《My RPG System》Chapter 23: Advancing

After we relaxed and sat around chatting for an hour, I got to training. I pulled up my daily missions to see what changed. All I could do was sigh. With the requirements and doing 5 times beyond that, as well as cultivating, it would be an all nighter tonight.
Daily missions XIII:
1. Complete 130 push ups
2. Complete 13 minutes of planks
3. Run 13 miles
4. Read for 1.3 hours
5. Cast all skills 13 times.
Reward:
+1 random item form the system store (dependent on rank of host),
+8 to STR, STA, AGI, WIS, AGI, Mind
+1 level in random skill
Note: Going beyond requirements awards bonus rewards
The one thing that made me not get frustrated was the Fact that after this, I would be a D-rank officially. With that thought in mind, I got to work. I didn't follow the usual routine of doing them in 6 rounds. Instead I did as much as I could before I switched to the next exercise starting with push ups. Obviously, the reading was left out, I would do that when I was done. It was 4 right now, so I had 8 hours to do it. Plenty of time to do 5 times the amount of each work out, except of course reading.
When 9 pm rolled around, I completed the 5 times requirement for all requirements besides reading. That was only at 3 hours. So, from 9 until 11 I read. Feeling a bit sick of that, I stopped and turned it in. The feeling of ranking up to D was amazing. a hush of warmth energy spread through out me. It was bliss. I took a look at the rewards I got for exceeding it this time. it was quite a splendid surprise.
Daily missions XIII: Completed
1. Complete 130 push ups (650)
2. Complete 13 minutes of planks (65)
3. Run 13 miles (65)
4. Read for 1.3 hours (5)
5. Cast all skills 13 times. (65)
Reward:
+1 Body cultivation technique
+14 to STR, STA, AGI, WIS, INT, Mind
+1 level in Domain, and Light Domain
My domain skills leveling up was a lucky surprise, and what I needed to boost at the moment. This just made it a bit faster. Then, I looked at what this body cultivation technique was.
Body cultivation technique (D-rank): Use your mana to destroy and rebuild your body to improve defense and stamina so your body becomes as tough as the toughest metal. effect: Increase DEF and STA. Limit: Improve each DEF and STA stat by level number.
Seeing it's description, I was both happy yet frustrated a bit. It's true that this will help my health and defense improve, but it also added to my training. I had the elements to cultivate but now this. Who knew how long this would take. I took a few moments to think before coming to a decision. I would put this to the side, and use it if I didn't need to work on anything else and everything was at it's limit. After all, I was a mage, and mages were known for using magic and their mental stats. So, with that decision made, I relaxed for an hour before I started to cultivate and reach the maximum limit for each element I could. 4 hours later, I was looking at the results.

Earth: level 13: +6 DEF, +6 STR, +6 STA

In the morning, I could finish the rest which were fire and light. For tonight, I have finished everything, so I could finally go to sleep. Hell yes. What a long and tiring day. As soon as my head hit the bed I was lights out. I didn't wake up until 10 AM. Still feeling tired, I got dressed and headed downstairs. My parents were at the table and discussing something. They had their armor on as well. It seemed that they got their meet up time and were about to head out. Once they saw me, they stopped their conversation.
Mom: "Good morning Auggie. We let you sleep in today. We know you were up most of the night training. Just remember, relax from time to time. We don't want you to wear yourself out. Pace yourself and your training. Your father and I just got the meet up time from the guild master. We have to leave in a few minutes. We were going to wake you up then but it looks like it is not necessary. Oh, and by the way, it seems you got even stronger, but there is something as well. I just can't put my finger on it."
Dad: "He better have gotten stronger for as long as he was out there for last night. And yes, you are right. Something is a bit....different."
I gave a goofy grin. They had indeed noticed my rank up, though they couldn't really specifically tell what it was.
Me: "Well, last night was indeed quite productive. I leveled up to D-rank. HAHAHA!"
What I said was like an explosion in their ears. It had taken them 1 year to go from F-rank to E-rank, and yet, their son awakened at E-rank, and improved from that to D-rank in just a week or so! What a madman! Freak! Of course, this was only running through their heads.
Dad: "Hmmph! Do not get complacent. D-rank is still a bug. You need more training. 8 times the requirement for the next two days. if your combat power is not at least 1,500 by the time we are back, be prepared for 6 hours of training with yours truly."
My grin immediately stiffened. My mother had a frown and smacked my father's arm before turning back to me.

Mom: "Don't listen to him. He is just jealous. Anyway, great job honey. You have worked hard. Just remember what I said, Ok?"
Me: "Yes mom, I know."
She nodded and the two of them and stood up and headed for the door. My father opened it and stood to the side a bit to allow my mother walk through. Just before she did, she turned back to me again.
Mom: "Goodbye honey. See you in 2 days. Love ya."
After my mother left the house, my father started to step through, but then stopped and turned back to me, his expression soft and caring.
Dad: "Bye kiddo. Listen to what your mother. Work hard, but take some time to relax too."
His word were a bit contradictory to what he said just a few minutes ago, but OK. With that, he stepped through the doorway completely, shutting the door behind him. With that, for the first time I have been on this new world, I was alone. I stood there facing the door for a few seconds, determined to meet my fathers expectations he had for me as well as my mothers, before I went to the kitchen and made some bacon and eggs for breakfast. Half an hour later, I was finishing cleaning up the dishes and the kitchen. Now, it was time to finish cultivating the last two elements and then start my daily missions again for the day.
10 hours later
i was laying on the lawn exhausted, sweaty and sore all over. man, I probably over did it a bit. It took only 2 hours for me to finish the last two elements. They improved my STR, AGI, STA, and INT by 6 each, bringing them to maximum. Afterwards, I started my missions. they were the same as yesterdays except for reading. That was changed to cultivating for an hour. I already finished that with the elemental cultivation. From then to now, I was doing this. These were the rewards I got.
Reward:
+10 to STR, STA, AGI, WIS, INT, Mind
It was not as good as yesterday but, it got me more stats that pushed my CP even higher. I laid there for a half hour before I dragged my sore ass body up and to the house. I took a long cold shower before I laid down in bed. My stomach growled loudly. I groaned but still stayed where I was at, well, at least until I heard the sound of thunder outside. That got me excited. This meant I could finally cultivate lightning, the element I was most excited about. I quickly got up, ignoring the pain all over my body and went to the window and looked out. Sure enough, flashes of lightning could be seen. It was raining as well, quite heavily. With eagerness, I dragged a chair over to the window, and opened it up. I sat in the chair, closed my eyes and started cultivating. i ran the elemental master technique and sensed the lightning energy. It was dense, the purple lights sparking from time to time. I quickly drew them into my body. As soon as they entered my body, I felt like I was electrocuted, my body stiffened up and my muscles spasmed a bit. However it didn't really hurt. The energy was also warm as it spread throughout my body and transformed it, adding onto my power. This went on for another 2 hours before I stopped and opened my eyes. I quickly took a look at the results of this cultivation session.
Cultivation Completed. Results:
Lightning: Level 13: +13 AGI, +13 INT, +13 STA
Now that is what I call gains! With a smile, I closed the notification and got up. I shut the window, dragged the chair back to it's original spot and flopped down on the bed again, ready for sleep. Just before darkness took me, I took a look at my stat panel.

Tales of the 33rd universe - A Mech Designer story
Meet Marcus Caelum, since young he wanted nothing else to play with mechs. He studied, worked hard and he finally did it, now he is a Mech Designer (provisional). He achieved his dream and now is the time for realization, he now will learn that not all is great, that there are things to learn and that if he wants to do the job well he better adapt. Cover taken from a Battletech manual. This is my "first" novel so do forgive the quality a bit.It is mostly a Slice of life following what I believe a Mech Designer life would be. It will have action, science, comedy, dark moments and some adventure. It will barely have any romance and little actual combat (he won't go off fighting enemies everywhere, the MC is not a fighter). It's medium sci-fi, most hard science with some mana altering normal materials. The pacing is a bit slow, it takes some time for the story to advance. The first arc is completed and the novel is until further notice on HIATUS.I may continue the Tales of the 47th Universe to try my hand at another style and pacing. More info in chapter 22.

Sanguis
In a world inhabited by vampires, various factions are vying for dominance, whether through wars or grueling tournaments. In the midst of the conflict, two unsuspecting humans become caught in the battle. Note: My first story on here, I wanted to try writing a story with battles and leveling up, the kind of story where a character starts at the bottom and world their way up. I hope this story is a good chance to see what works and try out a few different ideas I’ve had.
