《World Jumper》Chapter 33

Jet pulled his bowstring, watching as Lord Crimson flew through the air. The bow hummed as he aimed, right for Lord Crimson's heart. Holding his breath and steadying his aim, he let the arrow fly. Watching the arrow fly in slow motion, Jet couldn't believe his eyes. Lord Crimson somehow twisted in the air, the arrow hitting his shoulder instead, pinning him to a tree. However, the arrow snapped under the weight.
Lord Crimson shot to his feet and towards Jet. He reached up with one of the golem's hands and grabbed his leg. Falling face-first into the ground, Lord Crimson growled, then the air golem Alex had control of slammed into his back. Jet already had another arrow pointed at the man. Before Jet could fire, an explosion threw him back twenty feet.
Getting up as quickly as he could, Jet looked down in horror. There was a sword stabbed through his stomach. Lord Crimson pulled the sword out slowly. Jet realized he hadn't left overdrive. The pain must have knocked his overdrive off. Then his world spun as Lord Crimson punched him across the jaw.
Jet's world just spun. Shaking his head, he coughed up blood. There looked to be teeth in the blood, but he didn't have time to check. The next moment the world started to spin once again. He went flying through the air slamming into the ground.
Alex didn't give Lord Crimson another chance to hit Jet. She landed hard on the ground and stood up at the height of ten feet tall. Growling, Alex swiped her paw at Lord Crimson, leaving deep gashes on his chest. The claws had charged lightning going through them, making Lord Crimson fly backward.
Lord Crimson got to his feet, looking at Alex. "So, you're still alive."
"I see you haven't changed over the years," Alex growled out, lightning sparking between her horns.
A smile creased Lord Crimson's face. "I can repay you for the eye you took from me twenty-five years ago."
Alex got ready to leap. "I'll finish what I started."
Jet could hear a battle going on nearby. Slowly opening his eyes, he could just make out Alex fighting. His body hurt all over and refused to move. Dirt was getting in his throat as he breathed. Then he noticed the pool of blood, too much blood. His body felt as if it was on fire, but pushing past the pain he cauterized all his wounds. Well, he thought it was more painful but wasn't sure. Since his body felt hot and now he was starting to feel cold and numb.
'Alex, I think I'm dying.' Jet said and sounded weak in his own thoughts.
'Jet, I know you hurt, but you need to get up.' Alex knew it was only a matter of time before Lord Crimson noticed she was shrinking.
Jet opened his eyes again, looking at his hand. He tried to move his hand, but it wouldn't move. Nothing would move, no matter what he tried. 'My body won't move.' Jet choked on some dirt and blood.
Alex didn't answer. Jet could see she was starting to slow down. Then Jet thought, 'what would my dad do?' He created water with his magic mixing it with his blood. Jet wasn't sure how bad this would mess up his body, but he didn't care. Usually, he just sped up the blood in his body to move faster. He even could tighten his muscles for a boost to strength. The water seemed to be working, his hand started to move.

'Hang on, Alex.' Jet said as he clenched his fist. Then he tried to pick himself up. Now he was sure water wasn't a suitable replacement for blood. His whole body went from being cold to a burning inferno. It felt like hundreds of needles were piercing his lungs as he breathed. Bones could be heard popping with every move. His jaw hung loose with blood and saliva dripping from his mouth. Raising a hand, a small glowing ball started to form.
The small glowing ball would expand then shrink. Jet was using fire and wind magic and compressed like it was, made quite an explosion. He knew lord Crimson's gear is fire resistant. 'Let's see how fire-resistant that gear of yours is.' Jet thought to himself.
In the camp he had poured five percent of his magic. This time Jet planned to put quite a bit more. The grass that hadn't caught fire started to combust from the heat of the ball. Trees that hadn't caught fire began to smoke from the intense heat. Jet had been running water through the ground and over his body to keep cool.
'Jet, he's noticed you. Hit him now while I hold him.' Alex sounded muffled in Jet's head.
'Not enough yet.' Jet had gotten eleven percent of his magic into the ball.
'Are you nuts? There is a good chance that ball of magic is going to kill you.' Alex's body had shrunk down to seven feet. Which still was quite significant to a person, but Lord Crimson had noticed. He was attacking with more ferocity after seeing Jet up and casting a spell.
'And if we don't get him with this attack? He will catch up with the girls. So this will be our final attack.' The ball of magic looked like it was twitching. Jet had it up to eighteen percent of his magic.
The world looked like it was bending and twisting from the heat. Trees had turned to ash, and the ground cracked from the heat. Jet's wind magic stopped working. He couldn't find any air around them. Even Lord Crimson couldn't breathe anymore. However, that didn't stop him from trying to get Jet.
Jet's vision had started to go black. 'Now.' He screamed in his head. Alex clamped her jaw on Lord Crimson's shoulder and wrapped her tail around him. With twenty percent of Jet's magic in the ball, he threw it forward at them. With last-second preparations, Jet fell into the ground. Lord Crimson's screams of rage couldn't be heard over the massive explosion.
The ground shook and got hot on Jet's back. He thought he had buried himself deep enough underground. Then the rumbling stopped, and the ground started to cool off.
'Jet, move the dirt so you can get some air.' Alex yelled at him.
All the dirt around Jet blew away, and Jet took in a breath. His lungs burned from the hot air, but he didn't care. It already hurt to breathe. Then he made a dirt pillar to prop himself up to take a look around. To his horror, Lord Crimson was still standing, and looked to have burn marks covering his body. He stood in the crater's center, which looked to be at least a hundred feet wide. Jet realized where he had buried himself was in the crater range. So he figured the explosion almost got him too. 'Why won't this bastard just die.' Jet thought as Lord Crimson started to stagger towards him.

Jet tried to move, but his body just wouldn't. So he sent an earthen spike at Lord Crimson, however to his dismay, the earth spike was so slow. Lord Crimson just staggered around the spike. When he stopped in front of Jet, he pulled back a fist. Jet's world went black as the fist struck him. The last thing he heard was the sound of glass shattering and the sound of a horn.
Lord Crimson
This fight had gone on far longer than Lord Crimson had intended. First, the brat had gotten away with the princess. Then he somehow managed to kill his brother and his son. His son Yeye wasn't a significant loss to him. However, his brother was an invincible healer. In his rage he killed all the survivors off. He wasn't sure how this boy had pulled it off. Not only that, now he had to deal with Zenobia, although she was not as strong now.
The biggest threat Lord Crimson decided was Jet. He could feel the heat coming from the ball. Something else had started to bother him. Zenobia's wounds healed instantly, and she now looked shorter. He took a quick look at Jet and cringed inwardly. His eyes were glowing a bright blue, and his hair looked like it was fire. But his jaw was hanging with blood and drool running from his mouth. Which made for a scary sight, considering he was covered in blood.
Lord Crimson decided to get Jet out of the way. He had planned on capturing the kid and torturing him. But this was getting out of hand. Then before he could do anything, Zenobia bit down on his shoulder and wrapped around him. Then he watched in horror as the ball of magic shot towards him. He tried to break away from Zenobia. Then suddenly, Lord Crimson slammed into the ground from the force of the explosion. He screamed as his body got burnt. Before Lord Crimson would pass out, he created a lava wall around his body. But the force of the explosion ripped the wall apart.
After the shaking had stopped, Lord Crimson took down what was left of the wall. It was hot and hard to breathe. His body screamed in pain with every movement. When he got to his feet, Jet started to come up from the ground. Jet was held up by hands made of dirt. Lord Crimson made a decision. Jet had to die here and now.
As he walked towards Jet, he saw an earth spike coming at him. Lord Crimson staggered around it easily. 'So the boy damaged his magic cores.' He thought while pulling back his fist and punching Jet in the chest. Then something strange happened, the world blurred as his fist hit. The next thing he saw was Jet fly through a window.
Taking a look around, there were people all around and dressed strangely. He took a step back, not having any idea what was going on. Then a sound of a horn went off, and he turned. There was a giant metal carriage heading right at him with no time to think the metal carriage hit him, throwing him through the air slamming into a building. When Lord Crimson looked down, a metal object was stuck through his chest.
Detective Davis
Davis felt tired. It was one in the morning when he got the call. They told him someone had just popped out of nowhere. He was too old to deal with these kids. For starters, when they come back, they have unnatural powers. When he pulled up to the scene, he inwardly sighed. Then he noticed only a little area cordoned off, So at least there wasn't a fight.
Walking up to one of the uniformed officers, Davis waved. "What do we have today?" He even thought he sounded older. When he was only Sixty three.
"Detective, don't worry, the two who popped in this time aren't going to make trouble. There's an older gentleman that died and a kid on the brink of death." The uniformed officer explained.
Davis walked forward to look around. First thing he noticed was a bus with damage and a man stuck on a flag pole on the building. 'How unlucky do you have to be to end up like that?' Davis shook his head and headed to where the paramedics were running around.
Looking in the store window, Davis winced, looking at the boy. The boy was covered in blood and bruises. His jaw just hung loosely, and his skin was as pale as a ghost.
"Hi Davis, you look a little tired." A man walked up beside him, holding a laptop.
"Nope, not tired at all. I got two hours of beauty sleep." Davis smiled tiredly. "You, on the other hand, look like shit, Paul." Nobody on the police force was sleeping well these days. "Get anything on who they are?"
"Just starting to run their fingerprints now," Paul said while yawning.
After standing and looking at the kid, Davis thought he looked a little familiar. Davis reached into one of his inside coat pockets and pulled a picture out. "Paul, try running the prints against Jetsford Husk Gardner."
Paul looked at Davis, shrugged, and did as asked. Then to his amazement got a match. Looking back at Davis, he asked. "How did you know?"
Davis turned and looked at Paul, then showed him a picture of a boy. "He was the first to disappear, over eleven months ago."
