《Exceptional Normalcy (A Pokemon Fanfiction)》CH11 - I Call Hax

It was exactly 10 minutes after our teacher's declaration that she appeared once again. We all stood in the backyard, which held a medium sized battlefield. All of us were waiting for her to continue her lesson, while silence was all present between our ranks.
"I'm surprised that none of you was late. That's great but know that if even one of you ever arrives too late for my lessons, it will be every single one of you that will be punished for this. I like my surroundings as disciplined and orderly as possible, to achieve that I will do everything I can. Try to deny me my beliefs and you will soon realize why that would be a big mistake. And if you play along nicely and follow the rules you will benefit from it in form of high-level battle strategies and the possibility to practice said theories and strategies. My education system may seem harsh but believe me, if I tell you that it is only for the best of every one of you."
I was completely stunned by her speech. So much passion, such a strong will. How completely crazy this woman was. We were 12, Arceus be damned! The knew shit about being orderly and staying disciplined. That was also the reason they wanted to become Trainers, to be free and to travel the world. We were no soldiers and what she was trying to do here could easily be perceived as child abuse. But I didn't want to make any wrong assumptions so I let it slide and wanted to see this through.
I paid the price for this short moment of a benefaction soon after. It began with running laps around the field and continued with a blitz quiz of all the knowledge we had to this point on battling. For every wrong answer, we had to run 5 more laps and for every right one, we got another question. I grew to hate this existence termed as a teacher with every fibre of my being. When the lesson was finally over I had plenty of malicious thoughts hidden underneath a mask of exhaustion and they wanted to be set free. So I willed them to unleash their fury on the perpetrator of their creation. All this cold anger left me in a trail of black smoke that slowly made its way over to our beloved teacher.

On its arrival, it coiled around the ankle of her and was about to penetrate through the skin when she shook her foot slightly which seemed to disperse her the smoke. The teacher Slowly turned around and looked around with a worried tone in her face. It looked like that whatever she was looking for wasn't there, she then shook her head and left the compound. //The Fuck just happened!// What was that? And why did it come out of me? I analysed the last moments over and over and tried to comprehend what just happened. I came to the conclusion that whatever it was, it emerged out of me and seemed to hold my pent-up emotions. I didn't know what would have happened if it succeeded and I wasn't if I wanted to find out. Deep in thought, I made my way to my next class.
When I was finally back home, I quickly made my way to Marcia and asked her about it. "Marcia, Have you ever heard about humans with special abilities?" She was a little surprised at my question but recalled that I had no memories of my former life.
"It's no surprise that you didn't know about that. It wasn't all that known to the public beforehand. You know about the affinities that we hold right?" I gave her a slight affirmation. "Well, they don't only make us more compatible with some pokemon but they also can, if the affinity is high enough, bring out the hidden potential in us. Let's take a well known young woman from the Kanto region for example. She has a very high affinity with the Psychic-type and is able to levitate objects around her, with the power of her mind. Does that answer your question?" I could only smile in relieve. "Yes, it does. thank you for the information. I will leave you now, I have to look some things up."

I quickly left the room and once again made my way to my oh so beloved holder of information, the computer. I looked up any piece of information that I could find about such abilities. Especially Ghost- and Dragon-type. By what I have found, it was definitely Ghost and it seemed like that I had just cast my first hex today. It wasn't a very rare ability and not even that strong but it was very useful and versatile in its power. I would be able to curse someone for example or even influence a completely chance-based situation. But I had also the power to banish malevolent spirits and ward off evil powers. I had to say that I liked it quite a lot and couldn't wait to try it out.
