《My Life as a Farmer in Another World》Chapter 8 - The Capital City

While on the journey to the capital city of Notoria, Luke noticed a great deal about the world. He had never gotten this far from the countryside because he didn’t want his parents to worry. Luke got an idea to see if he could fly with air magic. He did a mental google search and it saved. This was his way of taking notes and remembering things since nobody could ever access this mind, even if they did, they couldn’t access his search history. Luke already did some research on how to make a sprinkler system to help water crops. It would be little use to him since he already knew how to make it rain with saint class water magic. Alice had told him that manipulating the weather is not a good thing for a mage to be doing so Luke was looking for other ways to automate his life, a life that hasn’t even started. Till now he’s mainly been a student and all of his time was focused on learning magic. Now Luke was about the same level as his parents and teacher so he would have to figure how he was going to automate his life as a farmer, at least a little bit. Luke got the idea to see if he could learn how to make magical tools. He knew that magic could be used by a person but what would happen if you imbued magic formula or circle to take the user’s power to do things like dig, water crops, and maybe even program a tool to do something. That was when he heard a notification in his head.
“Null Magic Skill Obtained: Program”
Luke wasn’t sure what just happened. Is God playing tricks on him? Luke just blurted out “Holy shit!” Then he realized he was right next to his father for the last 4 hours. Then he felt his father’s gaze. “Hey Luke, watch what you say!” Luke replied weakly, “I didn’t mean to say that, father. I just saw something on the road and blurted that out. Maybe we should stop for a bit.” Luke couldn’t just explain what had happened to him. Wasn’t it supposed to take years to get his next skill? What does null magic mean? Is this a different type of magic? Luke had many questions but not enough answers. He decided that this was already very good and would do more research on Null Magic once he got to the capital.

Luke and James went back on their horse and headed towards the capital on the small road.
After a few hours, the sun was starting to go down and, Luke started to see a castle-like structure far in the distance. Luke and James got closer to the castle, and that was going Luke saw the guards on the walls, a gate open and not many people going outside but inside there were tons of people. Luke and James talked to the guards or knights, whatever they were, and went inside after James showed the guard or knight a piece of paper with a circular logo outline on it. The guards immediately showed asked forgiveness for not letting them inside sooner. Luke thought that maybe it was because James had a rich family and the guards wanted to suck up to him. After Luke and James got past, Luke asked “Why did they ask forgiveness after you showed a piece of paper? ” James replied, “It’s because I am an A rank adventurer and also because my family is rich.” “Father, is the title of an A rank adventurer really that big?”
Luke didn’t know just how much power an A rank adventurer supposedly carried so he concluded it was either that or James was a very rich man. He saw the stone-lined roads, the big castle-like walls surrounding the city on at least two sides because he couldn’t see the other two sides. People bustling around, houses, shops, the houses seemed to get more expensive-looking as they walked more inward. It took another few hours to finally get to another smaller-looking wall. James showed his piece of paper again and they checked into a fancy-looking inn for the night.

James told Luke that it would take another four hours tomorrow morning to get to the family house. Before going to sleep James shattered Luke’s dream of living an easy life by leeching off his relatives when he said “Luke, If my family ever asks you to stay in the capital, you must say no at all costs.” Luke knew that James wasn’t joking with the serious look on his face. So Luke knew it was for his own safety he replied “I promise I won’t.”

Leveled Plane
Update: Yo! Sorry for the late notice, but I will not be posting on 3/6 or on 3/13 due to midterms. I’ll return on 3/20 with a new chapter. See ya then! A fun experience for all ages. Well, it would've been that. Leveled Plane, the VR multiplayer online game renowned for its innovation and variety. Billions of people play the game on a regular basis. Thirty years after its release, the number of people who've "completed" the game is still a resounding zero. So what happens when a veteran and a noob with nothing left to lose take a crack at it? ... Nothing good... Follow along as Heather and Jamie do everything they can to last one day longer, go one step further, all while dealing with game politics and the slow acceptance of their new reality. This is an idea I've had in my head for a long time, and I really want to do it justice, so I'm taking my time with this monster. The initial plan for this story has it spanning at least 3-4 volumes if everything goes well. Any feedback (as long as it's constructive) is welcomed and appreciated. New chapters are released every Sunday.

The Warden had sought to use this bloodline for his own purposes as part of the Great Game, a fully immersive virtual reality world that was created by an unknown entity billions of years in the past. The Great Game was now populated by players from millions of different civilisations across countless galaxies. Braizo is forced into the Great Game by an old enemy in an attempt to kill him, but instead of dying Braizo receives a special ability that is both a curse and a blessing.
