"Amelia first and foremost I want to apologise. I want to apologise for lying and deceiving you and the others. However, I want you to understand why I did what I did. As you might have realised I am a demon, my parents were sent to the human empire as spies and as such, I would become one in due time. To tell the truth, I hate this force job. My parents died because of it and now that you are reading this I can only assume I am dead too.

I had to report your existence to my superiors. If it wasn't me then some other spy would. I have found out that there are at least two spies in every major city and town. So if I didn't tell, and the other spy found out then I would have been done for alongside you. I don't know who the other spy is so I couldn't risk it. Don't worry, I didn't say anything about you being from another world. I tried to keep your information as vague as I could.

You may be wondering, why I didn't say a thing? Why didn't I ask Dan or yourself for help? Simply put, I didn't want to put the two of you in danger. Not to mention that I had grown tired. Tired of the facade I had built for myself. Tired of not being able to show who I really was. Do not mistake my words. I didn't act out our friendship but just the fact of having to hide my identity was driving me crazy.

Amelia, you were a great friend. You saved me from a trap that would have for sure taken my life back at the dungeon. Since then I had many nights were I wondered what would you do if you knew that I was a demon. I like to think that, you wouldn't mind, that we could still be friends. Amelia, please take care and live a happy and long life. One more thing, I would like to ask you to destroy this letter, I don't want anybody finding out I was a demon. That could get you and Dan in trouble. As for my body, I know it may be hard but please incinerate it. After that, I don't care if you tell Dianna but please, don't let Dan know. Thanks."

By the end of it, my eyes had become rivers of endless tears. I did wonder why had she shown herself. With that invincibility, she could have decapitated me before I even knew it. Everything was done for our sake, her friend's sake. You dumb little demon, even if the world became my enemy I would have helped you. I understand your motives, I understand your reasoning but I can't approve of it.

After a while of crying, I managed to calm myself down as I remembered the few yet fond memories I had with her. From the time we met, to that time we went around town eating in different stalls and having a good time. Even when you forced me to go with you to a clothes shop and ended up buying a bunch of dresses I would never use. Our spars under George tutelage. Hell even that time she asked to wash my back as payment for that one favour. she ended up touching me all over teasingly while giggling like a little girl at my reactions.

You dumb little demon. I would have loved to spend more time together, I was even thinking about asking Dan and you to permanently join the party. Now everything has gone to nought. I sighed, there was nothing else I could do. As of now, I needed to clear my mind and think of what I want to do now. For starter, I should get something to wear, my clothes are more like rags and barely cover anything. After that, I should get out of the forest, get to a new town or city and start over.

Friends? I don't think I want any anymore. Just the mention of the word makes my chest feel tight. I don't deserve any after what I did. You may argue that it wasn't my fault but even so, Lizz's blood is on my hands. I don't think I can forget that. I will just move from place to place while making a living as a solo adventurer. I believe that is the best and maybe the only course of action.

Having figured things out, I decided to rip what is left of my clothes to at least use the rags to cover my intimate parts. There was barely enough, looking at myself I wouldn't be surprised if I was levelled as either an exhibitionist or an underdeveloped tribe's women. For now, I should hunt something. I may be able to use monster hides to make something usable. Whatever I make won't be the prettiest but as long as it covers enough for me to be able to walk into town and not be kicked out immediately I would say its good enough.

With a plan in mind, I began my hunt. However, I didn't before having a small heart attack at the thought that I might have dropped and left Naru and Pyrka somewhere in the forest while on my rampage. Thankfully they were tied to my back by the bandages that used to be on my left arm. Looking at my arm, I discovered that the bandages I had riped before had regrown somehow. So before I did anything else I decided to ask pyrka what as this about.

"The bandages can be considered part of your body now"

I thought about it for a bit and it kinda made sense. I could feel what touched the bandages as if they were my own skin. So theoretically speaking since they were a part of my body I might be able to control them. Thinking about it I got into the mood for a bit of experimentation. I began by trying to control them as if they were muscles and it seemed to work a tiny bit. The whole thing was exhausting so I decided to ask Pyrka once more if she knew how to control them. She didn't and so I had to figure things out on my own.

After an hour or so I managed to make some progress alongside some conclusions. The bandages could be moved by me through the electrical currents that would normally be used by the brain to send signals to the muscles. In other words, the bandages were like a very long muscle. However, controlling them as extremely taxing but I could make things easier through the use of mana. By infusing mana into the bandages the whole ordeal became easier.

Going back on track, I began moving around the forest searching for monsters or beasts with my two weapons at the ready. You may wonder what is the difference between monsters and beasts so I will quickly explain it. Monsters are beings made of pure mana and as such, they tend to spawn in places with a high concentration of it. Beasts, on the other hand, are simple animals that have absorbed large amounts of mana before mutating into beasts or magical creatures.

I would like to find a beast and not a monster since the later's body tends to simply dissipate into the air leaving nothing behind. Sometimes they would leave something but that was up to luck. Also, this is only the technical terms but most people tend to ignore them and call whatever they like at the moment disregarding what they actually are. I am one of those people so when I say beast or monster I refer to either.

It took a while of walking, around an hour or so, it could also have been a few minutes or even longer. I don't have a clock to keep track of time. Either way, I managed to find a serpent looking beast. It was large, really large. If I had to guess I would say it was as long as a school bus and as thick a tree trunk. Friking thing could swallow me whole! However, I wasn't discouraged as a grin crept on my face.

As I readied myself for the attack I noticed a difference in light around me. In an instant, my instincts screamed at me to dodge as I felt killing intent coming from above. In a fluid motion, I dodge to the side as a large black creature fell where I once was. Looking at it, it looked just like the snake I was eyeing! Feeling tense I turned to where it was supposed to be to find it moving towards me. There were two snakes! No, wait! just like before I had to dodge to the side as a third snake came from my back!

I guess they had set up an ambush or something. Now the hunter becomes the hunted and the hunted is me! Just kidding, I don't feel like these guys pose a threat to me. It's a bit odd before I would be pretty scared but now I feel like I could take them with my eyes closed. While being lost in my thoughts one of the snakes went for a bite. I can only say that it was a bad idea since their enemy is me! In the same motion, I moved to the side while slashing with Naru.

The other snakes became wary as they saw the head of their comrade rolling on the floor while the body flailed around uncontrollably. One down two to go, I was in a good mood but it didn't last as I felt a burning feeling on my face! I had let my guard down and became distracted. In that instant, one of the snakes spat its poisonous acid at me! And it f*cking hurts like hell.

As my face was being melted off the snakes took the chance to attack me once more. However, that was the wrong choice. If they had scaped in that window I might have been unable to catch them but now, now they were right in front of me. Even if I was blinded I could tell they were coming right at me. In my anger, I grabbed the snakes' heads and bashed them together. The result was gruesome as their heads exploded sending blood, bones and brain matter everywhere.

After a while, my face had healed and I began to kick the dead body around to try and relieve some of my stress. Don't worry, I made sure not to go overboard and turn them into mush. I still need their hides for clothes and their meat for food.
