《My RPG System》Chapter 17: New party

The next morning.
I got up and went downstairs. as usual, my parents had breakfast just about ready. I sat down at the table and waited for my mother to bring the food. man, it smelled good. As I did, my father looked my way and spoke to me.
Dad: "We heard from the guild master an hour ago. He has formed the team that will be investigating the chaos infection issue. He is bringing them over to the house, and should be here in an hour. When he gets here he will introduce all of them and explain what you will all be doing in detail as well as the quest he just put out to the guild. So, we need to finish breakfast quickly and be ready to welcome them. "
I nodded. By the time he finished, the food was at the table, and mom served us. We ate with gusto and 10 minutes later I was done. Excusing myself, I brought my dishes to the kitchen and went upstairs to change and be presentable for the guests. I was a bit excited to meet these people who would be on the team. I wondered how strong they would be. I put on a tight fitting white t-shirt and black jeans. I then went downstairs to sit with my parents and wait for their arrival. We all went outside and sat down and chatted in the mean time. Roughly 45 minutes later we saw a group of 5 approach they yard. seeing this, we all stood up and walked to meet them.
As we got closer I started to look at the group. the one in the lead was the guild master. Right behind him, walking in a 2 by 2 formation, were 2 women who looked to be in their late 20's, another women who was a bit younger, and a guy who looked to be close to 50 years old. The first 2 women looked identical, twins. They were tall, about 6 feet and had long brown hair and green eyes. they had thin brows and tanned white skin. The leather armor they wore conformed perfectly to their excellent body. Their chest was roughly C sized, and their curvy waists swayed side to side as they walked. One had a bow strapped to her back, while the other sported a pair of daggers. The younger woman had short blonde hair that went just passed her shoulders in slight curls. Her eyes were a bright blue and she had a small, cute nose. Her skin was a light tan, white as well. She was about 5 and a half feet tall and carrying a staff that was almost as tall as her. The guy had a slightly wrinkled pale face, with trace amounts of freckles. He sported a bright red beard that matched his really short hair. He had a muscular frame and stood about 6 foot 6. I didn't even have to look at the sword on his hip to know that he was a warrior.

When our groups met up, my parents greeted the guild master and they shook hands. After their greetings, the guild master started to introduce the people with him. The girl with the bow was Misha. The twin with daggers was Nina. the young girl was Amy and they guy, Nick. As my father told me this morning, these people were my party members that I would be investigating this anomaly with. My parents went next introducing me and my mother. After that, we all went inside to discuss everything. Sitting in a chair in the living room, the guild master spoke first.
Van Hugh: "So, we are here today to introduce you all and get to know each other as well as discuss the details of your groups objectives. You all know what is going on. First, I will talk about the objectives you all will need to do. One, investigate the dungeons in this city and see which ones are infected. Two, determine the degree of infection and how it is affecting the monsters inside. Three, try and clear the dungeon to see if that resets it, or the energy is still there. Four, investigate the area outside the city to see if the monsters their are infected as well. Go 5 miles in out in all directions. The sixth is probably not possible but see if you can find a solution to it if clearing the dungeons doesn't work. I know that this is a lot to ask and that it will take a long time to complete. However, urgency is necessary so the guild will help with whatever you need at a severely reduced cost for you all. We will also give you a certain amount of resources to you guys every month if the situation is not resolved by then. Any questions about what I have just said?"
I shook my head as well as my parents. The group that came with him also shook theirs except Nick.
Nick: "What is the time frame to complete this? Also, why ask us when you have sent out a quest just like this for everyone to take on?"
Van Hugh: "For the time frame, as soon as possible. I know the amount of time it will take to complete is too long to estimate, so I want to try and urge you to make haste. As for the second, the quest that was put out for everyone was to clear the dungeons you have identified as infected. This quest done by other should help relieve your burdens on this mission you have. I trust this has answered your question?"

Nick nodded in confirmation.
Van Hugh: "OK. Good. Now, I advise you all to start as soon as possible. We do not know the severity of the situation, so figure it out fast. You all need to band together to do this as efficiently as possible. I have also informed the royal family of this matter. they said they would take actions as well, though they have not said any specifics. Now, I need to go back to the guild and work on some more preparations. you all should now get to know each other, such as your abilities and what not, so you'll be able to work together better. with that, I will take my leave. Be careful."
He stood up, shook hands with my parents and left. After we watched him depart, we all just sat there in silence for a few minutes before Nina spoke up.
Nina: "Alright. Since what he said is right and we will be working together in the future, i will start and tell you all about abilities. So, I am a melee slash assassin type fighter that can use the darkness element to strengthen myself to utilize quick and powerful attacks. I am an A-rank fighter. My weakness is defense though. I hope we all can cover each other and grow together while abolishing this threat."
After she finished, we all gradually spoke and told each other about our abilities. I was the last to go after my parents finished.
Me: "My name is Aug and I am 16 and only an E-ranker. My ability name is RPG system. I can utilize all the elements to unleash magic attacks from a far as well as up close. i currently have a large attack that damages groups of opponents, while I have another that delivers fast attacks to single opponents while also ignoring some of their defense. My weakness is that i do not have a high CP yet, as I just recently awakened, a few days ago actually. I hope we can all work together to keep this city and world safe.
I looked at each of them while speaking. After finishing, they nodded and then their face widened in shock.
Misha: "Wait, you said you awakened a few days ago? You are already an E-ranker? No way!"
Knowing that there were going to be people who did not believe me, I proceeded to tell them more about my ability and how I can pull up screens of different information and other things. After explaining, I pulled up my stat panel and allowed them to see it. They just sat there in shock for a few moments. I had to give a light chuckle at that.
Amy: "So, we were told that you were the one that identified that it was chaos that infected the dungeon. How did you do it? from what I know, no one else can do that, at least, no one in this city can."
I then told them about my elemental master ability and what I did. they immediately scolded me like they were parents about how it was stupid and reckless. I couldn't help but purse my lips and look away. I heard my parents chuckled at my reaction.
Nick: "Alright, now that we know about each other, we need to get ready to head into the dungeon. we will start with the dungeon you identified first. We can all go prepare and gather any potions or anything else you will need and say met up at the dungeon in around 2 hours or so. What do you all think?"
I had no objections to this, and neither did the rest of them. We shook hands, and went our separate ways for the next couple hours.

Guerdon
The sheer vastness of the planes of reality meant that if a combination of laws is stable enough, then it probably exists. The protagonist encounters one such stranger than fiction world that he has a hard time wrapping his head around. He is left alone in an Alien Reality. To him survival isn't the most important after all that he had been through, but he refuses defeat in his pursuit to understand the strange reality he finds himself in. Join this journey of his new story in finding out the answers and secrets of this world. I like this Genre to put it bluntly but I've always found that illogical 'Science' and flawed laws of the world, typical in these stories. So, I've decided to fix that. I have tried my best to make weirdness make sense in this World filled with Magic. Short of simulating them to verify, the laws of this new world should make some reasonable sense and will be consistent (As much as I humanely can keep it that way). This might mean my story might vary in it's progression speed but as a compensation, I promise to have a lot more sensible Cliffhangers if I must put them in. Also, I'm not a big fan of over using vocabulary when telling a story. So, My Language will be very unsophisticated. Hope that's not a putoff. So, Enjoy your reading!
