《Ninth World Lia's Struggle》ch 27

A new day, it's time to rise and shine. After a good night sleep I feel invigorated, today is going to be a great day. For starters a stroll down the calm streets of the village to get myself acquainted with the place then a visit to the guild branch here and finally a good orc meat barbeque, nothing could go wrong.
"Shut it you idiot, you don't deserve my respect or anyone's for that matter!"
Shouting so loud so early in the morning is bad manners you know, well I say early in the morning but it's not that early. Either way what's all this ruckus about. Looking out the window my eyes instantly spotted a pair of rough-looking guys with weapons drawn, around them a circle of people watched the events unfold.
"tch. I don't want your respect or no one's for that matter old fart! but I won't allow you to run your mouth about things you don't know anything about!"
Their weapons clashed times with a loud clang before separating again. Well, I don't know what is going on nor do I care, it's not my problem and I would like to keep it that way. Turning around I picked up my stuff and went downstairs. There the old lady from yesterday gave me a smile and offered some breakfast which of course I took with delight. Choosing a desk nearby I sat down and just as I was about to start eating the door that leads outside swung open. To my horror, a person flew through the place landing on my desk spilling my precious food everywhere!
"That's it, someone is dying today!"
I took the man by the back of his neck and with fury dragged him outside of the establishment. I recognised the man as one of the two who were fighting outside. Locating the other my fury incremented almost exponentially as he nonchalantly stowed away his sword.
"you know, you should be careful where you throw your trash here I will give it back!"
I shouted at the top of my lungs as I threw the man in my hands towards his previous opponent. Now you need to understand, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Moreover, today was meant to be a nice day and this two had to ruin it so early in the morning! Maybe because of that, I had used a bit more strength than what I wanted to. Both men collided and rolled on the ground a few times before stopping.
"Now the two of you will be coming with me, you will apologise to the nice lady who prepared the food you wasted and you will pay for it not to mention a new one for me capish!"
They groaned a few times as I tapped my foot on the floor waiting for their answer. Really, my patience was running short right now since I was really looking forward to that nice-looking breakfast. It was scrambled eggs with sausages and toast! Just thinking about it makes my mouth salivate!

"you, who do you think you are to treat me this way!"
One of the two idiots finally spoke, he was the one I had thrown. You know I wasn't serious when I said before that someone was dying today but now I feel tempted. Who do I think I am? I am the person who's breakfast was ruined! that's who I am, give me back my awesome breakfast and peaceful day!
"It seems you haven't learned your lesson, should I throw you a few more times until you get it"
That voice again. This is the second time it escaped me, the first one was yesterday. It sounds way too scary and kinda evil, but right now it's a perfect fit for how I feel. I already got read of a pair of trash yesterday, what difference will it make doing the same today.
"You dare threaten me! I will have you know, I am the son of this village's chief, you won't get scot-free if you-"
I dashed in an instant, grabbed his head with one hand, and shoved him again in a fit of anger. I don't give a flying crap if you are a vagabond or the son of the king, in my eyes, you are trash damn it! Just pay for the breakfast you ruined and a new one too, you little piece of shit! I looked at the other guy to see if he wanted to have a go at flying like his friend. He looked back at me with a terrified expression before talking.
"I will apologise, don't put me in the same boat as him!"
Good at least this one has a bit of decency. Now let's see how the other idiot is doing. If he is still going about his grandeur or whatever I will toss him a few more times. Walking towards the groaning person sprawled on the floor I began to ready my arm for a few more throws. My steps were audible not because they made a lot of noise but rather because not a pip could be heard from the crowd.
"Now will you smarten up and apologise or should I toss you all over the village like an old rag first."
I audibly cracked my knuckles to drive the point home. I was angry and only a good breakfast could fix my sour mood. The guy looked at me with hate-filled eyes, seems like I will have some fun treating him like a ragdoll. As I stretched my arm his eyes widened. Maybe he was still sceptical, but after two throws and the possibility of a third coming ever so close he realised I was serious about my threat.
"Wait! wait! I will apologise! I swear! I will also pay for your breakfast so stop!"
I smirked, see it was that easy. Dusting my hands I signalled towards the inn. Both of them went in and audibly apologised, then each paid for one breakfast. The guy who gave up first paid for the one that was lost since he was the one who threw the second guy. Finally, both left in a hurry and I got to enjoy my longed for breakfast after a light workout.

After finishing I gave the owner my thanks, he answered with a wry smile. I guess I went a bit overboard but who cares what's done is done. I began my stroll through the village soon after as people gave me some odd glances from time to time. I get it okay I did make a number on those two but it's not my fault! it's theirs for ruining my perfect morning! Anyway, after I got bored of my stroll I began asking around for directions to the guild branch here. I say guild branch but when I got there I discovered it's more of a simple cabin with a single receptionist. Well, it's a small village so I guess this much is fine.
"excuse me, I came for the orc subjugation request"
"Is that so, well here are all the documents you might need. If you have anything else you may want to know, feel free to ask"
With those words a bunch of papers where pushed towards me. Looking at them I must admit I am impressed. A map of the place alongside witness reports, among other things. Well with this I should have an easy time tracking those pigs down. I memorised as much of the useful information as I could since before leaving. Why didn't I take the papers? Well, I can't, if something were to happen and I lost them then things wouldn't go well for the next group that tried the quest, as such the documentation never leaves the guild.
Well, I doubt it will be difficult, I just have to roam around the forest until I find them or their tracks, from there things become easier anyway. As I walked towards the east exit of the village a group of people stood before me. Five in total, one of them was the so-called son of the village chief. Well, this is great isn't it, more trouble with this moron.
"it's her, she was the outsider that attacked me for no reason even going as far as threatening me"
The rest of the group got on guard took out their weapons and prepared for combat. I have had enough of stupid people already. I would be scared if any of them was intimidating, but none where! they look like a group of farmers that got their hands on armour and weapons with the bare minimum of training! hell, even Dan or Lizz could wipe the floor with them. Stop wasting my time damn it!
"By the power conferred to us by village chief Matheus you are under arrest for attacking Michael the village chief's son"
One of the men spoke while approaching me with a pair of wooden handcuffs. Are they dumb? this is a magic world with overpowered people that can kill monsters with their bare hands! unless those cuffs have amazing magic on them I doubt the could hold anyone of such people much less me dammit! Fine, let's give them the scare of their life! I placed my hands in front of me so they could cuff them. To my relief, the cuffs didn't give any magic signature. In other words simple wooden cuffs. When the guard finished securing the cuffs I gave him a brief smile before pulling them apart with almost no effort.
"You know, those flimsy things might work for any old villager around here, but against anyone slightly stronger they are useless"
The guard's surprise only lasted a few seconds before pulling his sword out while swinging it at me. Such aggressiveness against a defenceless lady. Without effort, I dodged the attack delivering a kick to his gut in the same move. The poor guard was sent rolling stopping at his comrade's feet. I decided that I had enough of this farce and took out my guild card.
"Look you bunch of idiots. I am the adventurer that came here to fix your orc problem. That idiot over there got himself in a fight and ruined my meal! I just asked him for an apology and compensation, since he refused I gave him a reason not to. That's it! If you guys insist in arresting me then go ahead and try"
Yea I will admit I have a short fuse but what can I say, dealing with idiots is not my forte. It took a second for the guards to process all the information before one of them decided to speak.
"s-sorry miss, b-but we will have to arrest you f-for attacking one of-"
"nonsense, we are in the wrong here. Miss, please ignore my subordinate's words. We will report the events to the chief, moreover, I would like to thank you for dealing with the orcs"
The soldier I had kicked just now was the one to interrupt the previous one. It seems he isn't an idiot after all, I kinda feel bad for kicking him. Well, that doesn't matter now, I gave him a nod and made my way towards the gate. Let's hope those orcs aren't as troublesome as this villagers sheesh.
