《World Jumper》Chapter 30

Rachael sat on a stone chair watching Relo sleep. She would've thought that a stone chair would be uncomfortable. However, Jet had a way with magic. Each chair was fitted for each of them. 'Wait, how does he know my body shape?' A thought struck her.
Relo sat up, holding her head. "How long have I been out?" She jumped out of bed.
"A few hours," Rachael said in a whisper.
"Jet's already been out that long?" Relo grabbed World Breaker. "I'll go check on him."
Rachael stepped in front of Relo to stop her. "Jet said to wait here."
"Jet is hurt. He shouldn't even be out there." Relo walked around Rachael.
"I asked him not to let you go," Rachael said hurriedly.
Relo turned to Rachael. "Why?"
"I don't want to lose another sister." Rachael had tears falling down her face.
Relo could see a flurry of emotions on Rachael's face. She slowly walked forward to embrace Rachael. She had always thought of Rachael as a sister. However, Rachael never really let her feelings show. Then something caught Relo's attention. One of the walls had water seeping out of a small crack. Then the room shook as the ceiling pulled apart to show four people standing above them.
Rachael reached in her pocket and snapped the twig Jet had given her. Relo, on the other hand, had gotten into a fighting stance.
"Well, don't you two look cozy?" Yeye laughed at them.
"How did they find us?" Rachael backed up to a wall.
Yeye smirked at them. "Simple, I've been using water to find caves in the ground."
Relo jumped out of the hole and noticed a strong wind. Something felt off about the wind. "Come any closer, and you'll die." Relo provoked them.
Yeye bent over laughing at Relo even wiped a tear from his eye. "Please, your guards stood no chance against us. What makes you think you'll be any different?"
Relo took a step forward to be almost knocked off her feet. There had been an explosion in the direction of the Crimson Swords camp. Everyone had turned in that direction to find a red glow and smoke rising into the air.
Then Relo could make out Alex heading towards them. She ran right up to Relo and stood glaring at the four people. "Jet's on his way. But, we will need to distract them for a few minutes."
"What the hell is that?" Yeye looked at Alex with curiosity. Then pointed at Alex. "Don't kill that beast. Father might be interested in it."
The other three men just nodded and started towards Relo. Yeye ignored Relo and headed towards Rachael with a grin that would send kids running in fear.
"I will not let you hurt her." Relo jumped at Yeye swinging World Breaker. However, her strike didn't never even land. World Breaker disappeared from her hands, and Alex disappeared screaming.
Jetsford-Aarron
The men that had survived saw that something had changed in Jet. Jet person hadn't changed, but the way he held himself was utterly different. He raised a hand and started opening and closing the hand.

"Geeze, Jetsford, what's up with all the damage. Your body barely moves without the aid of magic." Jet's body cocked his head and frowned.
"Take it easy in there. I'm just helping Jetsford out." He stood there a bit longer before talking again. "I see, then I should hurry up with these four."
"Think we will be easy to fight. You'll pay for killing so many of us." One of the men yelled at Jet.
"I didn't kill any of you." He said, pointing at himself. "I'm a completely different person. The names Aaron, I will be your opponent today." Aaron bowed with a flourish.
Three of the men shot at him with bows. Aaron stood up and flicked them away as if they were nothing but a nuisance. Then his left arm fell limp. "Really, this is what I'm talking about." Aaron then used water magic to force the arrowhead out of the shoulder. He winced at the pain and cauterized the wound.
Well, Aaron was distracted. The man that didn't shoot an arrow got close. He swung his sword down at Aaron. Aaron just looked at the man and frowned. With a flick of his wrist, the man's sword was sliced in two.
"What's with that sword?" The man backed off.
"You like it? This is my masterpiece, World Breaker." Aaron grinned wide, showing off the sword. "Well, shame you all got to die." His grin got a little more evil.
The man turned to run, and the other three shot more arrows. Aaron was about to kill the man running away and frowned. He took a step to the right, just dodging a fireball that slammed into the man running away. "Hey, watch where you throw spells. You could hit your own people." He said without turning around. Then stabbed the man through the chest, putting him out of his misery.
"Who is this guy? He may be on par with Yeye." The man that threw the fireball said.
Aaron coughed, trying to hold back laughter. "Please don't compare that kid to me." They all attacked Aaron at once. He closed his eyes and waited. Then he pointed at two men. "You two plan to use a combo of wind and fire." Then pointed at the man behind him. "You plan to send your own fireball, so they hit theirs and explode. However, that won't work on me"
Just as Aaron said, the magic was sent flying at him. Without moving, wind and water flew around him, destroying all their spells. "Good try, but I'm supposed to be in a hurry."
Three small fireballs formed above Aaron's head. "I'll use a Jetsford original." He smirked, and the three fireballs flew in each of their directions. They all dodged, and they went wide eyes, as each of them got hit anyways exploding on contact.
Aaron staggered forward. "Crap, times running out." He looked at the dark sapphire on the sword. "If only I had used a diamond." He took off at a jog towards Rachael's location.
"I told you Jet will be fine," Aaron answered Alex. She couldn't actually talk, so it was more emotions than anything. "Yes, this is just temporary. I'm just a copy of thoughts, and I'll disappear forever in a few more minutes." Reading Alex's thoughts was not easy, and he did a lot of guessing what she wanted.

Aaron jogged right into the middle of Yeye, about to decapitate Rachael. "Stop or else," Aaron yelled their way. To his surprise, everyone stopped what they were doing. Aaron took a look around for Relo and saw her bleeding on the ground. He walked up to her, and the two near her backed off.
Relo opened her eyes and looked up at him. "Jet, run." She said in a weak voice.
Aaron leaned down and looked her over. "Sorry dear, Jet is currently out. I'm Aaron, and I'll take care of everything from here." He said in a calm, soothing voice. Then made sure she would be alright before getting back up.
Relo had a puzzled look on her bloody face. "You're not Jet. You different." She said slowly and dizzily.
"Well, if it isn't Sir Jetsford." Yeye was curious where Jet had been hiding.
"Sorry, Jetsford is sleeping right now. So you will have to deal with me from now on. The names Aaron." He said with another bow and flourish.
"No, you are definitely Jetsford. I have a painting of you for verification." Yeye said with certainty.
"Oh, this is most certainly Jet's body. I'm just taking over as the driver." Aaron said with a cocky grin. Then created a wall of water, then almost got hit by a wind blade flying through the wall. Aaron used the sword to break the spell before getting hit. After a few seconds, he slapped his hand on his head. "My bad, I forgot ice magic didn't work on this world," Aaron reassured Alex.
Yeye got tired of Aaron and lashed out at him with a water whip. Aaron just smiled and put the tip of World Breaker into the water, then sent lightning through the water whip. Yeye went flying backward, slamming into a tree. The other three men then attacked Aaron all at once. Aaron sidestepped the dozen earth spikes and fireballs.
"Come on, guys, be more versatile." Aaron raised a hand and twinged. The left-arm still hurt on Jet's body. However, that didn't stop him. Wind and dirt started to spin around one of the men. The dirt shaped into tiny needles, then the man started screaming as the needles started piercing his body. He screamed for a few minutes, then fell to the ground in a bloody heap.
One of the men turned and ran after witnessing the other man's death. Aaron didn't let him get far. The dirt under the man cracked and opened up to an inferno. Screams could be heard as he fell into an inferno, burning the man into ash.
"Really, you think I'm a psychopath. Please, I have way more emotions than Jet." Aaron had a shocked look on Jet's face. Alex was bugging him about the methods he used to kill. He fell to his knees, clutching his head. "Not yet." Jet's body fell to the ground. "Out of time. Sorry Jet, I can not help you anymore. From here on out, you are on your own."
Jet got to his feet, feeling the last of Aaron's thoughts fading away. Then looking at the sword, the dark sapphire had lost its glow. "Well, that was weird." Jet understated.
Alex popped back into existence, stretching for no reason. "Yes, that was really weird."
They both turned when they heard laughter. "So you're back to normal. This will be easy." The man threw dozens of wind scythes at them.
Jet turned on overdrive, then put up stone walls. Then took a glance around, finding Rachael still tied up. She looked scared but unharmed. Looking some more, he found Relo lying on the ground. He couldn't tell if she was breathing with the world moving so slow. Jet inwardly sighed when he saw the water whip heading straight for him. Forming a plan, Jet made a wind tunnel, with dirt flying through the tunnel. When it met the water, it turned into mud, slowing the whip. Jet then dove out of the way of the wind blades when they struck the earthen walls blowing them apart. The wall was mainly for looks and a distraction. At the same time, Jet had created a fireball.
The man noticed Jet and threw more wind blades at him. He was far faster than Jet had expected. Jet still threw the fireball at the man and created a small straight wind to stop the man's wind blades. Which he was surprised when it worked. The wind barely breezed by him. When the fireball hit, the man went flying backward.
'Watch out.' Alex yelled in Jet's head.
Jet didn't even look rolling to the side, a water whip just barely missing him. 'Thanks.' Jet thought as he finished rolling and jumping to his feet. Taking another quick look around, Yeye was standing while leaning on a tree. The man that he had used a fireball on was holding his side, wincing in pain.
'Alex, slight problem. It's getting hard to use magic.' Jet felt strange and just wanted to take a nap.
'Well, I'd say you're low on magic, but you're almost a bottomless pit. So best guess you're tired.' Alex pointed out the obvious.
Jet took off at a run towards the man holding his side. Then the man threw more wind blades at him. He easily sidestepped the blades of wind. He swung his sword at the man, almost landing a hit. However, Jet tripped over some thing making him miss when he turned. Yeye had gotten close to him.
Jet turned to Yeye swinging his sword at him. Yeye dodged the swing, and Jet got behind him. "You're in my way." Jet grabbed Yeye's head and sent lightning through his body. The outline of Yeye's bones was visible to the naked eye, not that anyone had been looking towards the blinding light.

Homecoming | A Chronicles of Ascension Story
When Jethen was captured by slavers, his childhood was torn from him and left shattered half a world away. When he finds himself back home decades later, by methods he does not fully understand, he finds that the life he has lived has changed him far more than he knew. In a home he no longer knows. Places and people at the same time familiar and foreign, he must decide - stay and help with his parent's business, or return to the land that remade him and the family he made there. --------- Homecoming started as just a short story to break an episode of writers block. It has since morphed well beyond that into a novel in it's own right, and may well end up with a sequel. The writing of Homecoming became a bit of a self induced challenge to improve my initial, first brush, writing quality. Each chapter was written raw, given a once over read and edit, and then posted. In this way I am forcing myself to write better from the start. I do hope you enjoy the story and will leave a comment or review, and if you see an issue, feel free to let me know as well. I know it is not nearly perfect, and it will get a full and proper edit once I am done. Never hurts to fix things along the way though. As an additional note. The story has undergone a structural rework and has been reposted in an updated structure and sequence of chapters. If you have read this story already, I invite you to do so again in this new structure.

Pure Unadulterated Violence The Pugilist wants to be a different take on isekai shenanigans. What would happen if instead of a moronic idiot, a depressed high schooler, or a wannabe hero the one to get his do-over is a fully grown man that has already seen what life has to offer in full? Someone who conformed himself to society, but has always craved something different? In a journey of self-discovery, academy building, god-slaying, and absolutely no harem we follow someone driven by logic, experience, and a smokey goal: to fuck shit up, have fun while doing so, and maybe resume his career as a professor for those strange, magic-wielding, unstable youths that seems to never get enough of his presence. Guys, a few notes, first of all, this is my first time writing long-form fiction. I have a background in psychology, and my main income comes from writing dreary financial articles on SEO blogs. But after a bad break-up, and finding myself falling asleep only while thinking of deus ex machina for stories on this site (and for APGTE) I decided to try my hand at this web series thingy. I'm confident in my grammar, but that's it. Everything else will be a first time, and as such any constructive criticism is encouraged and gratefully accepted. Now, on the story. Romance will be introduced once my little heart is mended, if you are scared of LGBT you may be turned off by the fact that I plan to have no taboo of any kind in my universe, but I won't ever write detailed sex scenes for any characters so don't worry too much. The litRPG part is very light and will take place later in the novel, but it's a key component nonetheless, for world-building and storyline reasons. I already have everything big planned out, so I won't drop it outta nowhere, and I hope you won't find too many flaws in how things pan out. I plan to make The Pugilist an interactive story, with secondary characters created by my audience and introduced after tweaks and careful planning. The main reason I'm writing this is that I want to build a community for myself in this time of isolation. I discovered that exercising, playing the piano or video games means jack-shit when you are utterly miserable, so I hope to give some value to my readers in exchange for praise, fame, money, and companionship. I give full props to anyone who has read this whole mess of a synopsis: I hope to not disappoint too much, now let's write some more steaming garbage that will be in dire need of editing later on.
