《Spatial storage of all things ( Dropped )》Chapter 40: A mission with Ozz (1/2)

After the three hours were up, Luke got back to the monolith where he regrouped with Ozz. Not long after, the system prompt resounded. * The rescue mission will begin immediately. You will be teleported to the allied camp on Planet P6170099878, from there, you will go to the enemy base 14 kilometers east. Team Shadow reapers is currently detained within the base's underground. 2000 points will be awarded for each ally rescued. Another 3000 points will be awarded if the base is destroyed. *
Not letting them the time to process what they learned, they were covered in their respective lights, violet for Luke and blue for Ozz. Closing his eyes and focusing the best he could on the space waves surrounding him, Luke disappeared from the monolith and reappeared in said allied camp.
Though, Luke was not taking in the surroundings as he was marveling on what he observed. When they were teleported, he got to see how the both of them were kind of sucked into a wormhole. This wormhole, instead of making space waves connect actually made a single wave broader, aspiring the ones near it and made it explode.
This brought them to a kind of void from where what was probably the other end of the wormhole sucked them. This time, he got to see how the massive wave first exploded and became the normal waves again. This simple teleportation, which he experienced multiple times already, as most of the people on earth, was so mystical. This made him a bit depressed as he didn't see himself do this anytime soon, much less for billions of people at the same time.
Just looking at it once was enough to set him on another path. This was maybe Luke's entry into law of space...
Even though he was sure he couldn't do it, he now had another way to use the space waves. This one way will even enable him to teleport in short distances, the only question being how much mana a single centimeter would need as he had the feeling that it would be massive. He then opened his eyes.

What he first saw was a red star shining fiercely on this desolate place, safe for the camp, or what remains of it. The camp was just wreckage. What looked like scraps of a black tent was the only thing present. Everywhere else was just a green looking ground, with nothing on it. There were traces of a fight here and there with some blood and a corpse.
Not minding this anymore, Luke looked east as this was where the enemy base should be. What he saw was a massive green mountain. Thinking that the base was behind the mountain, Luke gazed at Ozz, who was silent up until now. Then, he sensed some anger emanating from the blue slime. This startled him as he never saw, or more like sensed Ozz angry.
Before he could ask him what was wrong, he talked: " Brother dead... Ozz angry " Shocked, Luke looked intently at the corpse, trying to find anything that resembled a slime but Ozz instead went to a puddle in the distance. It was a blue puddle. Now Luke was quite ashamed and amazed that slimes became puddles after death. Ozz, who was near the puddle got on it and absorbed what remained of his late brother.
Thinking that it was probably a tradition or something, Luke put the matter aside and just waited for Ozz to finish. Done, Ozz began to advance in the east direction with a seriously dreadful aura. It seemed like this mission became something personal.
Following Ozz quietly, Luke was back to his pondering for the remaining travel. ' I don't think I have enough control to replicate that teleportation... Can I do it with my eyes? They seem to be able to act on the space waves right? '
As they were moving quickly, they arrived at the base before he could experiment this. Looking at the black, metal-looking fort, Luke had the urge to raze it just like he does every time but remembered that this time, rescuing the hostages was not just an option but the goal.

Ozz though didn't even stop to think of anything, he just jumped and spewed a gigantic purple fluid ball. Looking as it quickly approached the base, Luke had the feeling that he wouldn't like being touched by it. In fact, his intuition even made him doubt he would survive it, making his scalp tingle. A single attack from Ozz would make him waste an extra life.
The purple ball, once it touched the base just melted it as if it was sugar. Luke was sure he heard some screams which quickly died off as the fluid began to corrode the ground.
' Seems like the mission is a fail then... Oh, wait! The system said they were detained underground so it should be alright no? '
Ozz, who was still emanating a dreadful aura just advanced towards the now molten base. Shrugging as Ozz's way of doing things oddly resembled his, Luke once again followed in silence.
Once there, they saw staircases heading downwards. As they were also in the process of melting down, Luke simply fired a dark blast downwards, clearing the path as they both let themselves fall.
As they landed, Ozz once again led the way as there was only one simple corridor that ended with a door. Though in the corridor, there were eight of what looked like the same tentacle monster that he encountered on his first mission with Lion and Andrea. It's just that they looked weaker.
Not willing to lose time, Luke and Ozz both released dark blasts, easily ending the monsters. ' I say, for a first time fighting together, we have quite a good synergy... Damn, I like Ozz more and more, this kid will be under my protection from now on, though, he doesn't look like he needs it yet '
Arriving at the door, Luke simply kicked it open, revealing what was previously hidden from them. There were three tentacle monsters that, this time, didn't look weak. The team Shadow reapers were somehow trapped by a green viscous liquid. They looked like they had it rough as their eyes were empty of life, though they were not dead.
Luke didn't know what happened to them but he didn't care much. He only noted that they were three, most likely the only survivors of the team. The monsters wouldn't just gawk at them indefinitely as they sprung into action. Feeling that something was wrong as they were not exactly very stealthy in their raid, Luke scooped up Ozz, who looked like he was about to attack and retreated out of the room.
It seemed like this was the right action as not even a second later, another tentacle monster dropped where they once stood. It seemed like they were intelligent enough to set up an ambush, which unfortunately for them failed. Releasing Ozz, Luke brought out his daggers and got into a fighting stance.
