may craft for him would be no different from the elder wand: Useable by anyone and bound to be stolen. I don't have the money to buy one from Olivander or a way to convince Neville's relatives he needs a new one. The only way I could make him a wand is with the help of another.
Whoever would assist me needed to be intelligent, gifted in magic, and aware of my abilities... Bloody hell, it's Hermione I need help from. I thought to myself in realization.
The matters between her and myself bother me. Someday the truth will surface with the movements of the sands of time as it always does. They are fated to find out eventually as my Primordial friend has also warned me. Call the relationship Fate and I have a working friendship as we've always worked closely together. I must tell my new companions the truth of who I am before they find out by other means. For if they do they may never trust me again.
I need them to believe in me and follow my instructions. If they were left to their own devices they would all take different paths and most would not reach a fraction of their potential. It will be Hermione I need to tell first, the others won't realize the significance of who I am at this age. For now, I must wait and hope for a good opportunity to reveal my true self to her. In the meantime, I have to hide the clues and work with her on a wand.
