Now, with all the main stuff out of the way, let's get back to the present. As I have already said, I am 15 years old and in a few hours, I will turn 16 and awaken. My name is Aug Ulrich and I am 5 foot 8, with a slim build, short black hair and black eyes. My skin is a healthy white but slightly tanned. I do not mean to brag, but I could be considered handsome. *cough, cough* Anyway, back again to the present. I was currently at my home in the living room sitting across from my parents. It was early afternoon, and they wanted to talk to me about the upcoming awakening and make sure I was ready.

Mom: "How are you feeling Auggie?" Any nervousness?"

Auggie? Again? Seriously mom, the name is too embarrassing! Even if it's just us!

Me: "I am fine. Just a bit excited. I have been looking forward to this for sixte....for ages."

Mom with a chuckle: "I'm sure you have been. Now, lets get to the reason we are sitting here today shall we?"

At this point, dad started speaking.

Dad: "As you are already aware, you are here for your awakening. When a child turns 16, they will undergo a mutation and inherit or develop a technique and/or ability that would allow them to strengthen their body and mind beyond the ordinary. In a few hours, you will turn 16 and will undergo this transition. We are here to prepare you for what you can expect when this happens so you won't be caught off guard by it. Now, your mother and I are not exactly sure at what time you were born. We only know early afternoonish so we have to get through this quickly just in case. Listen carefully.

When the awakening starts, you will be engulfed in a bright cocoon of light or energy. You will then feel an influx of energy gush into your body from all over. it could be strong or could be weak. It all depends on the type of ability you get. It could also feel cold, warm, or feel like you are being shocked. Again, it all depends on your ability. So when it happens, try and relax and allow your body to adjust and get used to it. This stage could last for a bit. It usually lasts for about a half hour to 45 minutes. Keep in mind that this is not always the case. It could take longer or shorter as there have been a few instances of this stage taking 2 hours. These are just the average times.

Now after the energy stage comes the body modification stage. The energy you receive will cause your body to change and adapt to it. It could be small or major changes, depending on the amount of energy your body receives. In any case, you will receive immediate improvements in your body and or mind. Depending on the amount of physical changes made, this process could hurt a lot and take a bit of time to complete. However, you need to hold on to push through it. Just remember your mother and I are right here besides you.

Now after this stage, comes the third and final stage, the information stage. All necessary information about this ability you get will be immediately be transferred into your mind. This process is the shortest and can also cause some pain. After that, in the beginning, all the information might be a bit jumbled, so you might have to take a bit of time to adjust and sort it all out. Once that information is sorted out, the awakening is over. If you have any major body changes, take a bit of time to get used to it. After one awakens, they are not allowed to use their ability until they register and the government admin office and get an ID. You also have 2 days to get it after the awakening. For you depending on the outcome of yours, we will go tomorrow if able. Now, any questions? I know that was a lot of information, but it can't be helped. You need to be ready."

I sat there eon the couch silent for a few seconds processing what he just explained to me. I remember it all. That wasn't an issue. I just wanted to make sure I understood everything he said.

Me: "No questions about the awakening. I understand everything and now trying to mentally prepare myself. However, I do have a question though. What did your awakenings fee..."

As I was about to ask them how heir awakenings felt, a sudden bright light took over my surroundings, and I had to immediately close my eyes. I immediately heard my father.

Dad: "Do not panic son. Your awakening has started, though much sooner than we anticipated. Remember everything I told you and relax. Feel the changes as it happens. This will help lessen the pain and get used to your new body faster. We are right here for you."

Listening to my father I immediately calmed down after a bit of panic. I started to relax and opened my eyes. As he said, I was surrounded in a white cocoon of light. I saw nothing but white that was a bit bright. Then I immediately shifted my focus on the energy that started to rush into me. It wasn't warm nor cold. It was just...comfortable. I felt the energy enter and spread through my entire body. My legs, arms, organs, head. Everything was soon drowning in this energy. As time went on, the energy just kept on increasing at an alarming rate. My whole body started to feel heavy and full. There was also a throbbing pain that was barely tolerable. I grit my teeth and tried to get though it. Time went on. Finally after what was 3 hours, the first stage ended. The energy stopped coming, and I breathed out a sigh of relief. If it went on any longer, I don't think I would have been able to stand it. My entire body felt like it as tearing itself apart. However, knowing what was going to happen in the second stage that was about to hit, I shuddered, as the pain from the energy was already too much.

The second stage immediately started after the energy subsided. I readied myself for the increase in pain, but to my surprise, it didn't happen. I guess I was already in so much pain, I couldn't feel anymore pain greater than this. Granted, this process still hurt like a mother. all the energy that was sucked into my body started moving and was starting to be absorbed by my mind and body. I felt my awareness grow as the energy was absorbed by my brain. I felt taller, stronger and full of strength, more so than I have ever felt. This feeling of new power intoxicated me and gave me a brief escape from the pain that racked my body. I felt my entire body change and grow. I felt heavier, sturdier as my body changed and accepted all the energy. This felt so freaking good. Gradually, as time went by, the changes started to slow. The pain lessened as well until all the energy was absorbed. The second stage was complete.

I was just about to celebrate in joy about my new body when all of a sudden, a huge pain came from my head. I felt a whole crap ton of information pour in to my mind. As it kept coming, the pain increased. As time went on it got worse until I was not able to hold on anymore and my consciousness went black. The last thing that went through my head as I passed out from the pain was this ability better be god-damn worth going through all this pain!
