Chapter 22 - The Arrival of the Valkyries

Facing off the man in front of him who seems to be the guard captain of these city. Krauss Wolfmoon gritted his teeth as the robbery and assassination attempt towards the City lord of Wodfel turn chaotic as the plan went fubar.

Though, they have manage to steal the Wodfel's Cauldron and the barrels of saps and manage to fly it off with the help of the two strongest wyvern's that the Blood Kin's Of Oss possessed.

Right now the situation is bad, among the 30 original bandits only 10 including Krauss was the only one left standing. They were doing fine until that one person turn into a shadow and then used its strange weapon towards them and didn't even given the chance to fight back. Though that shadowed man seems to have vanish along with that ferocious robed woman and the city lord without knowing.

While thinking , Krauss then dodge the incoming sword strike filled with energy. Krauss then use the blessing given to him by the hand of the mirage rouge to replicate another one of his self after the first one was destroyed. Next, Krauss use another ability given by the blessing and turn his speed faster.

Thus Krauss avoided the strike of blades while parrying the sword of the guard captain. Eventually while the two was in a standstill. Krauss noticed the roars of wyvern's in the sky and grinned with relief since it would mean that their ride out of is here.

In that wake of relief, Krauss glances towards the sky and felt his heart skip as a flight of Valkyries chases after the wyvern riders. Afterwards, seeing the scene, a feeling of worry approach Krauss as the Valkyries arrives due to the fear and anger their ancestors passed upon them when their land was burned in blue flames and cursed with a second death that cruelly made their ancestors walk their ashen lands forever while the Unspoken King grieves in his tomb till a warrior finishes him off and give them mercy.

The Blood Kin's of Oss who were out during the events and when they return from fishing all they could see is the barren lands. And at that moment the "Blood Kins'' of Oss then swear an oath that until the burned innocents get their justice, then the Blood Kins would do everything to ensure revenge.

So after seeing the flight of Valkyries coming after their kin. Krauss felt his body burned as the blood that their ancestors gave them in order to fight Valkyries manifest.

Suddenly, Krauss roared towards his fellow brothers and said:

''Defend yourselves and prepare to fight the winged devils and slaughter them!''

'Whooooooooooo!'' as the remaining bandits roar as they fill with vigor.

At that time, Krauss, who has gained more power because of the presence of their sworn enemies, rushed towards the captain of the guards and mercilessly stab, slash and pound the captain into the ground as if the power gap before were equal no more.

Additionally, the remaining bandits who were also filled with vigor triumph their enemies with overwhelming might that the amounts of guards were nothing to them.

Then as the wyvern's arrive at the top of the Wodfel tree, Krauss and his skin then climbed the branches hastily as they rode the wyvern's and thereupon Krauss ordered the rivers to fight the valkyries in blood while the rest who is injured escape.

Pale looking and silver haired winged beings that have the beauty of a goddess faces Krauss and his riders as they glare with mutual hatred.

Thus, the Valkyrie spoke:

'Foolish stains who have violated the sanctity of the seedlings of the world tree and have dared to rob the holy saps and the cauldron of Wodfel! Surrender now and tell us where you have taken the things that do not belong to you stains and you may shall be given a quick death!''

''Surrender? You winged monsters won't get anything from us. Hah, if you think that descendants of Oss are afraid of such disgusting and heartless monsters who worships a shitty tree, then I can assure that you are wrong.'' as Krauss sneered as he mocked the valkyries with disdain.

''Foolish creatures indeed... Valkyries! Remove the stain of filth that those sinners have left behind and punish them for their deed.!'' as the Valkyrie leader pointed her sword towards the mocking man.

''Don't falter! Attack them and show that the blood of ours is superior!''

Ultimately , the two prideful factions clashed in mid air as they stake their claims on who is the strongest as they disappear from the top of the Wodfel tree.

Meanwhile among the ground lies the Captain of the heavy guards known as Gaius. Here he lays on the cold ground as he was mercilessly beaten down to inch the moment the valkyries boiled the blood of the bandits. Feeling vexed that they were beaten down so hard and suffered loss. Gaius then writhe in pain as he sat down and rip off some of his clothes in order to stop the bleeding on his body.

Due to the blessing he was given off. Gaius was a lot tougher and sturdier compared to others and even with such devastating attacks from the bandit leader didn't manage to send Gaius to the afterlife.

Under the circumstances that they really didn't manage to subdue the bandits and have suffered loss due to this incident that one should feel some shame. At that point where Gaius was done in towards the ground after being taken down by the sinister looking man, he still had the strength to get up and fight back but decided to stay still and play dead the moment he saw the valkyries arrive.

After all, he wouldn't risk his life now that stronger guardians appeared before him. The same can be said to the fuckers who are obviously playing dead in the ground.

Gaius and the others are here because of their jobs. Though they were guards, they were only after the money and wages that the profession provides. They are not that saintly enough to risk their lives to the point that they would die for the job.

Though it may sound weird coming from a guard. Gaius and the others who are now currently sitting quietly knew that what they were doing is something akin to human nature and being afraid of death to the point playing death is a thing that no one is this group of injured guards would feel ashamed in doing so. After all, what is the point of pride and loyalty towards your job when your dead?

Therefore, the guards bow down their heads as they thought of their actions. They do not regret playing dead... but the only thing they will regret here is the loss of the companions who they have worked with. And then as they pray in their hearts in sorry for being afraid of death and then wishes the fallen guards to have their peace in the after life...
