《My Life as a Farmer in Another World》Chapter 3 - Magic

Luke was very pissed off at God, the man didn't even bother to give any advice besides telling him to start magic early on. He didn't even get to see how he died. Were his organs splattered or was his body just sent into a traffic light after the impact? How was he supposed to use his skills ? What kind of people live in this world? What can you do with magic ? Most of all, Luke was frustrated being in this new body. He couldn't move and he couldn’t even see properly. All he could do was hear his new parents talking about how they planned to teach him magic, swordsmanship and farming. Luke knew nothing about farming, he knew nothing about magic and he had never held a sword in his past life. Then he got hungry.
For the first two years of life, Luke was just watching videos on how to farm, how to fight with a sword and demanding sustenance with his high pitched wailing. Luke woke up his parents like any other newborn every night but maybe that was due to his past life of staying up till 3 AM doing homework was manifesting in this new form. Being able to walk when he was 1 year old was a surprise and waking up was his default schedule. Since Luke had a body that was stronger than most people’s, he could run and more strength than a normal 1 year old. His parents would read him stories about the world and all the heroes that came in the past to defeat the great monsters of this world. Luke was very excited when he heard these stories and he got to learn more about the world.
When Luke turned two years old, he was fully able to talk with his parents in the new language thanks to his skill and he could even read. As his parents held a big birthday present in front of him. He asked “when can I learn magic? This was the only thing that Luke wanted to know more about since he met with God and the best way to learn was to use it. Luke was very much looking forward to this day ever since his birth. Luke also wanted to be an adventurer but he was living on a farm so maybe he could become a farmer some day ?

Samantha, being an experienced healer knew that magic could not be just learned, if you didn't have the affinities for it, you get nothing and can only practice the martial arts. So she tested Luke for his affinities to the seven magic types: healing, earth, air, fire, water, light and dark. She didn't even bother to test him on the eighth element because she didn't know how to. Samantha had never seen a person who could wield all seven elements. Maybe the court magician of Notoria? She didn’t want to freak out because this was a once in a thousand years event, she had given birth to a son who was capable of wielding all seven elements.
