《Exceptional Normalcy (A Pokemon Fanfiction)》CH3 - Daily Life In A Hospital
Advertisement
It was now my second week in the hospital and Emely, the nurse which has helped me since my arrival, and I became quite good friends. //Well, I think that she sees me as a younger brother. Heck, she even treats me like one, not that I refuse this position. It feels great that someone makes me feel like I'm not a complete stranger with an unknown background, which I totally am, even to myself.//
Emely would use her lunchtime to talk to me and even found other people from the hospital to distract me. She was such a kind-hearted soul and it was really hard not to tease her for that, most of the time at least. The old lady from room 104, which was two doors to my right, always came into my room
and told my stories from her time as a trainer and golly was she an amazing person back then.
It seems that she once has beaten the champ, but refused to take on the title. She had released her team a long time ago and only kept one of the offsprings from one of them. It was a young Piplup and it was a little bundle of destructive joy. Always running around and 'accidentally' breaking something. It also really liked to cuddle.
There was also a pair of siblings in the room opposite mine. They seemed to be long-time occupants and know the hospital better than the staff. We often played hide and sneak on a grand scale with a few of the other kids in the hospital. All the children had to hide and the angry nurses and staff members were the seekers. What joy these memories bring me.
I don't want to talk about the food here, because you know...*shudder*...There was also quite the amount of pokemon employed here. Most of them being Fairy or Psychic type. Also a few fighting types as security. As I was relishing the memories of the last 2 weeks, I heard my door being opened and a middle-aged man in a lawsuit entering my room. I sat up in an orderly fashion and greeted the man with a smile on a face.

"Good morning, how can help you, Mr?" I took on a naive and questioning face. //Come on take down your defences. I am young, cute and cheeky. No one can
resist my charm.// It didn't seem to work and the asshat continued with his professional business smile.
"I presume you are the victim of the memory theft, yes?" Ouch, direct hit, it was super effective. My stature slumped and a depressing mood was coming in.
"Yes I am, thank you for the reminder. And I presume you are the one who has to work it out with me, yes?" //Yes, I was mocking him, judge me!// And it seemed, that my counter was as effective as I thought it would be. His smile looked a little bit more forceful and I could swear that I heard a little grumbling, something like "cheeky brat", but it could also have been my imagination.
"Yes, I am here to support you in your integration back into a normal life. Now please, help me to fill in this form." They were basic questions, Name, age, school career, future plans, allergies and on it went. //psst, a little hint, most of it was left blank.//
After 2 hours of this 'Tauros-dung', //I have learned so many new 'Bad' words while staying here.//
we both were mentally drained and a little more than annoyed. Well, at least we had something in mutual, our pure annoyance for my unknown past. We did a few medical tests and an affinity test for a variety of energy types, which corresponds with the different pokemon types. High affinity for both Ghost and Dragon and a normal one for Dark and Steel.
The good man then asked me in a stern voice, if I had any dealings with any evil organisations, at which I could only look at him blankly and question his intelligence. he also realised his blunder soon after and apologised for his remark. At least he didn't seem like a bad guy.

But it seemed like his worries were evidently within reason. The Types that Pokemon posses can also be found in human and it was recently discovered that such types do in fact influence the behaviour of the person. Ghost-types would make someone more mischievous and now put it together with Dark. Now you had a future villain in the making. Dragon would make someone a proud person who stands to his words and Steel-types are hard-headed and won't go astray from their chosen path.
//Let's just say that the combination doesn't work very well. But it IS perfect if you want to be someone like Giovanni or Cyrus or..., you know what I mean.//
But the record also stated that it wasn't to be true, only that it was more likely. He then left me with a tablet and showed me a program which was packed with tasks to fulfil. There was math, ethics, writing, logic, imagination. Everything that was normal for a test, but there was also pokemon theory, pokemon caring and and and. It was destined that I would fail that. He then left my room and told me to solve every task I could and that he would be back in 2 days.
I had to groan. //So back in school, it seems. Wait a minute, was I in school before?// And so my fight against schoolwork and the power of boredom went on.

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes

The Primordial
With one goal fueling him, he broke through the final barrier, reaching the apex of power and regaining that which was once lost. Trying to find a new beginning, he reforged himself anew as he awoke to memories of a long forgotten past. Memories that intersected with his new reality. His invincible soul now unchained, surprises await him as he begins his new jouney in an unknown land. I'm just writing this for fun, but i'll never drop it. This won't be something short, as I have the very long term in mind, but I'm a total noob to writing, so I most likely won't release chapters very often, at least until I really get the hang of it. But, the chapters will always be several thousand words long. At the minimum 2k, maximum like 6k... Pretty big variations, sorry. If you like it, great. If you don't, that's understandable. Regardless, if you have a read, I'd appreciate feedback for areas you think I should improve on, whether it's the use of some words or how I should write something or WHATEVER. I'm open to anything, good or bad, because with your help, it'll help make this story better. **DISCLAIMER** So you don't waste your time, I want to let you know what you're getting into, because I like knowing ahead of time before I read something. This might appear like a Xianxia novel, but it's not. It only starts that way. This is a western fantasy world and setting that many of you are familiar with. The beginning chapters might be a bit of an info dump. Some of it might seems superfluous, but a lot of information is relevant to the story. The first few chapters might also seem rushed, but I'll try to keep it exclusive to those. This is a cliche, OP MC story with the typical harem, but other than the quick start, everything else will be gradual. There will be romance, and probably many moments at that, but don't expect anything TOO detailed. If you want something really steamy, look elsewhere. References and throwbacks to stuff most likely. The setting won't be really dark or really light. Middleground, I guess. The MC is far from a young kid, but he won't totally reflect his age. I don't plan on discarding info, abilities or characters that you KNOW should come back and be around. I see it a lot and it sort of bugs me haha... but I could have oversights, I dunno. As I said, I'm a noob. That's it, really. If you're interested, welcome to my world!
