《The Arcanist Seer》Chapter 9: Subdued Yeti

‘Wait! the yeti, bollocks.’
Olen's face suddenly turned grim as he looked at him with a murderous eye: “Feimshall, you bastard, you either explain the Yeti or else I’ll be the one smashing you this time,”
Alfrick mocked and gave a contemptuous look at Feimshall’s horrified face.
Feimshall hearing his liege furious remark rolled his eyes in nervousness and murmured in defeat.
“Well, crap,”
“Liege, I… it’s not entirely my wish, right after I saw the Yeti throw the rock towards me and look straight into my eyes. I could see the respect of a warrior submitting its allegiance.” Feimshall sheepishly replied.
“What did you say? A yeti swearing its subservience to you?” Olen said and while looking at the goblin right beside him, he thought: ‘does this bastard have an affinity to attract its own same kind of lifeforms to obey him?’
Alfrick moved his eye between Feimshall and the goblin, staring at them for a while, and suddenly laughed: “AHAHAHA. What a rare sight to finally see two idiots standing together at the same time. You both looked like a couple match by heaven,”
Seeing Alfrick laugh, Feimshall's expression suddenly turned livid, as he turned his direction toward the Goblin with a murderous look on his face.
However, the Goblin just shrugged it off and instead looked at Feimshall with a yearning gleam in its eyes.
Feimshall stared blankly at the goblin in front of him with a dazed look in his eyes. He sighed and limp his shoulders in defeat and helplessly shook his head.
Feimshall found out that ever since he defeated the Yeti, some part of him awakened, and from there since on, the goblin would annoy him now and then whenever he's close to it.
“Yes liege, after grabbing the shard crystal the yeti gave to me, a screen-like panel suddenly emerged from my thoughts after placing my hands in it,” Feimshall sighly said.
‘not a stone, but a crystal?’
“A shard crystal… Let’s see, if I'm not wrong, you should have gained something from the crystal. Is it an affinity, perhaps?” Olen curiously said.
Feimshall looked surprised for a while and nodded. "Your guess is on point, my Liege. It’s called [Myriad Affinity] an ability which lets me connect and tune to nature in harmony."
“It seems there won’t be a problem for you to take on the yeti once we get there.” Olen nodded.
Feimshall hesitated but decisively nodded since it was his mistake in the first place and his responsibility to begin with. “You have my word, my liege”
While walking to the location where the Yeti was last found, Olen looked back at the ground and grabbed a strange stone with a gleaming translucent object inserted in it. Realizing what it could use the stone for. He found out that the stone outlined with golden energy can increase their strength.
And after grabbing the stone, he walked toward his two companions, making his way toward them, and can’t help but wonder: ‘I hope that bastard gets bash to the ground’

Upon reaching the area, Olen and the group looked over ahead for quite a while and felt relieved as they saw the yeti staying still on the ground still ravishingly devouring the stone laid in front of it.

Feimshall widened his eyes as he saw the Yeti standing two meters tall, huger than before than the previous fight he just fought just a while ago.
Nervous, Feimshall took a single step back from where he stood and gave a look at his liege one last time, hoping that both of his companions would lend a hand to subdue the Yeti.
However, Olen reminded him with a severe tone in his voice: “You better not back down now, it's either us or that Yeti,”
Though it sounds like a joke, Feimshall knew if things got worse, the other two would lend his hand. But still hearing them jeering at him together, still leaves a bitter taste in his mouth.
Feimshall heaved a deep breath and swept the tumbling turmoil from his chest. He looked ahead at the spot where the Yeti stood, and for a second, his aura grew assured as his eyes grew determined and took a step forward.
Olen smiled and felt confidence brimming inside him. “I hardly doubt he fails"
Olen shook his thoughts and spoke to Alfrick right beside him: “If he succeeds, then we have a card under our sleeves. If played right, it will do right in our favor,”
“And you’ll never know what’s behind that Rift,'' Olen continued. "Having the Yeti will only bolster our chances of exploring the unknown''
After arriving at a relatively safe distance, Feimshall racked his shoulders, glaring at the Yeti in front of him with a scornful eye. Letting out a shout that shook the surrounding air to its ground.
“YOU BIG HAIRY OF A BEAST, COME AND GREET YOUR MAKER”
But before Feimshall could react, a gust of wind suddenly blew right all over his face, and next thing he knew, a towering figure suddenly stood right before him, its eyes growing menacingly, staring at the man in front of it.
Feimshall: “What the fuq” as he let out a yelp out of fear in a formal English sentence for the first time in his life.
Olen “...”
Alfrick “...”
*Gulps*
“I… hey there little fella, remember me? You couldn’t possibly forget the day where you had taken me as your master didn’t you?” Feimshall staggeringly responded as his sweat dripped over his shoulder thinking of an escape... Or else his life could be taken away from him at any moment.
Sigh…
“Well, looks like we have no choice but to interfere” This is not something with a brute strength could shoulder, that speed, is as twice or three times as faster than Alfrick.
Aflrick nodded, without hesitation, and both of them sprinted to his help, however.
The Yeti suddenly lay down to its knees, lowering his nose and sniffed all over Feimshall shoulder. Its breath drawing closer and closer, causing some of its mucus to scatter all around his face.
“Mother! Help!”
“Don’t move, you dumbass! Try to stay still, it's recalling your scent, let the Yeti establish its familiarity towards you,” Olen shouted.
As time passed by, The Yeti suddenly shivered as it brought its shoulder around Feimshall, enough to grab him around his waist and while lifting him 1 meter apart from the ground.

“I can’t breathe!”
But suddenly, the Yeti whimpered and snuggled its head around his face, grabbing tight to his waist. Showing its intimacy.
For short, it was like an enormous bear hugging a teddy bear.
Olen upon seeing the entire fiasco, contained his urge to puke. As he rushed to the Rift Shard and looked at the stats of the monster, distracting him from the ridiculous scene.
[Monstrous Yeti]
Species: Abominable Yeti (Rare)
Mana: 2/5
Tier: 2 (1/100)
Abilities: Rage, Double Smash
Contract: Feimshall
Olen upon looking at the transparent screen, grew ecstatic at the increased tier from its strength. Its prowess was already obvious from the increased momentum as soon as the Yeti devoured the stone earlier. It furthermore bolstered his confidence and yearning at the stones scattered around outside of the vicinity of the zone.
Olen being curious, positioned his thoughts to its ability called Rage, which another screen popped out.
Rage: As the species grows angrier, the increase in strength will depend on the intensity of its emotion.
Double Smash: A fixated action in which the species learns to maneuver its strength performing another quick smash.
Feeling satisfied so, Olen then checked the status of Feimshall if any changes were being made during the contract.
[Feimshall]
Species: Human
Race: Asgard
Talent: Extraordinary Perception, Increased Strength.
Abilities: Defensive Measures

[Contract]
Monstrous Yeti
Arcane: It’s a unique manifestation of a substance of mana that is only obtained through bloodlines or reaching a maximum proficiency in mana manipulation.
‘Peculiar, hmm, if I remember correctly, Alfrick also has a Magicka listed under his proficiency’
Magicka: It’s a unique manifestation of spiritual energy that is contained within mana. It is only obtained through rigorous shamanistic practice or through inheritance.
After looking for a second, Olen submerged his thoughts, but as soon as he closed it. He noticed a strange icon of a crystal flickering from time to time, right below the corner of the screen.
[Escalade]
[Due to the succession of the occurrence of an anomaly, a reward has been given]
Suddenly a swirl of energy instantly emerged around the [Rift Shard] as the energy grew dense to a mass of energy condensing before his eyes. The energy soon took its shape as it formed into a material floating made of an artificial stone. Steadily floating in front of his chest waiting for it to be grasped.
Olen reaches out his hand to the crystal and within an instance, the information about the crystal instantly emerged from his eyes.
[Dwelling of the Longcloaks]
[A structure infused with the Longcloaks souls of the past]
A string of energy suddenly burst forth from the crystal as the energy instantly dashed through his temple where his third eye is located.
Olen then again found himself in a fog as he traveled through the countless memories of the past appearing from his consciousness. Which he saw countless silhouettes of individuals fighting for their lives on a battlefield. Blood scattered everywhere as the sound of the metal of their sword clashed in the air. Their eyes turned bloodshot in an unwavering will, unyielding, and unbending, it was as if they carved their existence to resist the tyranny of their enemies.
Empires burned as the rubbles of the havoc trod underneath their feet, blood splattered on the ground as their banner stood tall in fear to those who blocked in their path to revolution.
The images foretold of the rebellion, revolution, savagery, honor, freedom, as if it almost runs within their veins.
As the images were about to end, a voice spoke within his consciousness. “Use it, it will bide on your journey”
Olen's third eye returned to its own brilliance while he saw the crystal slowly floating in his palm. Noticing the new energy slowly enveloping in his third eye.
[Due to the unique properties of the [Void Sight] its ability to have merged with the [Shard Eye]
[What the rift see, sees in you]
Noticing the recent changes in his vision, Olen saw the crystal, extremely similar to the [Town Hall] floating within the fireplace of its building, looking exactly the same as the crystal floating from his palm.
Curious, Olen then decided to peered his eyes through the crystal confirming his suspicion using his ability [Shard Eye]. He saw his vision passing through the material of the building as his sight expanded and focused on the crystal floating right in the middle of the fireplace.
[Town Hall of Heroes]
[A structure infused with the souls of the heroes of the past]
[The Asgardian Feimshall] [The Rebellious Leader of The Longcloaks]
‘Thought so… it seems the function of this crystal serves as a structure. If I'm not wrong, this feels like I'm playing a RTS genre game’
The ability of his eyes seems to target what the Rift sees. He looks around, trying to check if he had missed some abilities of [Shard Eye].
Olen then noticed the strange deformed energies lingering all over the rubbles of rocks scattered throughout the layer of the zone. Thanks to his ability [Void sight] assimilated to the [Shard Eye]. He could see the Void energies contained within the stones.
These changes were significant enough for him to identify the energies contained within the stones so he could lessen the trouble of looking for the right stones among the endless pile of rubbles spread everywhere.
Nothing to look for. Olen uses his time and checks his character screen due of the recent changes in abilities he gained from the [Escalade].
