《Ninth World Lia's Struggle》ch 46

In an instant, a spear had been thrust my way. Now that my mana reserves have been replenished I could have let it hit me before healing the wound in less than a second. However, why would I let myself be hit? I leisurely moved my body sideways while grabbing the spear. This dumb beast-men attacked me with such a straightforward method, something like that will never hit. While this was happening everyone else took out their weapons and readied themselves for combat.
“What got over you people? Have the miasma gone to your brains?”
“Shut up. It’s you, isn’t it? The one that has been behind the disappearances. You appeared one day when we were tracking down a suspect we hadn’t identified. Not to mention just now you were completely unharmed by the miasma. Moreover, that eye of yours is that of a monster”
Those words made some sense. It’s a sound hypothesis if I may say so myself. This beast-man might have some neurons in that head of his. However, he is wrong. Most of what I have said until now has been the truth, but whatever, I don’t care what they think of me.
“Is that so? Well, you are wrong, but most likely you won’t listen to me. However, I must ask, how are you guys planning on taking me down? You had such a hard time against those rock-monsters that I destroyed in an instant. Do you really think you have a chance?”
How dumb can they be? They should have stayed quiet and escaped or ambush me when I didn’t expect it. Really, muscle-brains every single one of them.
“You are afflicted by the withering curse. By now, even if you can resist some of it, you should be weakened”
This time mister magic eyes was the one to speak. He isn’t wrong though. I was weakened because of that dumb curse. However, now that I am in this dungeon with such a rich concentration of miasma I am in tip-top shape. Bad luck I guess.
“Enough talking. This will be my last warning, if you attack me I won’t kill you but I will make sure to break a few bones. I might even cut a few limbs, your choice”
I cracked my neck and knuckles. I wasn’t trying to intimidate them, this is just a habit of mine. Nonetheless, I could see them getting nervous. In an instant Isa dashed forward with her tower-shield up in an attempt to bash me with it. Naive! I didn’t have to take out my weapons to deal with them, my hands were good enough. With a punch squarely planted in the middle of the shield, Isa was sent flying. Her shield bent in the wrong way, just like her arm.

I think I might have gotten a bit too into it since my arm also suffered the consequences. Well, it doesn’t matter. It went back to normal in a second. Now I need to deal with the bothersome part. Since Isacc has the bubble up the amount of miasma, I can absorb is limited so lets destroy this bothersome thing. With that thought in mind, I gathered mana and blasted it outwards with as much force as I could. That was enough to knock the fools off balance and destroy the bubble.
As miasma permeated my body, I felt once again as my core, and body absorbed it greedily. On the other hand, the bunch that had been knocked off their feet were coughing uncontrollably.
“Right, you guys might die due to the miasma, what a bother. Hey, Isacc, make another bubble. It may cause trouble if I come back without you lot”
As I said that I began walking towards Isa. Her arm was in a really bad state since the broken bone had pierced her skin and was visible. However, before I could reach her, I felt the beast-man weakly grabbing my ankle. Despite the pain of internal damage caused by the miasma, his eyes held conviction and anger. I simple scoffed at him before continuing. His grip strength was none existent at the moment, because of this he had to let go.
I wasn’t planning to do anything to Isa, you dumb animal. I am going to fix her arm. I continued walking while shaking my head. As I reached her, I could see her expression. It was one of sheer terror. As I took another step forwards, I could see a small pool of liquid forming below her crotch. Come on, I am not that frightening, don’t go pissing yourself like that! I sighed before squatting in front of her.
“P-please, spare me”
She was shaking like crazy, and her eyes began tearing up. I just ignored her and carefully took the bent shield of her arm. Because of this, she groaned in pain. I don’t matter how careful I was, moving a broken arm around will always be painful. After that, I took her arm in my hands and looked her directly in the eyes.
“This will hurt, a lot”
Before she could answer I extended my bandages and pushed the broken bone back in place. Her scream resounded through the dungeon. After I was finished I felt the abundant miasma dissipating. Looks like Isacc made another bubble. Looking back at everyone, they were holding their weapons nervously.
“Listen well, I don’t care if you fear me or whatnot. I don’t care if you want to flee, nor do I care if you want to stay. I will finish this dumb mission, get my fifteen gold coins alongside the rank up to C no matter what”

After saying those words, I began walking out of the room we had been teleported into. Just as I stepped outside a bear looking monster tried to attack me only to have its head punched off its shoulders. I am not in the mood to deal with monsters right now.
As I kept walking, I could hear footsteps behind me. Looks like the group of idiots decided to follow me. Glancing backwards, I could see they were keeping their distance. Moreover, they were extremely tense while analyzing each and every single one of my movements.
We continued advancing like this for a while. The monsters here are stronger than the ones they had faced before. Because of this, they are having a hard time following me. On the other hand, the monsters were avoiding me, and very few attacked. Those that did would die in an instant as I chopped them in half or blew their heads off.
The feeling that had guided me before was in full swing once again and with it, I continued advancing. Soon enough we reached a segment of the dungeon that looked different. The dungeon walls look like brick walls. However, this specific tunnel looks like a cave. Another thing to note is that the miasma grew denser and denser the farther we got. As of now, Isacc was having a hard time keeping his bubble up.
“Amelia, wait, I can’t keep going”
Looking back, I saw Isacc’s face drenched in sweat. He was at his utter limit trying to keep the bubble up. Well, it’s not like I care. I just nodded and continued walking. The footsteps that had been following me until now stopped. A while later I was alone, the others were nowhere to be found, I had left them behind.
Not long after we separated, I reached a large stone door. It had carvings of people being tortured. In the carvings, some had desperate expressions while others had ones of pure and absolute bliss. This place felt odd, for some reason it felt familiar and yet alien. Pushing the doors, they opened with a loud creaking sound. Inside was the picture of hell itself.
Women and men, tied to devices of torture. Some of them dead, others at the brink of it. Their nude bodies had markings in purple and black pulsating with energy. It amazed me for a moment to see them alive since the miasma I could feel in the air should be enough to kill or mutate them into monsters. However, I soon came to the realization those markings were responsible for keeping them as they are.
Moans of pain and pleasure permeated the air. Some begged for death, others for more. As I kept gazing at this unbelievable picture something caught my attention. Covering the walls dark and purple crystals seemed to absorb something from within the bodies of the people here through those markings. However, that wasn’t all. The crystals seemed to be connected to an altar where a young and beautiful woman lied in the nude. Her hair is a beautiful gold colour, and her skin is as white as marble.
Looking closely at her, she possesses similar markings to the others. They seem to be absorbing the miasma all around, causing her both pain and pleasure. Surrounding her is a group of hooded people in black and purple robes chanting in an unknown language.
“Who dares interrupt the ritual!”
From the group, a thundering voice came as one of the hooded men walked towards me. Soon after, his voice reverberated in the cave once again as he chanted an unknown spell. I prepared myself for the incoming attack, however, I could never be prepared for what came next. Within my mind, I felt a horrible pain as images and feelings of torture flooded every corner of my thoughts.
I screamed in pain as my body began convulsing. In an attempt to drive the pain off, I began pumping mana into overload nonstop. My body got covered in electricity like mana as I had pulled all the stops off. However, despite my best efforts, the pain only grew stronger. It felt like having a blender inside my brain going at full power.
“To think you have such a high resilience but it is futile. In the end, you will become another sacrifice”
When those words ended I felt another blast inside my mind and the pain grew many times worse. The pain was unbearable, and I wanted it gone no matter what. That is when it happened. I once again heard the voice that had gone silent a long time ago.
“These idiots think that my sister will accept such a weak vessel. I find that insulting! Let’s kill them all, every single one of them”
For once I agreed with this strange voice. Despite the pain, I unsheathed Pyrka and Naru. I will kill and rampage to my heart’s content. Maybe I can get along with this voice.

8 158Legends of Balarel - A Leisurely LitRPG
Glenn Redwood has longed to become an Adventurer since he was a young boy, and has focused every waking moment on that goal since turning 14. Answering the challenge of the Gods of Balarel, he has fought Monsters, Leveled, and grown stronger. Yet the day before his 16th birthday, the day he will earn his dream or lose it forever ... the Gods have made a wager. And no mere mortal wishes to draw the attention of the Gods. ***** This is my crack at writing a leisurely LitRPG. My focus is more on telling interesting stories set in a world where people live under a MMORPG-like ruleset enforced by the Gods, and less on writing another story where the MC gets massive stat boosts every chapter before heading off to wreck the world. There will be plenty of blue tables (it’s LitRPG!) but my Adventurers are just starting out. This fic is about the journey, not the destination, so expect everyone to Level ... leisurely. Updates: M-T-W-Th. I’ll post 3000-4000 words a day, or 12000-15000 words a week. If this posting pace ends up being too much for me, I reserve the right to slow posts down a bit. Inspirations: Blessed Time (Royal Road) Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon? (Anime) Trails in the Sky (JRPG Series) MC: My MC is a genuinely good person who’s both a talented warrior and tactically savvy. He prefers to solve problems without violence but will resort to force if necessary to protect his friends or innocent people. I’m tired of stories starring anti-hero MCs facing endless doom and gloom, so I wanted to write a nice guy with an adventurous spirit who helps people in a thriving fantasy world. That’s all.

How much do you know about transmigration? Are our awareness of such a word, what allows us an understanding of it, or is it just our own delusion that allows us comprehension of what it truly is? It is something that I, the author himself want answers to... Alfir, my alter ego and persona, the very penname I wield shall be the protagonist of our own little story~ a story within a story. Let's watch him struggle against his fate as he plunges himself into a world that he himself wrote. We shall immerse ourselves in his manic perspective. From the third person, we shall observe what he shall become. Until he realizes the reality of I, of me, of a first perspective. When he does, will he break? Or will it be rebirth? I don't know... What I do know, is that he'll just get meaner the longer he remains ignorant of the truth.
