Chapter 29 - Inducing Guilt
After the long dark, the enemies or namely the Nivis trolls did attack the black snow camp but was unable to ensue damage due to the skills of the Hunter's of the Black Snow which was lead by the Elder of the Black Snow camp, Elder Thorin Blacksnow.
Though how the battle gone on is a complete mystery due to the event happening late at night that only a handful was able to saw the battles. During when the event was happening, a certain man named Stian was happily sleeping as he successfully mind his business and did not get involve due to acting like a traveler.
Stian only have heard the news the moment he return the log house key's and heard more details during the time he was eating breakfast in the pub. Some say that they have defeated all the Nivis trolls that tried to pillage the camp but the guardsmen and especially the Elder of the camp did not take the chance and warned the travelers to be careful along the way, mainly because that there is a chance that some of the Nivis trolls might have escape during the battle.
Because of the worrywart personality of Stian, He decided to keep his guard up and even bought a pair of bow and arrows that are coated with oil just in case he encounters one of the Nivis trolls in the way. The oil coated arrow which is the weapon used by the hunters in snow spring valley to deal with the Nivis trolls who have high regeneration abilities.
There is two ways to kill a Nivis Troll, first is to kill it directly by piercings it heart or brain directly, which usually the less popular option due to how thick the skins of the trolls are. Second is by firing them with oil coated arrows so that they can be burn inside when the arrow pierces them.

At the current time , Stian Peregrine is now on the road towards Spring Crest in order to see the Ever Winds. On his back is the newly bought arrows and bow which he specifically bought just in case of emergency. But right now in the far distance is looming with an indescribable aura of danger.
Was it because of the enemy? No, it's simply because right now Stian is in a process of thinking on what actions will he take from now. Because right this time there is a certain person on the corner of the road desperately struggling for her life.
Yes, ''her'' life, the person who is currently fighting a trio of Nivis trolls all by herself is the same woman who Stian bump yesterday who leave shouting ''Watch where your going damn it!" at Stian.
In a sick twist of fate, they meet again. But at this time the woman is currently busy fighting three Nivis trolls. So shouldn't Stian help? Go in there and save her from the Nivis trolls by using the power of his guns and wanderer ability?
Nope
Why? Because Stian learned his lesson during the accident that happen on Wodfel. That involving yourself with someone's business will bring no benefit towards Stian other than waste of bullets and the risk of having being beaten to death by the three Nvis Trolls.
So Stian grieve in his heart as he was about to turn invisible when suddenly...
'' Hey you there, Come and help me!'' the young girl shouted.
Stian who heard the shout, did not falter and started walking in a unnatural pace towards the direction where Snow Crest is.
Seeing Stian who seems to have no intention of helping the woman said. ''Oi, oi come on now, please help me''

(Nope didn't hear anything , come Stian move on forward and pretend its nothing!) Stian muttered
''Hey! Don't joke around! Come and help me!''
(Keep moving , ignore the distress call)
''Hey hey hey come on now don't leave''
(Move on Stian move on!)
''Please I beg of you, please help!''
(Hhahahah nice try)
''Nooo please, dont leave!''
(..........)
''Oh my ancestors, it seems I have been abandoned by a heartless person...I shall now let fate decide whether I die here or not''
As those words were spoken by the woman, a strong feeling of guilt then resided in Stian's chest as he thought about the stinging pain of guilt as he grit his teeth and finally......
Goddamn it! Damn it! Ahhhhhh I cant leave this woman alone now............fuck
As Stian rushed towards the distress woman as the form a spear out of the black energy threads and launching it towards a Nivis Troll as it digs into the chest of are of the troll like a drill. Then using the threads to form threads of energy to squish the organs of the troll.
As one of the Trolls fell, Stian didn't waste time as then use the same move towards into an another troll as the same move completely drilled inside the troll's head and effectively squishing the brain of the troll.
Two down and one to go, Stian then face the remaining troll when suddenly the arrows and bows in his back who he forgot about was stolen away from him and was then use to penetrate the last troll with extreme accuracy as it burn into its insides.
Stian then did a big sighed as approached the silvered haired woman and asked. ''Are you alright?''
Being surprise by the sudden question directed towards her, the silver haired woman faced Stian and then said ''I am fine, thanks to you''
'' Is that so'' Stian sighed.
''Well, It did take a lot of convincing for you to help , you sure is heartless you know that?''
''Shut up, it's your own problem you know? Besides why didn't you run?'' Stian scowled.
'Well, I was about to, but then I saw you at the distance thinking deeply as you were about to pass by me pretending to have seen nothing''
''Tch.....''
''But anyway, I still thank you for helping me out here, though I can probably escape if it comes to it''
'"You....'' as Stian realized that he has been dupe into helping as he furrowed his brows.
''Oh come now, it's all done, lets move on, by the way whats your name?''
''Stian Peregrine, Wanderer and Pilgim...and you are?''
''Cyra Frey, Adventurer and huntress. Nice to meet you too Stian!''
''Nice to meet you too Cyra'' Stian smiled wryly at the woman who have tricked him into killing two Nivis trolls as he then inwardly cursed fate for falling into ruse of the woman in front of him.

When the army rangers of the United States collide with the members of the Hunter's Guild, who will win? Updates on Wednesdays/Thursdays Cover is my own creation. Tips to reading: This is my first book, so cliches and tropes are used as the base and then expanded upon. My intention is to make it a casual read but deep if you decide to look closer. I'm not a people person, so my focus and purpose for writing this is to explore the world building and magic system, not necessarily the characters. There won't be a villian until the postgame ;) Author's philosophy: I took an professional personality inventory (through a community college back in 2018) and was categorized as a "double-checker." I'm never satisfied with the work that I complete, and never want to share it with anyone. But this book is a challenge to myself! As a rule of thumb, I will only add to the story. I can't remove elements I've already included (unless absolutely, absolutely necessary). PS, I'm a native English speaker.
