《I Became An Adventurer》Chapter 3 - Departure

8 days later...
Damion had finished his training with Uncle Henro for the basic monster codex book, which medicinal herbs are best to use and how to differentiate valuable ores, he had learnt most of the basic knowledge of monsters while he did not need physicsl training by Uncle Henro as Damion had been doing that since he was young. Damion had also learnt some basic smithing from the village smith. Alvollas had also trained Damion how to use his special skills like telekinesis and mind-read. Finally, Damion was prepared to be an adventurer.(Adventurers would need to know basic monster knowledge so that they know what they are facing, this has helped novice adventurers survive monster quests)
The night before his departure, Damion looks at his status scroll.
"Status Scroll open"
Class: None Level:24 Magic Affinity: All-rounder Vitality: 46 Strength: 52 Agility: 55 Defense: 49 Magic: 48 Skills: Heightened sense, Iron skin, Shadow step, Greater strength, Concealment Magic Skills: Heal Special Skills: Poison Strike, Appraise, Telekinesis, Mind-read, Telepathy Familiar: Alvollas (Mind Demon)
"Though I am able to use all types of magic, I only learnt the healing spell Alvollas used." Damion's village had no magic users even the old retired adventurer had no spells to teach Damion, Alvollas's skills were mostly his mind powers but he did say that once Damion gets more powerful he would be able to get more powers.
"Do you think you are ready to see the outside world" Alvollas is able to speak to Damion via telepathy without being summoned.
"I am, I've trained properly and know the basics. I just need to get that Adventurer rank in Aislentor from the Guild." Damion was looking forward to see the world and maybe learn more about his parents. After reassuring Alvollas that he had prepared properly and was confident, both of them fell asleep.

Next Morning....
"Hey just remember not to reveal your abilites okay, some people in Aislentor are very dangerous." Uncle Henro reminded Damion who was walking out the village entrance, waving everyone goodbye at the gate.
"Thank you for taking care of me everyone!" Damion shouted and bowed at a 90 degree angle, he was thankful that the village he grew up in was so kind.
"I hope he will be okay getting to Aislentor" Uncle Henro looked over to the distance of the small figure of his nephew with teary eyes.
Damion needed to travel to the Kingdom of Aislentor which is known for raising the most highly-ranked adventures in the continent. The kingdom also has the best starting quests for novice adventurers. The Adventurer's Guild there also has great advice for beginner adventurers. It is also the Kingdom where Uncle Henro and Damion's father hail from.
"Hey Damion, are you really planning to walk all the way to Aislentor?" Alvollas was flying over Damion as there were no other people.
"Is it bad if I walk there?" Damion did not know that Aislentor was at least 4 days of walking non-stop.
"I mean you can but it will take you a week to get there." Alvollas staring at Damion.
Damion stared back at Alvollas. Damion thought that maybe he could walk all the way but a week is too long. So he probably thought that he needed to hitch a ride with someone going to Aislentor or maybe buy a horse.
"Buying a horse seems too extreme, I only have 30 copper and 10 silver. Its Uncle Henro's savings so I shouldn't spend it so carelessly" Damion decided that it was too costly to buy a horse just to go to Aislentor so maybe he can meet someone going to the kingdom.

"Hey what's that ahead?" Alvollas spotted a carriage a few hundred metres away before returning back into Damion.
"Hmmm what is that indeed?" Damion went to inspect the carriage.
[Concealment activated]
A group of bandits are currently trying to hijack a carriage carrying a noble's daughter.
"Hey, Hey, Hey where do you think your going Ms noble?"
"OI Shageri don't touch her we need her clean for the ransom, she's gonna fetch a high price!"
"Yes Boss!"
Damion is hiding near some bushes
"Okay let's see their levels" Damion gets ready his sword and dagger.
[Appraisel activated]
[Shageri Merca: Level 14 Class: Warrior]
[Kanrir Doza: Level 15 Class: Assasin]
[Kager Rugal: Level 22 Class: Magic Swordsman]
"Hm, they actually have high levels, Alvollas help me to predict their attacks" Alvollas had nodded and Damion had begun his assault.
[Shadow Step activated]
[Greater strength activated]
[Poison Strike activated]
"First off the leader" Damion cut off the highest level's head first.
"What the-, Shageri it's an enemy" Damion cut the assasin's head after the leader to avoid any sneak attacks.
The warrior Shageri took hold a young woman from the carriage and took her hostage.
"Hey! Don't come any nearer or I'll kill her!" Damion saw the young woman getting dragged off farther.
"Oh, I don't need to come nearer" Damion smirked at the last bandit.
[Telekinesis activated]
A small hair pin from the young woman floated and jammed through the bandit's eye
"My eye, ahh- what the hell did you do to me"
Damion glanced at the bandit then killed him off. Damion went to check his status scroll as he had killed very high-leveled opponents besides that hobgoblin.
"Status Scroll open"
Class: None Level:31 Magic Affinity: All-rounder Vitality: 56 Strength: 60 Agility: 62 Defense: 57 Magic: 55 Skills: Heightened sense, Iron skin, Shadow step, Greater strength, Concealment Magic Skills: Heal, Fireball, Elemental Enchantment Special Skills: Poison Strike, Appraise, Telekinesis, Mind-read, Telepathy Familiar: Alvollas (Mind Demon)
[Skills acquired: Fireball, Elemental Enchantment]
"Not bad, got some decent levels and skills." Damion had a smile on his face but he wore a mask so no one could see it. He found a small grimoire from the magic swordsman and gained a few spells from it. (People are able to learn magic from grimoires if people have the affinity for the magic. Damion had an affinity for all magic so he was able use different types of magic.)
"Um, excuse me kind sir, thank you for saving me and my servants." Damion faced the young woman.
Damion did not want to do anything with other people because he knew that he had to be cautious as anyone could kill him if he was not paying attention but he saw the carriage and thought maybe someone rich is going to the kingdom so maybe he could hitch a ride.
"If you would like we can give you a reward when you reach my home in Aislentor but if your heading somewhere else we can reward you only 50 gold right now, which is unreasonable as you saved our lives."
Damion froze for a second, 50 gold like holy shit, was what was going through his mind. 50 gold was like a lifetime worth of luxury in his village.
"So you are willing to give me more in Aislentor?" Damion looked at the woman who was smiling widely.
"Of course if you would ride-"
"Then let us set off now" Damion cut the young woman mid-sentence while climbing inside the carriage.
The carriage set off to Aislentor!
