《Dragon Ball, A True Coherent Fan-Fic》Chapter 9: Yamo! Part 3

‘Electricity, really?’ I thought while I spinning my Quarterstaff for half a second and then pointing one end of towards the Ox King’s attack. The attack was absorbed by my Quarterstaff, making it go into overcharge mode. It was close to exploding on my face. I spun the Quarterstaff again, pointing the other end towards the Ox King and returning his attack in full, in a more concentrated beam, which made it stronger.
“Ha, ha, ha.” He laughed, taking the attack head on and absorbing it. I used the small amount of time I had to check his Power Level.
Name: ???, The Ox King
Body State: Injured
Power Level: 7/13 ti
Ki: 20,000
‘Well, looks like Ki is now showing up. Must be because I can feel it now. It has been a while since I’ve seen a complete character sheet beside mine. I usually just ask for the Power Level of my opponent after I turned off the auto pop up, it can become annoying after a while.’ I thought.
‘Moreover…. 13 ti! How the hell did the old man fought against six of these freaks! I can assume by this numbers that the two other Kings who died had a Power Level around 12 ti! Well, the techniques the old man gave me aren’t something so easy to fight against if one doesn’t know how to use them. Yeah, I think my battle sense is a little messed up after fighting with that Monkey for so long. Mmm...is it even called battle sense? Bah, doesn’t matter for…’ My train of thought was interrupted by the Ox King. Or, better said, by his hammer. I crashed against a rock pillar, pierced through and ended on the ground. I stood up.
“Hey, don’t you know that it is a bad show of manners to interrupt someone when they're thinking!” I yelled, wincing because of the pain.
The Ox king answered in a not so impressive way, attacking me. He showed up out of nowhere and swung his hammer at me. I blocked it with my Quarterstaff and moved two steps back. He followed and kept attacking me while I defended.
“You’re not much of a talker, aren’t you,” I smile. “Too bad, because I am!” I used one of his hammer’s swings to move to his right and stroke him on the back of his head with my Quarterstaff.

“You! Insufferable Monkey!” He screamed.
I have started to notice that his moves are kind of stiff. Must be his injuries. So they are internal. I was starting to think that the System Interface was glitching. I decided to used his lack of maneuverability.
I decided my Quater staff in two and closed in on him. I attacked him every time I dodged his attacks. He surprised me with some kicks, knee attacks and elbow drops.
“Enough.” He spelled his Ki outwards, driving me away. ‘Well, looks like Ki is now showing up. Must be because I can feel it now. I decided my Quater staff in two and closed in on him. I attacked him every time I dodged his attacks. He surprised me with some kicks, knee attacks and elbow drops.
“Enough.” He spelled his Ki outwards, driving me away.
The Enemy’s Power Level has decreased by 900.
Enemies Body State has worsened.
‘Oh, his injuries are getting worst. Good news for me.’ I thought.
“I’ll end this right now!” His Ki increased! His body started to be envolve by lightning
Enemy’s battle power increasing.
Enemy's Body State is worsening.
‘He is about to through a hail mary. As if I would stay still and let him do that.’ I flew towards him with each piece of my Quarterstaff shining. Just when I was about to attack him, He disappeared, making me hit only air. Suddenly, I felt pain from my right and a strong electrical current ravaged my body while I was sent flying.
I felt another hit, the same electrical current ravaged me again while I was sent upwards. My body was facing towards the skies when the Ox King just showed up as if he teleported above me. I saw as everything entered some kind of slow-motion state, with the Ox king lifting his hammer upwards, waiting for me to be a little bit closer to him. His eyes were completely white with lightning coming out of him. His horns were shining in an electrical white electric. And his hammer was shining and spilling lightning the same way as his first attack.
I tried to move, but I was doing it too slowly. I was going to be struck before I could even change my position enough to dodge his attack. So I decided to take it. I willed my clothes and Quarterstaff pieces to cover my body. They converted back into clouds and covered me. Then, everything went back to normal time.
“Thunder Smash! Second Grade!” The Ox King yelled and stroke me down.
I rocketed back down, lightning breaking havoc throughout my body. Parts of the clouds that were protecting me disappeared. They were destroyed. The little that was left converted back into my pants and shoes. Now that the attack struck and was wrecking everything inside me, there was nothing more it could do.
Once I reached the ground, a bing energy explosion broke out. It destroyed everything in a radion of thirty or forty yards around me. Before the explosion could even finish, the Ox King’s shining hammer stroke my stomach, causing another energy explosion and sending me to a world of pain.
Then, just when the second explosion ended, the Ox King showed up in front of me.
‘How fast is this fucker moving at that it looks as if he is teleporting!’ I screamed, in my mind.
“Thunder,” The Ox King hands started to shine while he closed them into a fist,
‘Why do I have the feeling that this is going to hurt?’ I asked myself.
“Fist Barrage!” He started to hit at speed a couldn’t even follow. He was pummelling me to the ground. A bunch of thunder sounds came could be heard every twenty hits he landed on. That it could be heard every two seconds should indicate how much I am suffering at the moment. Every hit caused a mini lightning explosion that ran throughout my body. This continued for about twenty seconds, which seemed longer to me. Yeah, I was in hell.
I was losing my conscience for half a second at first. Then it became longer. I could already feel myself. getting closer and closer towards death’s embrace.
Then suddenly, it stopped. My consciousness came back and the only thing I could see was a figure’s back standing up. It was becoming clearer and clearer until I recognized who it was. Yamo.
“I am the only one who can pummel him to the ground!” Yamo yelled.
I followed Yamo’s gazed or where he was facing. I was the Ox King getting out from a pile of rocks that was once a rock tower.
“A Yan clan member.” The Ox king said, angry. “What is it that you want, young girl.” The Ox King asked.
‘Girl?’ My mind went blank. ‘Yamo is a girl!!’

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
