The following day, Alex went to meet the patriarch. Today is his first official day as an elder because the patriarch was going to announce his election as an elder. Both Mary, and he were so happy. Many people were going to be here today to witness this appointment ceremony. It was said to be held on the announcement grounds which was not too far away from the sacred mountain of the patriarch.

Arriving at the podium, Alex was ecstatic. On the podium, there were 4 grand elders and the patriarch. They were already seated in their seats as they patiently waited for Alex's arrival. Below the podium, there were oceans of people. Thousands upon thousands of people of all ages and sizes came to watch this ceremony. Amongst them, Mary was carrying Jedidiah in her hands as she also came to watch Alex's appointment ceremony.

Although some of the elders disagreed, they knew there was nothing they could do. As for the grand elders, they all agreed to Alex's ceremony. These four figures have been in this sect from the time memorial. They know almost everything concerning this sect. They were young men back then, when Kai Kings and their patriarch, Fiona, made this sect. In fact, the four of them were young captains directly under grandpa Kai's reign.

Back then, Fiona and grandpa Kai were heavily in love. They both shared wins and woes. They were so close, that they were two sides of the same coin. Back then, grandpa Kai and patriarch Fiona took turns reigning. This was a joint agreement. Every year, Kai kings would reign for six months, while patriarch Fiona would act as his assistant. After his term ended, Fiona would take over and Kai would be her assistant.

These two reigned together to providence. Together, they made a name for the Great Silverback Sect in Paan. At one point, this sect was one of the most respected in Paan. No major decision was made without informing or inviting the Great Silverback Sect because failure to do so would lead to disastrous consequences as it would be seen as disrespect.

One day, Kai fell in love with a woman, Mabel. She was a normal middle-class civilian. She worked for her mother as a dinner. One day, Kai went to eat dinner, and Mabel was the one who served him that day. She wore a blue gown that covered her body. Although she was beautiful, Kai was not interested in her beauty. He was interested in her personality.

On weekends, they would often sneak out together and have fun. They would go out to watch shooting stars, catch bandits together, and even travel together to beaches and more.

On the other hand, Fiona got jealous. She loved Kai so much that she wasn't willing to let him go. Kai also loved her too. However, over time, his heart belonged to Mabel. This made her furious. As a leader, she couldn't publicly attack Mabel, so she waited. She waited patiently until this day.

Years later, the two of them settled down. Kai and Mabel had two sons. David, their first-born son, and Alex, their second-born son. They were actually both born in the Great Silverback Gorilla Sect. Their home was always filled with joy and laughter. Until one day, Mabel got ill. Over time, her illness became worse. In fear, Kai left to go search for ingredients needed to heal her. Unfortunately for him, he was 4 days too late, and she ended up dying.

Grieved, and angry. Kai decided to leave the Great Silverback Sect unannounced. He didn't know where he was going, but he was determined. Sect after sect, he begged to serve them in exchange for a place to live. The reason for his departure was unknown, and so, Fiona became concerned. Maybe he thought she killed his wife, Mabel.

Worried, Fiona left the Great Silverback Sect with the four grand elders in charge. She went to look for Kai. However, no matter how much she tried, it was to no avail. She always failed. This was the first time she felt so helpless. No matter how tough she was, she had one weakness, Kai. Her love for him is so great that she never wanted anything bad to happen to him.

Don't get it wrong, although she wanted to be with Kai, she never had evil intentions for Mabel. Rather, she patiently waited for him. It wasn't jealousy that made her wait, but her love for him. She knew Kai very well since they were teenagers. She knew how furious he would be if she plotted against Mabel because trust was one thing Kai treasured. Once broken, he would cut all ties with the individual. That being said, she tried to befriend Mabel rather than trying to kill her.

Seeing how futile her efforts were, Fiona had no other choice but to sadly return to the Great Silverback sect. Since then, she has waited patiently for the love of her life. One can imagine how much hurt she has suffered while waiting. Sad, confused, and helpless. Just waiting for her beloved.

Anyway, Alex was obviously unaware of any of these things because it had nothing to do with him. However, today was his day. He was about to reclaim his family's rightful position in the Great Silverback Sect.

Standing on the podium, He was accompanied by the patriarch and the grand elders. Everyone standing below was so expectant and happy for him.

Looking at the oceans of people, Fiona felt pleased. She walked forward and announced the beginning of the ceremony.

"Welcome everyone. Thank you all for coming to this ceremony. Today, I will be appointing a new elder. Many of you may not know him, however, some of you may remember him. This man is Alex Kings, the son of Kai Kings!" Fiona announced.

Once her words went out, the crowd became rowdy. They all knew their history, and they were at loss. They knew Kai Kings was the first general and assistant patriarch of the Great Silverback Sect. He was one person almost all the younger generations desired to be like. Even the current generals today, all wished to be like Kai kings when they were younger. However, they never met him in person. They only saw pictures, heard tales of him, and the wars he led victoriously.

Surprised, all the captains, majors, and generals kneeled on one knee as they all paid their respects to Alex. Some of them even swore their loyalty to him!

"I, Pedro, swear my loyalty and allegiance to Alex Kings!" Pedro, the head general announced out loud.

This caused an uneven greater uproar. Even Fiona herself never expected Alex to be accepted so easily into her sect.

Pedro was the son of one of the 4 grand elders. Like his father, he worked hard to earn his position. When he was younger, his father always told him tales about Kai kings. These tales always inspired Pedro to become better. His father, too, also inspired him. Being the son of a grand elder, there was always more expected from him compared to others.

However, now it was all different. The son of both him and his father's Idol was standing before them. Without a doubt, they all believed Alex could lead them to better days ahead of them. Even all the great elders believed so too!

That's not all! All the others, including the civilians who honored Kai Kings, bowed to Alex! Ah! How crazy is this! What type of person is this man, Kai Kings! What type of man was he? Even Alex was having trouble understanding the level of depth his last name, Kings carried here in this sect.

However, that wasn't the most important thing! Alex was so humbled, that he too bowed flat to the people! Ah! This level of humility made females fall for him! Everyone respected him more as they saw this scene! Barely any general or official has bowed to the people. They all had their own pride. However, Alex, who was now of great reputation and power bowed to the civilians in front of everyone! What kind of person is this? How humble can one be?

Seeing this Fiona was at a loss for words. She never expected any of this to be honest.

As Alex stood up. Alex looked at the congregation ahead and said aloud, "Thank you all. Thank you, my patriarch, grand elders, and my fellow generals and elders. I am very humbled to serve you all. Although I am new here, I swear to serve the Great Silverback Gorilla sect. However, today is not just my day, but everyone's. I am not perfect, so I will need all the help I can get. Feel free to approach me if needed, I am humble and meek."

Touched, Fiona and everyone nodded her head subconsciously as they heard Alex's words.

"You are welcome. However, this is not only why we are here. Mary, please come forward with Jedidiah." Fiona called out as she looked at the congregation.

Alex never expected this. Although he told her about Mary and Jedidiah, he thought she would take time to meet them in private. However, he had to trust her and swallow his doubts.

Shortly after, Mary came up the podium with Jedidiah in her arms. She was wearing a yellow gown with floral coverings on her head. While Jedidiah was wearing white baby clothing. He wore a white shirt with white pants and shoes.

On the stage, they stood beside Alex. Customary to their culture, Mary bowed to Fiona and to the grand elders to pay her respect to them. While she stood, next to Alex, she felt nervous. However, she was also comforted because she trusted Alex.

"Everyone, I would like to formally present Mary, Alex's wife, and Jedidiah Kings, his nephew. Jedidiah is the grandson of Kai Kings, and the son of Alex's older brother, David Kings!" Fiona announced.

After she said this, everyone was dumbfounded! They never expected this! Looking over at Mary. Fiona signaled Mary to let her carry Jedidiah. Mary was shocked because she wasn't Alex's wife, however, she looked over at Alex for permission before she handed over Jedidiah to Fiona. Once he agreed, she carefully handed Jedidiah over to Fiona.

In her arms he was peaceful. Surprisingly, Jedidiah was one baby who didn't cry often. He was just calm and cute as his beady black eyes looked at Fiona. He was smiling as he tried to grab Fiona's hair. Seeing this, Fiona was touched, she started liking Jedidiah.

On the ground, everyone saw this scene. They were at peace with themselves as they watched this intimate moment. It was almost like a mother-son relationship. A mother, caressing a son she never had. How beautiful.

Looking over at the congregation, Fiona also announced, "Jedidiah, unfortunately, lost his family tragically due to an unexpected attack. Our hearts go out to him and his family. Now they are here, they are at home. Free from any attack from the outside world."

Hearing this, the congregation was saddened. They felt as though they lost their loved ones. However, they were also comforted that Jedidiah was fortunate enough to survive.

On the podium, Pedro's father was touched. He swore within himself to make the best out of Jedidiah. After this, he knelt on both his legs to Jedidiah who was in Fiona's arms.

Looking at him, the other grand elders seemed to have come up with a collective agreement with the other three grand elders also knelt to Jedidiah. Seeing this the congregation all knelt to Jedidiah. Even the old people within the congregation paid their respects to Jedidiah as they too knelt. That's not all, Fiona herself even bowed slightly to Jedidiah!

Now, this was a major shocker. Everyone at this moment knew vaguely that Jedidiah was bound to be special. They knew he was probably bound to do great things in the future.

After that, everyone got up. The crowds started clapping for Alex as Fiona presented a gold medal which she wore on him. Shortly after, Alex, Mary, Jedidiah, Fiona, and the 4 grand elders all took a photo together. This way, they could preserve this day for future generations to come.
