Chapter 34 - Auroras of Trouble
I Stian Peregrine is currently taking a sit a bench in the lookout point. Right now I'm currently eating a skewer with meat of unknown origins. This time I have taken the best seat in the lookout due to me being early in endeavors. With a warm mug of dwarven ale and a lot of skewers in hand. I can honestly say that I am ready for this event.
Looking at the crowd who is slowly getting bigger. I then felt relieved in my heart that I have picked this high spot. With this spot I can take out my camera and take pictures without worries! So though I do not know who have put this old bench here away from the lower grounds of the lookout that you need to climb this high...but it matters not since I Stian, thank such person for giving me a spot.
Suddenly the cold blows of winds arrived at the lookout point. Due to me being a worrywart, I have already predicted such furious gust of winds so therefore I already attack black energy threads towards my skewers and my bottle of ale. But even with that one of the skewers I bought flew into the sky.....having tears in my eyes I then grit my teeth as I saw the skewer fall into the depths of the cliff...
As I look up in the sky, there the aurora's called the Ever Winds have started to form as the gust of winds clashes with some sort of force before it gets spread away, according to the book of this world, that forced that has stopped the Ever Winds is some sort of discharge that happen due to what it seems to be a natural element in Snow Crest that can be called as a Mana field.

This Mana field, seems to enveloping the town completely. For example If I were to compare it to my own world's terms then take the mana field as if it's the earth's magnetic shields and the Ever Winds, who seems to be a combination of cold and hot that came from the snow filed as the solar flares.
One the Ever Winds hit the mana field of this town, then that mana field would react strongly and then create this bluish red and green lights of aurora's. Although according to the book the cause of such mana field is due to the heavy tampering of the Dvergr's in the area and their endless inventions and experiments that the mana field was created.
Because according to the old information's that are centered in town. It seems that before Snow Crest became a town, the harsh winds were intimidating and would usually would hamper the village, and soon after years a group of...no a brigade size of Dvergr's moved into the village and made contributions and have taken the underground valleys as their homes. During that time the Black Snow Tribe was a bit skeptic first but was then slowly appease when not only they started doing strange useful things into the village, they also gave the town a rebuild using their machines until the current Snow Crest's appearance has been achieved and even gave them a safe trading route they can travel with instead of passing the Snow Spring Valleys.
Eventually the Dvergr's were completely accepted and the Black Snow Tribe was fine with them. After all who would backbite them after they have done such unimaginable things? And so because of that they leave be and let them do what they want. Also Because of that such passion and obsession on developing new things that somewhere along the line that they accidentally created and spread the mana fields into succession which is also made the town warm and carefree despite the weathers of the valleys.

At present Stian has already been on state of daze, not even bothering to eat his skewers or drinking his ale. Stian was immersed in taking pictures of the dancing lights of aurora's and have been attracted to it's splendor and is currently inside his own world.
Before long, an hour has passed. Yet still the lights of the aurora's didn't still vanished. Thus the people on the lookout point also didn't naturally leave. So before Stian can even took a bite of his skewer someone intruded him.
''Hey, something is really wrong here you know''
Stian look at the voice and replied ''Yep, something really is wrong here. A certain girl once said that she had no interest on seeing the bright splendors of the Ever winds but right now is currently speaking behind me... ''
''No, not that. I mean I really don't have any interest on seeing it again, but the ever winds are really taking long on calming down..'' Cyra stated
''What do you mean about that Ms. Stalker who seems to have a thing into appearing suddenly?''
''Please stop with the nicknames''
''If you tell me how you track me down then sure I will''
''I am Huntress, so It's easy to track someone like you! ''
''That's not really the answer that I want, but whatever. So what about the Ever winds?''
''You see the Ever Winds usually just last an hour long but this time it seems to still no signs of stopping.''
''I don't see what wrongs about that'' Stian replied
''Well, the Ever Winds are really not the problem. Don't you know that this place is surrounded by a mana field right?''
''I do what about it?''
''You see every time the Ever Winds collided with the mana field, the snow it created becomes a problem. Due to mana and snow clashing together that the collision of such forces would trigger an anomaly. That anomaly is well known here as the effect of the ever winds... the Snow Giants.''
''Snow Giant's?''
''Yes, the Snow Giants, constructs made of snow and along with the Nivis trolls are the minions of the one they call Snaer, the personification of snow.''
''So you mean...'''
''If this continues then, the black snow tribe and the garrison of this town are gonna have more trouble than what they used to...''
''What the fuck, wait shouldn't we escape from here now?'' Stian panicked.
''Whoa calm down for a bit...it may look serious but there is no way the black snow tribe and this town's garrison can't handle this situation, besides do you really think you can escape this town with ever winds blowing like that?''
''I see....'' Stian look down towards the ground.
''Don't worry though, as long as that Jarnstryke is here then we are probably safe from harm.''
''That is reassuring'' Stian thought of the giant metal humanoid as he took deep breaths and then took a sip of his ale to calm himself down.

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
