Chapter 18 - Paranoia
As i breath heavily, i find myself slowing walking towards the street and look at the signs. Due to my broken rib and heavy injuries on my internal organs. I have no way of running without injuring myself even further. Though right now I am heavily running on adrenaline due to the life and death situation I am in right now.
Passing through the streets my appearances was not that notice due to the black cloak that covers me that really hides my injuries well. There are times that I would feel hazy but I then grit my teeth and remind myself that I have two goals right now. One is to call reinforcements for the guards on the top of wodfel tree, and the second objective, Is to retrieve morphine from my backpack and retrieve my belongings and refill the used magazines.
Seeing the street finally, I then walk towards the street and into the Vicar Inn's door and entered. Hearing the bell doors chime, the receptionist then look at me and saw my limping figure and then asked:
''Are you okay guest?'' the receptionist asked.
''Ye--.'' before I can even continue I thought for a while If I should say the events to this receptionist and have the receptionist help? Though wouldn't also means that I am involving the receptionist in this trouble? But what if the receptionist can help? No.......with my injuries I need help, and I am desperate right now.
''No, I am not okay, I have one broken rib, one scratch lung and my internal organs are battered...And I need to reach the outpost base here on Nectar Street.''
Hearing my response, The Receptionist then headed towards me in panic and said' ' What happen? Can i help somehow? No, please go to your room first and I'll call a healer nearby and have someone go to the outpost and have you escorted there...So please go to your room'' the Receptionist said professionally.

Hearing that professionalism remark of the receptionist. I only nodded and headed towards my room, grab the key from pocket and then open the room and head inside. Then disabling the traps I have set in case someone tried to stole my belongings, I then quickly took took out a 50 ml morphine and took out a reusable medical injection needle, grab a rubber band and tightly wrapped it around my arm and injected the morphine.
Then feeling the numbness of the medicine taking effect. I then put them all back in the med kit and took out my ammunition box from the inside and took out 44 9mm rounds which from 2000 rounds will be subtracted to 1956 rounds. Pulling out the magazines, I then put the 44 rounds of bullets into them and then strap them into my waist.
Then Grabbing all the Custom mini uzi's magazine from the backpack which were already loaded with magazines. I then rearrange them into a more proper order so that I can easily pull them out in case I have to reload my weapon. Then putting my glock 22 back to my boots. I then took out the goggle mask in my backpack just in case I have to deal with more blood splats along the way and strapped my backpack and was about to go towards the door.
When the door open In my paranoia , I pulled myself into the corner of the door then pointed the barrel of my uzi towards the person who entered. Seeing that it's the receptionist, I lowered my gun down and back off and saw that there is one soldier that wears clothes the same armor as Captain Gaius's troops squad had and the other one is seems to be wearing an outfit and have the strange vials on his bags.

''Guest, this is the healer of this street named Marcus Olvan and the other one is a soldier from the outpost who will escort you. But before that please let Mr Marcus heal you.''
''Understood'' as I agree without hesitation due to the receptionist's words.
Then the Healer named Marcus casted a spell in front and told me that the healing spell he will do now will just reattach and heal the bones. Then after I felt the spell actually taking effect, the Healer named Marcus then handed me a vial of of what it seems a red liquid and drink it. Then Marcus said that the medicine will heal the scratch on my lung and the damages on my internal organs. Though he did say that if my injuries were deeper, then all he could do was probably just lessen the damage which is akin to applying first aid treatment till I got to place of healing.
And after the treatment is done, the guard from the outpost come over as I paranoid talk all the event's that happen and how I got injured. The guard then frowned as I mention the blood kin's of Oss and how the City lord is in danger right now. Wasting no time, the Guard and I then started walking out while the Healer named Marcus and the Receptionist bid us farewell.
Seeing that the healing did by the healer named Marcus did a find good job. I then stride along with the guard while keeping an eye for anything suspicious. Though I am probably just being paranoid, I can still not let my guard down right now and the fact that I don't know if that other wyvern rider is just hiding somewhere waiting for a chance to strike.
Arriving at the outpost, me and the guard then arrived at the Commanding officer's office and then relayed all the details needed to the Commanding Officer of the Outpost and give him the badge given by Captain Gaius. Then seeing the badge, the Commanding Officer then send out couriers towards the outpost near the wodfel tree and the nearest ones to rally towards the tree and rescue the City Lord and the hostages!
Having my job done, I then sighed and then asked the Commanding Officer that I accompany back. Though the Officer was saying no, I then convinced him by telling him how I defeated 3 wyvern riders and one of them have a berserker's Undying Blessing.
After convincing the Officer, I then marched forward in haste along with guards towards the Wodfel tree. Though I know that they could probably do it and win, but I am too paranoid to left Ava there and too paranoid to know what is her situation!

The Lady's Handbook of Intrigue and Murder (High Fantasy Politics)
Summary:The daughter of a dying house is summoned to the Imperial City to meet and perhaps marry a handsome prince. It sounds like a fairy tale. Except Mydea doesn’t have the advantage of a half-forgotten childhood encounter, supreme magic to match the highest echelons of society, or even the privilege of an ally. In order to survive and make a name for herself, she must beat the Imperial Court at its own game. At least no one's tried to kill her—yet. Notes: Basically, if you liked the magic of Harry Potter and the politics of Game of Thrones, you'll probably like this. While the first book focuses on the female lead, and the interplay of competing regional and imperial interests, subsequent books will also cover warfare and how I imagine that differs wildly from historical norms with the introductions of a magical aristocracy.
