《Chosen - A CYOARPG》S1E010 - The Plan
Advertisement
You aren’t aching for gold, especially after you have made such a sweet deal. You decide that working on the scimitar is the best course of action. As you place the weapon down, you inform Rebeca of the deal you had made with the merchant in the town, where in exchange for working on his weapon, you will receive a magical dagger.
She nods her head, but you’re not entirely sure if she’s bothered or not by the fact there’s no gold being exchanged, meaning she won’t get a cut of gold. Though you suppose that, if she was bothered by it, she wouldn’t have allowed you to make such deals, but she had explicitly stated that this was a choice you could make when you first came under her wing.
You place down the scimitar and then go about mapping out what you’re going to do. You’ll need to measure the blade first, then you’ll need to plan out how heavy everything will need to be in order to not ruin the balance of the blade, as well as the materials you will need for the oil bank, the switch, the wire, along with everything else that will need to be worked on in order to allow for the smooth running of the modification, then you’ll need to draw up the schematics for where everything will need to go too and how it will all piece together.
[Roll: D20]
Roll: (15+5) 20 - Success
It takes you some times, a few hours, to figure out how you can make the modification blend in seamlessly with the design of the blade, as well as to keep it from getting too unwieldy, all the while snacking on the fine fruit and cheese that you received earlier in the day. You know how you will need to run the wire along the blade, as well as the material it will need to be made from. You will have a switch that will send out a small amount of oil continuously, so that the wire will remain alight as long as the switch is pressed, and then also once the user lets go of the switch, the flames should dissipate soon after.

It’s not the blade that will be alight, rather the wire, which will run along the blade so that it will seem as though the blade is on fire. This should keep damage to the blade at a minimum, as long as the user only allows small bursts of flame. Once the oil runs out, it should be easy enough to replace, as well as the wire once it’s ruined. That’s how tinkering is, it costs a small amount of upkeep to keep things running smoothly, and one will need to take care of their modification in order for it to run in tip top shape.
Now you have an important choice to make. It’s early evening right now and you have several options ahead of you. Whether you wish to work on the blade, and how. Whether you wish to go meet with the Lord in Arms. Whether you want to go back home to sleep.
You can choose to delve into your work for the rest of the evening and night, which means you may have to sleep on the floor once you’re finally tired enough.
In which case you will need to pick whether you would like to first create the modification, but apply it onto another blade so you are certain it will work, then remake it. This will consume some materials that Rebeca provides, but may also make it so that you won’t have enough material to make the modification again in the future.
Or whether you want to make it as normal, making it once, but not taking any extra precautions. This saves both material and time.
Or if you wish to take your time, making sure to set everything correctly, but do it only the once. This will save material, but will cost extra time.

You can choose, instead of starting the creation of the modification today, to go and meet with the Lord in Arms today to see what task he had in mind for you. You do have the token to allow you entry into the district, so you can go in unmolested. After that, you should be able to safely return home to sleep.
Or, if you would rather, head home and call it a day. After all, there may be a curfew in place, and your home does have a nice, soft bed to sleep on.
Make your choice.

Risen
Note: Slight edits to early chapters (and removal of one chapter - previously chapter 2) have been made 2/2/21 The city, my city, had once been alive in a way that was hard to describe. Thriving, active, hopeful. Vibrant. But life, as I had come to learn, sometimes possesses only the most tenuous of grasps. Finally, in the end, it became my city - mine alone. I was, after all, the only one left. Worse, it was entirely my fault. There was red in my ledger that could never be wiped clean. Not while I still lived, anyway. This story follows Eran, a man who became the opposite of everything he had ever wanted to be; in a world where superpowers began to appear in a rare few, his lack of control over his own power relegated him to the role of a terrible villain - the Reaper, named so for the countless lives that he absorbed and made his own, each only furthering his deadly lack of control. Gone mad with guilt and isolation, he strove for a single heroic act - his own demise. Death was less permanent than he hoped. Centuries later, he woke to a changed world and in a body not his own. Unfortunately, his power came with him. Yet this time, things would be different. This time, he had a chance to bring it under control. He could never truly make up for the things he had done; he could never achieve redemption. That wouldn't stop him from trying to be a hero. The tribal queen and the Medic
The duty of a medic is to help those in need, no matter who they are. So after a bloody battle between imperial forces and Native Amazonians, Jaison went back to the battlefield to search for survivors. It starts to rain and the exhausted young man takes shelter upon a hill and under a tree, that is when he meets a beautiful Amazonian whose warriors need help. Being a medic he decides to help, what could possibly go wrong. Bit slow on updating at the moment since I am rewriting some parts and making some new parts for the story. I am also now making a story called Amazonian and her captive which I want to be somewhat like this story, just high quality and with a better story. Coming soon: Updating and adding new chapters. I also have a blog spot where I only upload images based of the stories I write.

Children of Danu, People of Skill Book 1. (LitRPG/Gamelit)
Hi all, this is my first attempt at fiction ever. I'm sure it's awful, first attempts at new things usually are. Hopefully you can find something you like in it. I had a great deal of fun writing it. It's a basic Litrpg/Game, God sends you to a new world to do their bidding plot. I Know I did too much telling and not enough showing. I'm working on that. The underlying system is one haven't seen or done much. a full Point Buy system, like Gurps, Champions or the Hero system. After writing it a while, I see why folks don't do it. The record keeping is tedious. And once you start doing math in subsequent chapters, you can't go back and add more action, just because you dread redoing all the math. I've got about 80k words written in two "books" on the novel so far. I'm going to edit chapters and try to drop a couple a week till it's finished. Hopefully that will work for folks. I need to punch up the amount of action. I'll be working on that as well. Thanks, Cal-P.S> The cover art is one of the two CIrce Paintings By Waterhouse.
